    Not sure if it will help with the stutters but you typically don't need to leave 'rolling cache' enabled if you have a fast-enough internet connection. It'll save your drive in the long run by not writing data to it constantly. It's only useful for flying the same routes over and over.

    I did all of these things but nothing made as big a difference as going to faster RAM. In most computers, the RAM speed runs at a default speed set by the bios, and based on the processor recommendation. For example, my system uses and i9 13900KF and the default max RAM speed is 4800mhz and this is set in the BIOS. The machine came with 5200mhz but it was not enabled to work at this speed in the BIOS but when I Enabled XMP in the BIOS, and I set up the "Tweaked XMP" profile that is stored in the RAM, I saw a really good improvement in smoothness. When we got the specs for MSFS 2024, I put in some 6000mhz CL30 ram and put in the new XMP profile for that, and WOW!, did it make a huge difference. I have run this sim for 5 years or so now, and it now runs smoothly even in busy airports. The frame rate can fell to 30, but even at 4K, the visuals remain smooth with only a *very* infrequent, slight stutter. Going to fast RAM made more difference than any of the hundreds of tuning tweaks I tried over the years. (A note. The CL30 in the ram is the number of clock cycles it takes for the RAM to complete an operation. A 6000mhz CL30 ram will be faster than a 6000mhz CL32 ram. I learned a lot about this and it paid off. My sim runs super smooth now. Note also that you can go overboard on speed so in my case, my research said that 6600 or higher would not make much of a difference and much of what I read said that for the 13900KF, 6000 or 6600 would be about as fast as you needed.

    I have a PC with an AMD 5 5600G proc. with an nvidia gtx 1050 ti and DDR 4 2660. And very importantly, a fast SSD HD M2 drive. An average PS of 450 euros. yet I fly high mode 20 fps and no stutter. Like you, I have tried everything and there is much more possible. Forget it, or you won't be satisfied with one thing or the other. In addition, all computers and video cards are different. My computer with a GTX 1660 or an AMD 6600 is enough to fly ultra at 40 fps. Even with a UHD 1440 screen.

      @@AddyAviates I no longer use the local cache, as it works only if we fly in the same areas: we first need to fly in a area for the local cache to get the data for that area. For 1 area we need a few GB, so for the many areas I fly, ie anywhere, I would need a huge cache, and first fly at least once for each area. And when I used the local cache, I often got messy things appear in several areas, having to delete it and start all over again.

    So I don’t have rolling cache turned on for the sim, any suggestions on how beneficial it is to have it on?

    • @AddyAviates
      @AddyAviates  9 месяцев назад +1

      It depends on your graphics settings but what rolling cache does is it stores the files from the scenery into the games data so it doesn't have to re load it every time you fly into that area, with that being said it makes for a smoother experience, however when there gets to be too many files stored the stutters like we saw in this video appear that's why we deleted them to relive some of that! All in all, if you have a decent setup i would recommend the cache and if your more of a low end setup i would not! Hope this Helps!
