My brother and sister had their tonsils taken out and they were told that they couldn't talk for a week but in this story they make it out like when you get your tonsils you are healed within hours.
There's also a Creepypasta Story called I'm Not Martin. I think this episode should've gotten a sequel if The Haunting Hour had gotten more seasons and episodes this episode would be one of them to get a sequel along with Dreamcatcher Fear Never Knocks Grampires and Mascot.
You missed on part here: 27:33 Did you notice in that movie that the nurse kept on saying 'You're no longer going to be martin' when she tells the boy to put on his mask, then he travels back to the future.
I think it’ll be super cool if you reviewed an episode of The Nightmare Room because it might be my favorite R.L. Stine show. I’m still not sure if The Nightmare Room or The Haunting Hour is my favorite. But I think if you were to review an episode a recommendation would be the episode Four Eyes.
Wolf Entertainment I think so me and a friend were watching this and he told me. It made more sence than the other plot. It would have been better if Sean and the ghost got Martin in the surgey. Like they could have fixed the signs. That would have been a better episode. They could have stopped the surgery and "Martin" wouod have his foot and The real Martin would have lost his.
Wolf Entertainment The Medical Chart Swap Trick had been done before. I saw in the Pink Panther episode "The Pink Pill". In the episode, the Pink Panther & another Patient were given their meals, but while the Patient got a nice meal, the Panther was stuck with a liquid diet. So, the Pink Panther steathily swapped the charts, and when the doctor (Big Nose) noticed this, he swapped the meals so that Pink Panther gets the nice meal, & the patient gets the liquid diet. However, Pink Panther got more than he what he bargained for when the nurse took him to the surgery room (due to the charts still swapped). So Pink Panther gets a painful surgery on his stomach (marked with an X-shaped bandage), leaving the other Patient to snicker slyly, for he did not get his surgery. Yeah, the Doctor in Pink Panther got fooled like the doctors in I'm Not Martin. Stull, I'm sure the Medical Chart Swap trick was done before, though I don't know who did it first nor what show did it first.
Surprisingly medical practitioners have made abominable mistakes after mix ups with medical records. For example their have been newborns swapped days after birth without detection until years later. As the aphorism goes " truth is stranger than fiction ".
You know, this is one of RL Stine's favorite stories he wrote, which is pretty sad cause of how weak it is. And he personally thinks it's "REALLY disgusting" and "not for kids". I love RL Stine as much as all of us who grew up with is stories, but what did he think he was smoking? XD I'm Not Martin would've been much scarier if Stine was actually thinking when writing the idea.
17:21 Well, it would likely be a psychward. But still, that would be on a different floor than surgeries. Also, I learned that wristbands started being used in 1959.
Season 4 was basically the hit and miss season. Some were good (Grandpa's Glasses, Lotsa Luck, My Old House, Argh V) and some just sucked (Near Mint Condition, Return of the Pumpkinheads Spores, Good Will Toward Men, I'm Not Martin).
Wow I don't like Hospitals but this is a bad episode when I watch in college. Did people don't understand this episode? And the sort story is bad. Who is Martin? Who is the doctor? Who travels in time in 1952!? Just explain writers? Explain!!!😡
And this is why the book version's ending makes somewhat more sense. Cause at least it implies what book Sean's fate really was, unlike in this episode, and the entire story's already flipped on its head on TV XD What I think is stupid, is that they take stories from another book and put them into a show that is based on a completely different one. Yes, there is a Haunting Hour book, with not nearly as much stories as the show has. 1 story from the book are on TV, and almost all of the Nightmare Hour stories are imported to TV. Why would you cross-film 2 completely different reading medias from RL Stine? This show is amazing, but what I explained is why lots of these episodes are on the wrong side of the spectrum. ^^; That's why Goosebumps was more fitting cause it had more stories from its own multiple book series to import and entertain on TV back in the 90's.
As I am someone with medical phobia, this episode was way too much for me to handle. I also hate the thought of being retrained. But hey! I'm here for the review anyway.
If you ever read this comment I desire for you to know that I love your reviews. I think this episode is certainly wasted potential. I think that possibly the brother simply told a story that he thought was false but was truly real. For instance people have said things they believed were not true to trick others then discovered it was true. December 3rd 2023 5:56 PM Central Time

My sister had her tonsils removed and could not talk for around a week.
Nobody cares
Fun Fact: on a livestream Stine did back in 2010, he said he didnt wanna do I’m Not Martin cause it was too discusting.
I believe the head doctor was pretending to be the police officer
There's also a Creepypasta Story called I'm Not Martin.

the ghost at the ending could've just been Sean imagination
29:08 I laughed when he was touching his leg 😂
Such a pity that Shawn's actor was typecast as the whiny crybaby.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates this episode. Your comments are pretty much all spot on.
There's actually a Creepypasta called I'm Not Martin.
Is it good?

Yeah it is I like it
Wolf Entertainment What's your favorite version of the Doctor Who theme song?
I like the theme song that started in the 1980's.
The 4th Doctor always did have the best theme.
It was the 50s everythang was on paper however I do agree that the hospital shuld have made sure with how Martian was acting espesuly.
You missed on part here: 27:33
Did you notice in that movie that the nurse kept on saying 'You're no longer going to be martin' when she tells the boy to put on his mask, then he travels back to the future.
It's still not enough. Since in the twist ending, the other legless boy says "Not yet..." Implying that he is still being labeled as Martin.
The legend Derrick told Sean wasn't about martin it was about was about the ghost boy who i wll name shawn
I love this video it makes me laugh so much
I feel like the ending is supposed to be creepy, but I just find it hilariously stupid every time.
The ghost looks exactly like Derrick, don't you think?

Aperantly this episode was supposed scare kids who are afraid of the doctor. Or kids who have to have surgey and are scared.
So...they wanted to scare people who were already afraid? Sounds like a genius idea.

I do not like how the spores in the " Spores " episode go unexplained. I mean are they from space or something ?
Please do Lovecraft's Woods next time. Its one of my favorites.
@Cj Cat We finally reviewed that episode.

I read a Creepypasta Story which is also called I'm Not Martin I happen to be a big fan of Creepypastas

Young Adam Goldberg and also the live-action Ron Stoppable, I thought I recognized that kid.

love how u kiled this horrable episode
In which episode did you the ripoff meter first
It might be way back on the Near Mint Condition review.
Who thought the book and the adaptation of the story would both fail
Is it me or does the Doctor looks like Hikoma from Samurai Sentai Shinkenger
I am not my self the haunting hour episode
Anyone else say, 'are you?' when the docter asked Shawn if he was a docter?
The Tale of the Night Nurse from "Are You Afraid of the Dark" is a better done episode than this.
Plz do a review on evermore chronicles and the show house of Anubis please there both pretty creepy
