That Gucci outfit should not have been there. Yeah theres a reason and it does look like a cute outfit but for a royal wedding why wear a cardigan? It's the chance to wear amazing summer dresses not a cardigan for a game of cricket or whatever. I thought it was awful.

Maybe it was not meant to be body con, the silhouette was supposed to be structured, there was seaming at the bust and down the sides and the neckline was also structured. There's a conspiracy theory, that when they exchanged vows, the priest said something about children in marriages and they supposedly smiled secretly at each other, so ..... maybe she's pregnant ????

Actually Queen Elizabeth's wedding gown was heavily embroidered with flowers of the Commonwealth nations, so it's kind of a tradition, although the dress was extraordinarily heavy by modern standards.

Her dress was so gorgeous. I feel like people that think it was boring just don’t have much of a taste level. Not everything has to be an over the top, floral, chiffon, sheer, lace, sleeveless mess. The dress was so simple and clean and it let her shine. She was literally radiating. You can never go wrong with natural beauty + daisy white.

But it wasn't executed well. You should look up crown princess Viktoria of Sweden's wedding dress. That's how you do a simple but beautiful wedding dress moment. But if it was fitted as nice as Viktoria's dress it would've been amazing. Now it was just meh.
Plus did she not purposefully choose a dress that was easier to make, less expensive and give a load of money that would've been spent on a dress to charity?
It had a sort of late medieval sleek princess vibe. That's where princess silhouette, princess lines, etc. comes from. A kirtle!

Everyone keeps saying that Megan's dress was boring but you know what it's fucking tiring seeing these over complicated dresses. I thought it was a beautiful, simple, sophisticated dress and that was what she was going for. There was an article in vogue uk talking about Megan's style and they kept bringing up the same great point: Megan knows what looks good on her and we have practically never seen her look bad, she's always on point! Why do we always look to over complicate things!

The dress itself is beautiful, however it did not fit her correctly. Meghan is a beauty, she was glowing during the whole ceremony (also, how cute is her Mom). But! If the idea was for the dress to be structured, then the designer could not deliver. The only reason the whole look was not a mess is Markle's beauty.

Darts where missing in the bust, arm holes were tooo big: the designer should have been fired....and the evening dress looked like a high end hotel bed sheet. I thought harry's exs had paid off the designers that's how bad I thought it was.

It was pale yellow I think...it did look white in most photos.
She was supposed to. Traditional weddings include bridal party members wearing white. She took care of the children so the white fitted.

The dress was reportedly pale yellow and none of the others who helped with the children ie.: the mother of the two boys who also helped with the children wore blue. The other mothers who helped with the children wore various other colors. Oprah abandoned a pale yellow dress because she was concerned it would show up as white on camera.

Meghan’s dress design seems best on someone with a statuesque figure - long waist / torso. Meghan’s torso is more square and her waist is wide and shorter so I think it’s almost impossible to properly fit a design like that on her, despite being custom. The neckline was beautiful but the design of the dress drew the eyes to her torso, at least to my eyes. And I also question whether her sleeves were slightly too long - as if they were cut for someone taller with longer arms.
And yes, I understood the proposal / concept of Meghan dress style, this clean simple and elegant thing( I personally love), but yet....no.Princess Charlene of Monaco, of exemple, she married in a very similar vibe than Meghan but made it a hundred times prettier and elegant, so...

And could you design a dress half as good? There is not just 1 aesthetic (the body con, floral, decadent, ballgown). Hers was structured beautifully. And the lack of detailing added to the aesthetic of the dress. The neckline and sleeves complimented each other. She looked immaculate and elegant.

It's cos it's. Wedding so no one is trying to be extra and a lot of the worst looks come from people trying too hard and failing(hello grammys) . Weddings are too boring for extreme reactions.
For anyone that thinks Meghan’s dress was too simple:
1) She can’t upstage Kate’s dress because she married the future king of England, while Meghan married Harry who is 6th in line for the throne
2) Obviously the queen likes it because she had to approve everything that was included in the wedding.

Her upstaging Kate would never be an issue precisely because she’s the wife of the 6th in line. Think of Andrew’s wife, Sarah, she wore huge puffy sleeves, a long train, tons of bows and embellishments, a big A embroidered on the train, etc. The idea that the queen has to approve dresses is also false, and Meghan later said the queen didn’t even see it until it was finished. It was simple because she chose it that way

I totally disagree with you on the darker blue dresses. I think their color was fantastic! Not everyone wants to wear or likes pastel, so I think the color choice was a good compromise for those who like darker colors.

hello my name is yeri that’s actually not a thing. It’s her wedding so the center of attention that day it’s her not Kate. And normally it’s Kate who dresses more boring/plain, Meghan serves a look usually. This dress was just not fitted at all.
Just so you know (from an English person who was working at Windsor that day) the reason there was a high amount of celebs, much like the choice to deviate the ceremony from Westminster Abbey was a showing of a relaxing of the royal family in contemporary times. And also all invitees are part of charities that the royal family support or great philanthropists and so its seen as a thank you to them to be part of such a prestigious occasion. Also the queen is famous for always combing her colourful outfits with black patent bags and most English people try to guess what is in there, many people believe she has dog treats for her dogs and a list of names she has to remember.
The dress looked so amazing in the official wedding portrait, the angle and lighting was good and the dress looked more fitted
Phillip Treacy is why most of the hats are quite outlandish, but he's very well regarded and known for that style so I can see why they choose those hats

Bigger hats are for Ascot, you can't wear a big hat when your going to be sitting and watching a ceremony.
I have no idea if you know this -- considering you sound like an American -- but there was actually a dress code for this wedding. Boring to you is respectful to the Brits. They were are church NOT the MET gala. In order to be a good stylist you need to understand the event and the expectations.

Hi only just discovered your channel and very interesting to hear an American take on the royal wedding fashion.
It made me laugh when you called the queen my Queen 😁
Some of these royal looks can seem a bit outdated because of their formality, but it's important to understand they are incredibly formal affairs and the female guests were requested to wear hats. And you will have seen many of the males dressed in formal tails.
I do think Beatrice and Eugenie need some direction as although they need to look formal, the outfits they choose make them appear much older than their years and look so frumpy. There must be formal outfits out there that can be more flattering for them.
Although Oprah's outfit was generally pretty I thought it was far too tight across her bust.
Also you kept referring to the wedding as a summer wedding, it was in spring, May, which is a very difficult month to dress for as it can be either cold and wet or warm. I wondered if many of the women had two outfits, just in case.

Most of the women wore hats, but those ones that are like a part hat with something very decorative are called fascinators (he calls them head pieces). I love his comments and agree with most of his opinions, he's still learning.

Most of those are Philip Treacy hats. And the fact that you didn't mention him was awkward since you have the I know everything about fashion attitude. And if you know little bit about Alexander McQueen you would know who Philip Treacy was. No hate. Just surprised. They are tacky for sure but it's the whole point.
