  • Day hike up to the almost vertical drop-off of the portals. The view from the east portal down over the glaciers on Mt Baker is breathtaking. This trail provides some of the spectacular views of Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan. Constant vistas of mountain grandeur while hiking including Table Mountain, Coleman Pinnacle and Northern Cascades. Phenomenal scenery from start to finish. Stunningly overwhelming views where you really have to come up yourself to see it. A must do in the Mt Baker region.

This is so gorgeous it doesnt even look real!! We dont have hiking poles but it looks like we would need them for this hike

I know right? Well-fitting to say "unreal" panoramic views! Yeah, trekking poles are good to have for certainty and stability on steep, rocky slopes, snowfield crossings etc. Thanks Jen & Drew!

Thank you for posting this. Someone recommended the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail for photographing and observing Pika, so I am planning a trip to western Washington for that purpose. This video of yours is the first one I have watched as part of the research I am going to do before heading to the Mount Baker area. Your video gives me a really good idea of what the terrain and habitat are like. Thank you!

Hi would you mind sharing what day of the year this was? Trying to get an idea of the conditions! Thanks!

I believe it's either Wednesday or Thursday of the 2nd week of August last year. It's definitely less crowded on weekdays.

The excellent basic videography before edit is the incredibly beautiful trail and panoramic area East of Mt. Baker, but then you added in every possible video transition under the sun that makes it gimmicky, and then you add the "modern" elevator music. I think you took an amazingly good idea with great footage and created a modern frankenstein out of those ingredients. Sorry, but the truth can hurt sometimes.

I happened to like this kind of presentation. I'm more interested on direct visual content information rather than too much talk or how smooth one shot was connected to another. Someone said that Creativity is intelligence having fun. I'm sure you have your own style, but it's not the standard for everyone to follow. If it's not my cup of tea, I won't attack someone's artistic ideas but rather give encouragement and suggestions to improve and thrive. You're right, words to truth can hurt but you must have felt so good after writing your comments.

@@bryanmichael1412 Actually I did not feel good about giving you my truthful critical feedback. Not at all, because i know how much work we put into our You Tube channel videos. Still, you must have wondered why you aren't getting more viewership, or perhaps you simply don't care. If you don't care, feel free to ignore my comments. I don't know your motivations, so maybe you don't care how many people like your videos. IF that's the case, then my comments are just noise. Anyway, whether you areppreciate it or not, it's my gift to you. regards, dan
