      Nice to meet you Ken! Thanks for checking out our video ☺️You will love it up there! I would definitely check Gaia satellite layer (fresh Sat cloud free mode) to see what the snow level is like up there. Yellow Aster Butte (we were just up that way and plenty of people at trailhead) so that should be fine but maybe some small patches of snow you may cross. Not sure about artist point right now but you can always call the Ski resort or a local business up that way to see if the road is open or recent trail reports

      Forgot to mention after hearing from someone and checking trail reports, heliotrope ridge trail road up to trailhead got washed out and so it adds an extra 3 to 4 miles.

      Thank you, Jack for stopping by. The Heliotrope Ridge Trail to the Coleman Glacier off Mt Baker was absolutely incredible indeed! We would love to summit the mountain on that route sometime.

    Yellow Astre is one of my long time favorites. The trail up to the top of Tomyhoi Peak is terrifying but well worth the climb. Another trail the branches off that trail is Tomyhoi Lake at Gold Run Pass. Love the hi def video. Really nice. If you ever come back up to Mt B you should hit the south side up HWY 20 Baker Lake rd. Schriebers Meadow and Scott Paul Trail is stunning.

      @@HelenandTimTravel Great job with the video, it was top-notch!! I loved watching it.
      We live in the Seattle metro area, so we do get up to the Mount Baker area a couple of times each summer/Fall- as noted it's our favorite area around here.
      Enjoy, I look forward to seeing more of your videos!

    Great video! I am glad to see the experience was so impactful for you, and not too strenuous. That toilet sent me all kinds of red flags, but it is nice that it is out there I suppose. 😅 As someone who feels like he was born with terrible knees, I appreciated the comment on the flat trails, haha. The last time I went hiking my legs were shaking like Maraacaas with each step (in a fun way!/?).

    • @HelenandTimTravel
      @HelenandTimTravel  3 года назад +1

      Thank you, Mark! The place definitely left a mark on us. Hahaha the toilet! It almost seemed like we were going to show all of it. We both have terrible knees so day hiking is way easier for us than backpacking now 😅 hahahaha shaking like maracas. Don’t meant to laugh but that’s pretty funny

    Do you need a state pass to park and hike?

    • @HelenandTimTravel
      @HelenandTimTravel  4 месяца назад

      You can use a northwest forest pass. They have day or annual. You can also use the America the Beautiful Interagency National park pass to. Here is more info for the Mount Baker Recreation Pass and Permits website 😃

    These are my old stomping grounds; I've hiked these trails and yodeled these mountains. Interesting fact: Mt. Baker is the snowiest place on the planet, averaging more annual snowfall than any other peak. 🤍

      You have a beautiful stomping grounds! So awesome you lived there. We often talk about moving up to Bellingham. We heard that fun fact about snowiest place on the planet from our ski instructor at Mt Baker ski area, and we were so surprised! Thanks for watching ☺️
