can you please do more videos on Dutch builders, mulder, steeler, boarn (other models), struier, breedendam? (cant remeber the names), super lawer, beavester..., etc etc.
Righto will look to do more Dutch craft in future
Don't forget Linssen Yachts!!
Definitely need more Dutch built boats. Agreed. Would be helpful. Thank you.
Aero engineer here. The stabilizers aren't working by the Coriolis Effect. They work via the Magnus Effect (hence the name). This is the same effect that causes, say, footballs to curve.
Nice job Hugo, I remember when you started posting, I thought you were going to have a heart attack you were so nervous. Now I look forward to your tours, keep up the great work!!
Thanks Rich that’s kind of you to say so
Agree with that. He's now one of the best on You Tube.
Very nice. I watch others tour yachts and it makes me wonder why I hear drawers and cabinets close without your finesse 👍🏻
That's a really nice yacht, love everything about it, definitely different to the normal run of the mill. Great tour Hugo thank you.
My pleasure
And another superb review Hugo. My word you’re a busy chap.
A lovely tough go anywhere boat which would instil confidence in a rough offshore sea. Love it 👍
I like simple. And this has a lot of it! And, it's all beautifully done! Thank you for showing this boat and it's builder.
That Magnus stabilizers uses the Magnuson Effect. Same principle almost, but a point further out and then spinning at a high rate of speed causes a pull in that direction.
Great tour Hugo.
Great boat and if you’re not looking for anything quicker this has to be on a short list.
Lovely boat, fantastic oak interior and really like the three cabin layout. Thanks for showing this one off.
Beautiful!
Very smart boat, I'd choose mine with a helm door though. Glad you decided not to bin this recording when you discovered you had some camera issues because it was a great tour of a really nice boat. 👍❤️🇬🇧
Postscript: the boat behind you at 19:26 looks interesting too.
Thanks for the tour!
First visit!! Excellent tool with just enough information. Thanks, you have a new subscriber!
Fantastic.
love this boat
Very well done Sir.
Need rubber gasketing on the locker and compartment closings - little lack of detail. But overall a very nice little boat.
Really nice yacht, and a great review.
Wow. Apparently still have yet to hear of all the boat builders. Great boat. Thanks!
Would love to see a tour of those Rhea next door. Rare to see a look of those and there's a new dealer in the PNW.
Love these Dutch built steel cruisers. Thank you for the tour.
Wonder if you could have a tender crane on the flybridge, with place for a tender. I mean nobody gets these full displacement trawlers without a tender, especially this size or larger. And that little garage in the aft is not for a real tender, just for toys like a diving drone, Seabob etc. There's even a step so you cant pull any tenders out of there, you have to lift them.
Pretty sure they could do that as they are a true custom builder
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
This beautiful boat has kicked Nordhavn into 3rd behind bering place on my favorite boat list
THANK YOU for some fine reportage and analysis of this trawler. If one wants to travel, it can be done (with some customization of spec.) Should one want to hang about in a harbor, this provides all comforts.
❤ trawler yachts are fabulous I’ll take it 😂
Beautiful boat. :D
Very interesting product.
I did graduate school with the G2G active duty option. If you are going for a M.S. in a "hard" science a lot of schools offer research or teaching assistantships that often include tuition remission. I was able to commission without touching the GI bill.
Great tour :)
What an unusual steel explorer yacht Hugo with pretty much an open plan specification ready for the owner to put whatever they want into it's volumous interior living space. Instead of a garage perhaps another crew or kids cabin could be catered for, and a crane on the flybridge to put a tender up on top of that massive empty space would be a better option.
It's nice, but unfortunately this mar,etc has become increasingly crowded. This is going to appeal to the buyer that is absolutely serious about taking a boat offshore and doesn't want a Bering, Numarine, Sirena, Nordhavn, Fleming, OceanClass Greenlines, Azimut Magellano..you get the picture. The difference though is this one is all steel. No aluminum superstructure or full GRP or cold molded, etc. Which is a plus or negative depending on your view and needs. This is absolutely the best new find. Bravo Zulu Hugo
Thank you Charlie Bravo!
Cool!
Excellent Yacht with optimum space usage
Only when you see these things out of the water you appreciate their size.
Yes great idea, a crain on fly deck a decent semi ridged and them two fuel tanks, engines a bit weak but hey if ur'e doing the 7 seas who wants speed the longer the better
Proper looking boat. Would be great to go off by yourself for weeks at a time.
Beautiful boat. I’d want to get rid of the bunk cabin and make that a washer/dryer with a pantry in there. Then you’d be set for live aboard accommodations.
There's a lot to be said for having increased input into the design of the boat. What sort of range can be expected from cruising at say - 8 knots?
This is realy dutch quality, not my thing because i like more speed but i can imagine why this must be appealing to people who are never in a hurry and appriciate the pure quality.
It is not the only steel 50 with a full beam mid ship cabin. There is also the Steeler Yachts Cat A, also Dutch.
I always wondered with the steel construction how the paint holds up and how often do you have to repaint the hull and topsides due to paint issues such as bubbling and corrosion under the steel
Не чаще, чем ремонтировать пластик!👋
Really nice yacht; I wonder how thick is the hull !?! Who knows?
Thanks. Whats asking price?
Is there a potential issue with underpowered for a Class A boat, Hugo ?
It's called the Magnus Effect.
Шикарная лодка
would love if you put pricing in the thumbnail or title
love the boat, but will only get 1000nm range on 1600ltrs Fuel, if i it was mine i would of had the Garage turned into Twin 4000ltr Fuel Tanks to get a range of nearly 7500nm @ 5 knots, i noticed you got a bit Tongue Tired at times, lol .......... i enjoyed the footage, well done!
That's what she said 😂😂11:58
as its steel, bigger fuel tankage would be perfect.
Very cool enamelled pan
A truly impressive boat, but I’m not sure what it’s actually for. I mean, I doubt many of them will encounter the conditions for which they are built. And I think the legs are a wee bit short.
But I’m glad someone makes boats like this.
Ah. Just got to the engine room. I reckon this boat does nearly 3mpg. And there’s the customisation. Hmm. This one could be a grower.
@@sirmurf Totally agree. This is a cracking boat.I would liveaboard it.
🌟 Fun-fact, its a #numptynonsense design and layout (mirror above the shower 😅)
Love the boat but can bigger engines be speced?
It wouldn't make sense. Full displacement hulls are designed for efficiency...
Very impressive, except showers that looked rather utilitarian. Thanks.
What does "up for grabs" mean? Fire this guy. He is real good at pointing out the shortcomings!
Would have loved more useful information instead of opening “every” drawer or closet - e.g. electric thrusters or hydraulic, real length of the tender garage etc. Turn the tender 90 degrees? I would like you to show me that 😉 The third cabin is really, really small ….
Why would you say that this boat's hull is prone to rolling when you pointed out that it has the Magnus Stabilizers❓🤔
Also, why would you state that the boat's weight makes it dangerous❓ From what I understand, a heavier weighted boat provides more safety and stability.
Help me out here, please. I'm confused.
All round bilge displacement hulls are prone to rolling unless they have a deep heavy keel to help keep them upright. That’s why it has been fitted with stabilisers to help reduce the roll. Weight can help but only if it’s below the waterline to help lower the centre of gravity. If the weight is above the roll centre then it will exacerbate the boat’s tendency to roll.
@@hugoandreae3785 What's the purpose of building a bilge round hull, if it's prone to roll❓
Is it because the builder is trying to create as much height and width room as possible on the lower deck❓
@@motleybrown2421 Because it's the most seaworthy and efficient hull form for a slow displacement boat
To me personally, I think the living quarters are very poorly designed for a fifty footer. The galley/ dinette level gives the feel of a thirty foot bay cruiser. The idea of a thousand NM run, sitting at the dining area as your only salon, is very unappealing. Stack this vessel up against any other 50 foot distance trawler, and the absurdity of the dinette salon quickly becomes more apparent.
More boat. Less caravan.
Why that rounded rolly hull🥲
Externally it looks really nice, not a fan of any of the interior, far too much wood, looks tacky to me.
"Prone to rolling"...fills me with confidence.
Well, I'm not to keen on a boat that has a tendency to rollover as stated in the video !!
🤣👋
"Lovely this, Lovely that." Increase your vocabulary.
1000NM Trawler isn't really a sales point.
wrpñg
Steel boats over time in salt water turn into rust buckets. No thanks.
1,000 nm at 10 kts doesn’t seem that great. Isn’t that comparable to 350 miles at 25 kts?
This boat would be perfect.
The worst crew cabins I’ve ever seen, are better then that twin cabin
