A ride on the chairlift at Mr Marvels amusement park in Scarborough

We take a trip to the seafront and back on the chairlift at the long closed and demolished Mr Marvels amusement park in Scarborough. The video is a compilation of chairlift rides in 1992, 1996 and 1998 together with some sad photographs of the remains of each end of the chairlift in 2007

It was Fantastic . The tree walk . and that the pub near the castle the Albian , you could buy cocktails with cute little cocktail sticks

Just another wonderful facet of Scarborough run to ruin 😭. I remember working on parts for this after the collapse when there were people dragged through undergrowth when the cable dropped the chairs to the floor.

Riding this charlift was the first time I saw my dad petrified. That wobble going over the support towers freaked him out. As a 6 year old, I thought this was hilarious. I must have been a right little sod....

It suffered from a huge lack of investment. It should still be there and better than ever now. Agreed it is a massive loss to Scarborough. I loved it here.

I grew up in Scarborough and remember riding on this, sadly its no longer there, i would have loved to have my neice and nephew go on this ride but the minature train ride still remains to this day.

Thanks for uploading, wonderful memories of this park from first opening when it was packed to its steady decline , can't believe its been just left to rot and towers and old stations are lift of was once a fantastic fun park in its day😢

The outdoor pools both north & South gone ,Mr marvels a derelict mess. Thank you Scarborough council for your efforts in ruining a lovely town .

Remember early 70s riding them , no safety, me and my lifted the bar up , that was meant to keep you in , 100;ft up we were petrified 😅
