Hey everyone! Yet again i'm trying out the essay style video so let me know what you think! If you have any feedback feel free to leave it down below! I also felt it was unfair to not mention a huge inspiration for this video so check out this guy's amazing video next:ruclips.net/video/XDvPx-BuIQw/видео.html
I wanted to make a video like this, but you voiced my opinion perfectly that I now don't need to. Mojang isn't giving us a reason to get excited for these updates anymore. ... maybe i might make a video, this was very inspiring.
2:31 The answer is "all the time", because I love Goat Horns, Allays, and Glow Ink Sacs - heck, Allays are one of my favorite mobs. I know they could be better (I still wish they'd kept working on the Copper Goat Horns), but still.
come on Williammmmmmmmmmmmm, a plant with torch in its name without emitting light and and other one which is basically a decor item, rotten flesh has more uses than these 2 things (these 2 are just decor(1st use) and used to breed sniffer(2nd thing)) I could just use rotten flesh to trade with villagers, feed to my dog, eat it myself if im stuck somewhere. 3 uses 1 item, sniffer drops 2 items with 2 total uses between those 2 item P.S. not a hate comment just my frustration on mojang, if notch was the dev till now this game would have surpassed like GTA 5 level games by now
4:23 the recovery compass is also useless to normal players as well. There's literally no point because of screenshotting, keep inventory, and bringing a recovery compass and dying means you dont have a way getting it.
Another reason that they feel lacking is because of one simple thing: community expectations. Because we got the Nether update in 6 months, the update aquatic and village and pillage back to back, the community always wants more, and start to look at features quantity over quality. That’s why most people said that the 1.17 and 1.18 were not good: because they were splitted, so they are smaller. In reality, both updates together revolutionized the game. We got a new world generation completely changing how so explore the world… I strongly agree that 1.20 is lacking, and I’m glad 1.21 has a central theme focused with combat and red stone.
I agree with pretty much all of these, though I don't mind having widely spread out content. it's one of the reasons I preferred 1.20 over 1.21. it's also one of the reasons 1.14 is my favorite update; while yes, they did focus on villages, many other miscellaneous changes were added too, such as brown mooshrooms, leather horse armor, 4 new dyes and 3 new flowers, the taiga biome vote, bamboo forests, etc.
Also don’t forget how Mojang always likes to break promises like not adding fireflies and updating the birch forest. We also still do not have the bundle.
I used to play it during release up till around before ocean monuments, I remembered I got bored of it because there were not a lot of enemy variation or mobs in general, coming back now on bedrock, I now discovered why I loved Minecraft back then, a freedom only found here, but still mojang, give me the villager update where villagers patrol in a group from Temple, and also villagers that hunt animals outside
This video really does capture something adjacent to a deeper anxiety that I’ve struggled to put to words about 1.21, a feeling of “did you really want to do that?” Like, automatic crafting is such an enormous shift to how players interact with the world and yet, despite that fact, it feels…off to me, it feels instinctively like a rushed obligation, not a well planned choice, and they can’t really go back y’know? I’m usually playing Minecraft in a super modded way, so I don’t mind stuff breaking vanilla’s design ideas, but it feels inherently different when Mojang do it yknow? It feels very “end of an era” and I don’t really know why they chose to end it.
I definitely agree although I will say I think the crafter is one of the good features to come out of 1.21 but it feels like it should be something made for late game
I think the thumbnail is a bit clickbaity (in comparison to the video) becasue I think alot of the points you mentioned are overcome in 1.21. For example. you said there wasn't really a reason to go to the structures/biomes they added, but with the trial chambers there is the Mace and the armour trims and the music dics (there will be 3) and the mace enchants. I could go on for a while about the unique loot they added. Another thing you mentioned was the central focus. 1.21 really did focus on the trial chambers. Of couse, all the things you said in the video were true, but I think the thumbnail should have been related to the video. (why I'm saying it's "not" related to the video is... well... all my points above) Anyway, I nice vid I always love videos about updates
I loved your video, good job you put the major faults and summarized it nicely done (no sarcasm)**** PS read my other comment I have a suggestion that could make minecraft better and gain popularity
the mobs kinda feel unfinished to me. for example the frog could have dropped slime balls or frog legs. frog legs could replace rabbit foots for jump boost potions and those could be used to craft luck potion. armadillo scutes could be used to brew resistance potions for example.
1.21 is going to be a good update, look I know we didn't get what we want during the mob vote but I like what Mojang has added and so do most people, even if they nerf things. I personally think it's going to be a good update, and the next one I believe will be even better but who knows, just be optimistic.
It seems alot of new updates contain a large amount of features under the hood, how loot tables and player effects etc. Conspiracy brain says theyre trying to make it easier for people to add content to the bedrock store so they can make more money from mtx
Would be a dream come true, but they gotta be careful how they do it and make sure it actually adds to the progression and not j a bunch of random end stuff ya know
@@quarter_god yeah true, but thats in statistic form, when in reality the difference between 2 and 1 isn't that big. Especially when the plants are mostly unused.
I want to see more updates like update aquatic, village and pillage and the nether update NOT trails and tales 🤦🏿♂️ like what does that even. Also inventory updates and quality of life updates are needed. Also they have to add the backlog from the mob votes
in like shortest way possible mojang is trying harder to get more money than to make something more interesting, so as per my logic, mojang should start hosting like events and stuff, for example valorant has its own VCT's minecraft could have like 3 category event, building redstone and pvp, so they can u know just put up adverts on those streams and make money, then then then, they can add like cosmetics to the game, like if you want wings(just cosmetic thing)* u can buy them from offical store and have them in the game, and for those events you can reward players with like a super rare cape or like king's crown to the one who wins those events
Amazing video ! You made a really good point on the feeling I have with the game currenlty But you haven't fallen into some "Minecraft was better before" and admitted that recent addition are still, in their own, great. I agree on that. Personnaly, having little updates doesn't bother me. However I have a problem with recent mobs : the lack of drop. New mobs looks like toys you keep as decoration but you never play with.
Thanks I really appreciate it and yeah the new features aren’t bad by any means but they could definitely be better and there’s so many things they should prioritize on overhauling yet they add stuff that j doesn’t feel necessary
What I think mojang is doing is hidding. They are carefully developing each feature, not to satisfy the communisty but not to hurt anyones beleifs. The reason they have stopped revealing the whole update on minecraft live is because they were scared of the reaction to them by the community like when they cancelled features from 1.19. The truth is that 1.19 was a bad update, but its just it, mojang's had bad updates before but they didnt change their whole strategy
1:04 I mean didnt previous updates dont have a centralized theme pre-1.13? Also making big overhaul updates can get tiring i dont blame mojang for that 1:59 Theres like multiple filler content every update the issue is when the filler content becomes the main part of the update 3:56 You literally forgot the two armour trims. Theres like a youtuber i follow that had to search 70 ancient cities just to get the silence trim, and you can already easily dodge the warden, swift sneak just makes it easier and is simply a qol item so thats why it's in the ancient city Honestly Camels do make an impact when doing a single desert biome world and can be more useful than horses because most mobs cant reach you. Sniffer i agree 5:48 The issue with gameplay loop is that it doesnt discourage players to slow down, but they've pretty much been trying to slowly with the villager nerf, diamond distribution nerf, nether update, and with the new vault block New biomes do make an impact, such ad sculk for exp, and building materials. This biomes argument is wrong because it basically means there should only be one biome because most of them are useless and only exists for looks. 7:57 Oh boy this is gonna be a ride. Marketplace existing is mojangs reason not Microsoft. All Microsoft does to marketplace is partnerships and othet stuff but thats about it. Yeah strict deadlines thats how game development work, and its not like they are forced to follow these deadlines as showned with mojang splitting the caves and cliffs update to 2 pieces, and by that point 1.20.5 would have already gotten a pre-release but it didnt because they wanted to add more to wolves than just wolf armor. I mean isnt that the same with 1.19-1.20? Old old updates usually have small features and felt sometimes random or just there. Also the extra copper blocks being on 1.21 because they couldn't fit it on 1.18 makes zero sense. They added the extra copper blocks because of the new trial chambers, and its not like they have added new blocks for dripstone and calcite its more of priority.
We running out of things to complain 😭, like i'm tired of these videos of 22 year olds complaining abt random things that aren't even a problem, you don't enjoy the game anymore bro maybe its time to stop playing and find new games, this break will even be good for you, maybe you will come back and find why you enjoy minecraft in first place.

I think mojang needs to add a way to couple minecarts together, like with chains
Never thought about that, that’s a great feature idea!

great video. what mojang needs to do is roll a dice for what thing the next update should be about and update that part of the game a lot.

It would have to be done right but yeah it’s definitely the most needed update imo
