You know this review is a little bit of heaven. I looked at 2 other reviews of this air fryer. The first one was 2 late-middle aged guys who looked like they'd never been in a kitchen before - they spent the whole review unboxing it and then just looking at the menu options before deciding it was better than 'an old oven' which was actually a Bosch. The second one was another middle aged guy who did chips. I mean, all that money and both reviews decided it was great, but your review, the 3rd one I saw, actually used it! My favourite part of this is actually the neat little wooden tongs for taking out the hot baked goods. I don't know if they come with the oven or not but they're so cute and satisfying! 😊
When I've made oven fried zucchini, the recipe said to remove the centers. So after you make the wedges, cut off the center so they are flat, not triangular. Then salt on a rack on a baking sheet so the water drips down. Crispy outside, inside like a French fry!
yes all this and just pat off the excess moisture with a paper towel! makes the breading stick better too :) zucchini fries are super yummy but kind of a labor of love

Hi Grace! I splurged and bought myself a very similar air fryer last year , called Breville Smart oven . It has 8 functions, instead of crumpet like yours , mine has a bagel setting . I love the proof setting for my sourdough and other doughs. My family was skeptical at first , because it takes up a lot of real estate on the counter , but after a year it has been the most used appliance in our kitchen! Well worth the investment!
They say it steam out a bit to you have that experience? Manual says and I saw on a video doing that "Steam is coming out from the top of the oven door. • This is normal. The door is vented to release steam created from high-moisture content food such as frozen breads. Water is dripping onto the bench top from under door. • This is normal. The condensation created from high moisture content food such as frozen breads will run down the inside of the door and can drip onto the bench top." Thank you.
I have been searching and watching a lot of videos on this Airfryer oven , and yours is the first that I have really enjoyed . Good fun and really showing how much this little oven can do. Thank you so much ❤
This was really helpful Grace our Phillips airfryer has started falling apart the plastic handle has deteriorated and broken off (we have had 2 airfryers with plastic components in the last 3 years and had issues with the plastic handle parts becoming heat affected and snapping off) so was really excited to see you review this type of airfryer which we were umming and ahhing about but because of your review (comprehensive as always!) I can see that this design is probably the way to go for what we need our air fryer to do so thankyou for this you really need to be sponsored for this type of content. Would like to see how the humble chip both frozen and fresh comes out compared to the basket fryer that would be good to see. :)
I also got a fancy upgraded airfryer like that for Christmas!! I love it, I tried out a pork loin on airfry 400 for 20min and it was perfect. It’s the 1st time I haven’t overcooked the pork!! So good. Love my airfryer!!
Mine came from Amazon today, and yours was the first decent looking review RUclips listed. I'm not going to be home for several days so the fun will have to wait, but thank you for such a thorough demonstration. We have an air fryer at work but it's very basic - you basically get a sort of bucket (basket) to put your food in. If you want a bag of chips or a roast doing it's fine, but I want to cook a couple of things at the same time so went with the Sage with its proper oven style racks. First impressions are that it's a great looking machine, it's sturdy and definitely doesn't look or feel cheap. I'll watch your video again before I do some actual cooking. PS. The Sage brand is known as Breville in other parts of the world.
Grace, just got the same Sage model as yours after my cooker died. These have got to be more energy efficient as you are only heating a much smaller oven than the normal . So love mine and saving money as well . Keep up the Sage testing. Robin
Really enjoyed watching this Grace. We have a tower 5 in 1 air fryer which we got int he sale for around £65 and it's brilliant it has 3 shelves like your sage one it's a bit smaller than your new one but is perfect for 2-3 people x
for those with a regular toaster: you have to try to toast your bagel cut open and then put together in the toaster, it’s soo good, cuz it gets crispy on the outside and really nice in the inside 😍
Loved this, Grace! Could you try homemade pizza on the pizza setting and/or with the stone and could you try something like a sponge or on the baking setting to see what the rise is like? Would be very interesting 🥰
I live in America and my Breville Smart Air Fryer Oven looks exactly like this one. It’s got to be the same one except they changed the name for the UK. I absolutely love it and glad you like yours too. Apparently you can fit a roast chicken in so I was hoping you were going to do that but was glad you made the battered zucchini too.
I love this 😂 me and my partner got the Sage toaster for Christmas (yep we asked for a toaster for Christmas lol) and it has Crumpet & fruit toast settings. Obsessed
It's like our ovens here in Japan! Generally apartments don't have the space for a big oven so we have ovens about the same size as this one which come with multiple settings. Microwave, grill / oven, steam, toast etc... but mine doesn't have air fry which would be so nice!
I bought that oven, because our big one broke. And I've been loving it so much, that we didn't yet (3 years later) buy a new oven. I use it for everything. Homemade pizza turns out really great if you crank the heat up to the max.
A huge plus of the air fryer is that it would use a lot less energy than your whole oven. So even in dishes where there wasn't much taste difference (like that slow cooked meal), you can feel good that you have been a little bit more energy efficient :)
In the U.S we have the exact same air fryer as this Sage one, but it is from Breville. Instead of a crumpet setting we have a bagel setting, but the rest is all the same! I also SWEAR by that air fryer. It is expensive, but I swear it is 100% worth every penny!
I'm so happy you did this video. I was pretty sure I wanted to get a similar air fryer (unsure if it's the same but called a different name brand in the US) instead of my little basket air fryer, but because it's so expensive I wasn't sure if I was being silly. But you sold me on it. Thanks
I have an air fryer like this it's not this brand but I love it! It works really well and so good when the oven is full and you need to bake something. I have the Emeril one if anyone is wondering and genuinely don't have any complaints. I got it for Christmas a couple years ago and I looked it up and it is 100 dollars cheaper than the one grace features, maybe worth giving it a try if your interested in an air fryer like this?
so i have the breville version of this which literally looks exactly the same, wondering if it’s all run by the same company! anyway, i live in new york which means ive got an itty bitty kitchen and a mini stove/oven, so having this as an option to slow cook/bake/air fry is an absolute god send
I saw that Grace has one, my husband bought one back in October and we use it every day, so much so he bought me the big pot and bamboo steamer as a Christmas present. We love love love it. So easy to clean and nothing sticks to it at all. My hubby is really interested to see how long the quality lasts to see if it is worth the money,. But only time will tell on that one. But if you can afford the everything pan I'd buy it.
@@amyhardwood maybe it isn't, but we have really loved it, it's really change out cooking experience the last few months. We have had various other expensive nonstick pans which haven't been as good as this we are now just waiting on longevity but so far so good. It is expensive though, I looked at then and ruled them out on price, but my husband felt it could be good value in the long run.
In Japan bread is numbered according to how thick the slices are. Higher numbers denote thinner slices. That could be why the toast cooked less on higher numbers.
I own the next style down from this toaster oven (it doesn't have the air-fryer setting but it otherwise the same) and I absolutely adore it! They sell a chopping board separately with little rubber feet designed to sit on top of it which I'd definitely recommend getting. Also, careful keeping your bananas next to it- the sides can get a bit ho so it might make them turn to mush!
I’m looking at getting the sage smart oven (the one without the air fryer setting) is that the one you have? If so can you tell me if it’s as economical as an air fryer, with cooking speed etc?
Great review. Thanks! I ordered the American version of this smart oven and it arrives tomorrow. I can't wait to start using it by trying the apple turnovers.
So the Booth oven finally broke!!! Poor thing, as you say it never cooked things quite right!!! Hopefully you get a better one or get the original one repaired. Interested in the the one in this video , sooooo many functions,!!👍😊💕
Hello Grace, I love my Gourmia Air Fryer just right for only me but wanted a versatile combi one and was undecided whether to purchase the Sage, thank you for your fun review - I'm going to browse for the best price. 😊
I have one almost identical, mine is a Breville. 🇺🇸 The toaster setting has a setting for darkness of color AND also quantity of pieces being cooked. You need to use them together. Crumpet setting is also Bagel setting. Do you have the button to cook from frozen (adjusts time) or the button that turns the convection fan on and off? If there is wooden topper, get it. I love the pizza stone. I love, love, love my American version
Hi Grace. I have the exact same oven. Except mine is the next model down, and doesn't have a air fryer function. It's so simple to use. I don't know what I'd do without it now
I bought a different brand smart oven (£155), that has all the same features and came with the same shelves/baskets; but also a rotisserie, something to pull the shelf out to access the food easier, and it even came with an oven glove! The best thing, though, is the crumb tray sits inside the oven, so the oven walls and floor stay cleaner!
I’m thinking of getting one because my flat doesn’t have an oven (I can’t bake or make anything except for stove top!) The photos I’ve seen show it make a roast chicken/ roast dinner - can this be done?
Just got mine it of the box, still unplugged etc and went to find more info, and found Grace who has to be one of the best around. The effort, time etc put in for this is fantastic. Instant fan. But, a question: I had hoped it will be quicker and cheaper than an oven when cooking those supermarket meals that take 35 mins at 200c. Is it? It’s still going to take 35 mins at 200 isn’t it? I have a feeling I may have mis-bought!
You should have got the new Ninja Foodi! It ‘s and air fryer but includes pressure cooker as well as dehydrate, yogurt and many others. I have the last model and I love it 😍 Great video, I’m going to make the Apple turnovers in my ninja soon 🤤
I’d had my original one since they first came out and it was getting to the end of its days. Definitely recommend waiting till the sales. I managed to get £50 off on Black Friday
Loved this review. Could you compare this against the Ninja Foodi 8-in1 Flip Mini Oven. I'm considering buying one and would really like to know your thoughts on which is the better option.
I keep seeing so many good things about pressure cookers! Can you do a pressure cooker review too? 😁

Fried courgette is literally my favourite thing in the world 😁 but I guess that it *is* weird to fry wet things. Celeriac prepared the same way is also great and not wet :)
Hello Grace, l have just bought one of these and yet to try it out. Did you plug the oven into a normal wall socket or have a dedicated separate circuit plug socket???
I feel like this would be a great option for people who don't/can't have an oven, or for the summer when you don't want to turn the oven on and make the house hot!
when u cooked the crumpet u had the tray in the middle of the oven which is where toast goes, u needed to move the tray up higher thats probably why it didnt toast as much!
How easy did you find it to clean Grace? Many of the reviews I have seen when considering purchasing, have mentioned how hard it is to clean and get the crumb tray in and out. So far that has stopped me buying one 😵💫
I need you to try my glazed apple cream pie recipe! Its like a glazed doughnut with cinnamon sugar apples. I know you don't like stewed fruit but I think you'll really like this!
Oh man ... I got the Breville which is the US brand vs Sage the UK brand. But I did not realize they had one a tad smaller. Being single wish I got the smaller one, which is called the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Toaster Oven BOV860BSS, Medium and $50 less. I don't feel like packing it back in the box and re-ordering. *Sometimes life is a pain ... but TU on the video!* But I got to find some crumpets, I had muffins but never had crumpets. Tip for quick great tasting pizza. Don't buy that frozen cracker cardboard bread pizza in a box. When I don't make my own pizza dough I use tortillas ... place one tortillas on the bottom pan spread your cheese ... place another tortillas on top of that and spread your sauce and your favorite topping plus some more cheese. So much better and quicker (6-9 min) than a frozen pizza in a box.
The air fried zucchini need to be cut in smaller wedges with oregano added to the breading. Then dipped in marinara sauce. You will love it. It’s a thing where I live near Chicago

You need to use them together.
Crumpet setting is also Bagel setting.
Do you have the button to cook from frozen (adjusts time) or the button that turns the convection fan on and off?
If there is wooden topper, get it. I love the pizza stone.
I love, love, love my American version
me "trying" something out: doing it 1 time.
Grace "trying" out the air fryer: trying out 9999 recipes :D love it!
I love your kitchen it’s so cute
Hi Grace. I have the exact same oven. Except mine is the next model down, and doesn't have a air fryer function. It's so simple to use. I don't know what I'd do without it now
I’m looking at buying the same model as you. Do you think the air fryer setting is worth it? It costs nearly £80 more!
You should also try an Instant Pot Duo! I got one for Christmas and with the two you'll never need another appliance haha
You are such a sweetheart.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching your very helpful show! Thank you ❤
YES! A new grack video
14:37 "a low slong cook" lmao
Great review and just what I needed after going round in circles trying to choose an "air fryer"- Thanks- engaging filming.
Thank you much love xx
That moment of delight when you realise the light comes on at the 30s mark 🤩
I’m thinking of getting one because my flat doesn’t have an oven (I can’t bake or make anything except for stove top!)
The photos I’ve seen show it make a roast chicken/ roast dinner - can this be done?
Just got mine it of the box, still unplugged etc and went to find more info, and found Grace who has to be one of the best around. The effort, time etc put in for this is fantastic. Instant fan. But, a question: I had hoped it will be quicker and cheaper than an oven when cooking those supermarket meals that take 35 mins at 200c. Is it? It’s still going to take 35 mins at 200 isn’t it? I have a feeling I may have mis-bought!
That puffed pastry was beautiful 😊
You should have got the new Ninja Foodi! It ‘s and air fryer but includes pressure cooker as well as dehydrate, yogurt and many others. I have the last model and I love it 😍
Great video, I’m going to make the Apple turnovers in my ninja soon 🤤
I just upgraded from the original Foodi which I loved, to the single lid one. And somehow it really does manage to be even better. Love mine
@@mariannetuite7411 I have been talking myself out of that!! I really shouldn’t be spending money but I reallllllllllly want it!! Lol.
Where did you buy your first air fryer?
Could we get the link please x
Hello Grace, l have just bought one of these and yet to try it out.
Did you plug the oven into a normal wall socket or have a dedicated separate circuit plug socket???
I have one of these. For the crumpet you have to cook it on the top rack.
Hi
Does the fan come on when you put it on toasts and can you turn the fan on or off
Thanks
I feel like this would be a great option for people who don't/can't have an oven, or for the summer when you don't want to turn the oven on and make the house hot!
It’s faster too. Quicker to heat up.
Haven’t had a cheese crumpet in YEARS wow will have to make them soon
when u cooked the crumpet u had the tray in the middle of the oven which is where toast goes, u needed to move the tray up higher thats probably why it didnt toast as much!
Thank you that was very helpful.
I have the Sage. I have not cooked frozen pizza, but chilled pizza from the shop works just fine.
Hi grace, what is the name of the coffee machine that you use?
Brilliant review thank you
Lovely video thanks for sharing 👍 🥰
This looks just like the Breville toaster oven thing I just got! Mine has a bagel setting instead of crumpets lol
with the courgette, try cutting it into thin rounds, they’re much nicer fried! not as mushy
I love when you are talking close to the camera, i feel like we're huddled together and you're telling me a secret
Sam and Ines 😂😂🤧🤧and I am the pretender 😂😂😂😂
What is it like to clean? Was tempted to buy a ninja duo thingy - but my mate says they're awful to clean inside
How long is pre heat ? Love the video awesome Job
Now the ovens been replaced is it time for new knives haha xx
This is a very important video for society. Well done Grace.
The air fried zucchini need to be cut in smaller wedges with oregano added to the breading. Then dipped in marinara sauce. You will love it. It’s a thing where I live near Chicago
Just found your review , it was great . I don’t use air fryers but need a new oven and I’m not sure which sage oven to go for ,this with air fryer or the normal mini oven ? How did you find just the oven sitting , I need to make a decision 🥴!!!!! Help .
Lo e this video review, please do some more recipes using this oven. I'm going all in and buying one 😱😱 have you any idea as too energy saving ie: on slow cooking V using oven or slow cooker. Thank you.
I’ve been so curious about that kind of air fryer. Looks like a good investment.
