Alpine were a racing brand that used Renault parts for years until they had financial issues and Renault bought them outright. However, in certain racing series the cars still raced under the Alpine name while being produced by Renault. The street version however would have both names on it. It raced in 1994 under the name of the Alpine A610. Versions of it raced in other years like 93 as well but under the name of Renault PRV (the entry was more to show off a v6 engine worked on by Peugeot/Renault/Volvo rather than show off a road running car thus it had race bodies rather than production)
yes it was lighter but 21 lbs of torque lost by choosing the gtr engine. go choose the v8 and add a little stiffness in the front. move it up to about 1/8 of the bar. it will help hold the v8's extra 13 lbs. and it will help steering.
Switch to manual with clutch. Hold e-brake, gently give full throttle. You will notice now the rpm meter sticks at 2000rpm. Release e-brake and the car should launch more controlled when the 1st gear is properly tuned.
most of the time i dislike the lame LS Swaps but i think in this Car the more Torque and shorter RPM Band would have matched the Renault Alpine better in the Dragrace.. But great video dude!

Did you notice how much horsepower you get from the race turbos? Cause you get over 270 hp
U should make it AWD and do something like an 72/25 power split to help with the launch
the top speed will only be 191, I tried it, And it felt slower.
