There is an BIOS update that keeps kicking in (and failing) and I can't escape the loop!!! I have tried the recovery BIOS path... it runs, does the recovery but as soon as it is done, it goes back to the BIOS update and I can't break the cycle. ESC gets me the window for a split second, but I can't get it to boot to a USB with YOUR BIOS repair software. This is very disappointing. The usb ports remain connected even with the laptop turned off. I need to access the bios to change the erp setting. In windows 10 there is no way to turn off the usb ports along with the laptop.

What a complete joke. - Laptop rebuilt - left updates to complete, rebooted, watched a bios update run, rebooted.. then nothing. Black screen. Fan spinning. Nothing else. Removed back and disconnected battery after an hour of waiting, followed usual "reset" steps (25+ years in IT) and all it does when powering on is spin the fan for 10 seconds. Nothing else. How can this issue not be resolved yet.. This is a friends laptop so now I'm looking at buying them a Lenovo to replace it. This is SHOCKING service from HP. This weeks' £30k HP order will be my last.. off to Lenovo from now on. Sickening.
