During the HP Recovery to factory settings on my pc, a cation window about the pc not being plugged in popped up. My pc is plugged in to a wall outlet. The caution window blocks the recovery window, and it can't be closed or dragged. It blocks the status bar of the recover window behind it. Is the recovery still running, or does it stop once that caution about running on battery power is displayed? It has been like this for 2 hours now.

@@HPSupport thank you. I was trying to re-install windows 10 on my HP pc, after upgrading to windows 11 some months ago. My down grade to W10 wasn't successful, but I was able to reinstall W11 again with a recovery USB I made before attempting the downgrade. I did use your support web pages, they were very helpful.
What I did when the battery warning was there after my initial post here, was to turn off my pc and start over with the W10 recovery usb that I made with the help of your web site, and it did load files and tried to install that time, but ultimately got a fail message and it looked like the file with the bios wasn't found. I tried updating the bios with no luck so I went through the whole process again using a recovery usb for W11 that I had made before trying to down grade to W10, and that worked fine. Your support pages are very helpful.
W11 drives me nuts with the stacked like folders and spread sheets on the task bar, and the pop up window whenever I open a spread sheet 🙂 hence I wanted to go back to W10.
We are delighted to hear that it is working!
