@@StixGolfGear why are your US options better than UKs? 2 different colour options, doesn't say golf clubs come with bag or headcovers like it does for the US.
Hey Rick, I just purchased these clubs about 2 weeks ago now and I've played 3 rounds with them so far. Overall like you said the driver performance is superb, and I have found that the 52 wedge is my go-to for chipping as I tend to thin the 60. One thing I'll add is the black paint has started to scratch off a bit on the face of my sand wedge. As for the bag, its a huge upgrade from my old bag (bought used and cheap) so I am very happy with it! Finally, the PGA superstore near me actually had these in-store and I was able to test these clubs for about an hour before I bought them. I recommend them for any golfer who doesn't want to shell out thousands for a custom fit set.
@@JM-qt5mg I love the weight in the driver and the woods. Irons felt a bit light but I'm hoping once my shafts get replaced they'll be more comfortable and less whippy. Hope this helps!
I just started to learn how to golf my brother in law got me into it and gave me some of his old clubs, and now I’m hooked! Videos like these will help me tremendously when I’m ready to move on from my old Callaway steelheads, I’ll pass those on to another in need. Thanks keep these videos coming!
Funny, I just ordered this set 2 days ago, so I love the timing on the current year’s model review. FYI for anyone, they’re currently $675 for the full set through cyber Monday, which to me makes them the best bet for right now. Weird that they don’t offer as much customization on the UK site. In the US you can get lefty clubs, regular or senior/women’s shaft.
It's good to see new company's coming onto the scene and proving another option for affordable decent equipment. Thanks for doing another review on the Stix Rick. Interested to see what the future holds in golf brands!
The improvements from last year's version is very nice too see. These clubs are still stunning and the minimalist is beautiful! I think these might be my next ones after doing a bit of saving.
This past May, I hadn’t played golf for about 25 years. I bought this set for my son-in-law’s birthday. Shortly after, my wife and I visited and played golf with my daughter and husband. I absolutely loved the set and bought some for myself and started playing golf again. Shortly after, I upgraded to the Ping G430 set with the PLD Anser 2 putter. However, I didn’t upgrade because the Stix set was not good. For a beginner or even mid-handicapper, they’re still very good clubs. I’m still not sure I hit my G430 driver any better than the Stix driver. The Stix 5-wood was phenomenal. If there’s any noticeable improvement in my new set, I’d say it’s in the irons and putter. The Stix set was good in that department, but the G430 irons, gap wedges, and PLD putter are just really good (at least for me). Bottom line, I agree with Rick, pound for pound, the Stix clubs are just that good. Do I feel like I got an upgrade by switching to Ping? Yes. But I paid over three times as much for a full Ping set versus the Stix set that was maybe just a little bit less confidence inspiring. If your budget is around $1k for a full set of golf clubs, these Stix will make you happy.
I love the honestly you give when you do these club reviews. Love that you stay true to us viewers. Whether it’s a paid deal or not seems you stay true to your heart and keep it real with us. Thanks for that Rick!! Would love a new set of clubs.. full bag would be great!
i’m currently playing with my dads, old 2001 Callaway X-14 Steelheads and don’t even have any proper Wedges. This set would absolutely be perfect for me so i can improve my game and finally break 85. Loving the content Rick, all the way from South Africa.
Generous as always Mr. Shiels. Win or lose, I love all your content. Truly, watching your videos has kept me and my family informed and has changed our games completely. Top notch!!

I’ve got some super old clubs now! After playing golf for two years Ive definitely out grown them length and performance wise. I would love a new set of clubs. Im an og viewers thanks Rick!!
It never feels like you’re forced to stray from an honest opinion, I appreciate a true review! Been eying this set for awhile now so it’s nice to hear how they play! Sadly won’t be able to purchase any clubs till next year sometime but I’m excited for the content you continue to put out! Thanks for all the tips on improving my game!
I've been following your golf videos as a new beginner golfer. You've helped me tremendously from fixing my grip/slice to hitting better wedge shots. I love the content and these clubs look awesome. Currently rocking my grandpa's old clubs as a starter set.
Love the vids. Just started golfing and you're the reason I'm beating my friends and they've been golfing for years...I'm 4 months in!!! Thank you so much
Was literally looking at purchasing a set of these the other day (before this video) as an entry level set. But without any real knowledge and no way of knowing what they are like I decided against it. Cheers for the video Rick, your professional input helps people that don't know what they're doing make the right choices. This set may be back on the cards
Interesting review. Really liked the way they performed for you. And they do look nice. Moving from Canada to Playa del Carmen next month and they would look nice in my bag. But are they worth the price? You’ve got me thinking.
If you take golf seriously whatsoever you will regret purchasing these clubs within a year. You will always be left wondering what if I had purchased a more premium set, and eventually you'll buy a legit 2nd hand set.
I just started to learn how to golf about 6 months ago, In this time I spent countless hours watching your RUclips videos and they have helped me so much. I am not the best golfer (i just recently broke 100 for the first time), but I am always trying to get better and practice almost every day. I use my brothers old set of generic clubs that he had in highschool, and I'd love to get these new set of clubs to help my game! Thanks for another awesome video!
I would absolutely love to have this set of clubs! As a pretty casual golfer, this would definitely fit my style, and I don't have a ton of money to spend on new clubs!
Senior beginner here just getting back into golf!Really like your videos! Very informative! Look forward to your unbiased analysis! Have a good day mate!
Just picked up golf this year and stumbled onto your channel purely by wanting to improve! So happy I have as I am striking the ball with greater consistency and accuracy!
Love the breakdown on the clubs! I’ve been using hand me down clubs from my grandfather for the last 10 years and am in desperate need of an upgrade! Can’t wait till the next video!
Had my first experience with golf when I was around 6. I’m now 16 and just started playing golf regularly around 3 months ago. I’m already a 25 handicapper and still going strong which is all mostly thanks to you. I’ve watched almost all of your videos which has helped me a lot! My goal is to be under hcp 5 for the summer next year. I know it’s an ambitious goal but I believe I can achieve it. Especially with a set of these beauties☝️
Great review as always. I agree with you on putting a used set together. I’ve done this for a bunch of my friends and family getting into golf. I was able to get them fantastic deals on nice used clubs. And because of that it was more like an investment. As they would not loose value if they decided not to keep them, decided to upgrade or just swap them out for something different later. I doubt you could resell this kit for half of what it cost new.
Rick, I purchased the full set based off this video. I am a brand new golfer. I have had 5 lessons and played 6 full rounds with these clubs. Also spent over 20 times at the range. In 1 month I had a 5 iron and a 9 iron snap at the head. The clubs marked up so where some have half the finish missing. I ended up getting a set of ping g400 for driver, 5,3 wood and 3 hybrid as the ones that came with the set I couldn’t hit well. Also I switched out the putter too. This set for the money is not worth it. Id rather peace a used set for the same amount. Just my experience, thought I’d share.
My 7-iron just lost its head on my last round; no hard ground strike or anything. A month before that, my 5 wood had the same issue. I've seen here and there that any graphite shaft will be a little more fragile than steel, I just didn't realize how much more careful I have to be. Which is hard to do when you're just learning.
Have been loving your videos, I’ve just gotten back into golf, currently playing with a $80 set of Brosnans from fb marketplace, that was supposed to be the upgrade from the last set which was my dads ping eyes from the 80’s. To be fair the pings out perform the brosnans on every level…love that he is playing again and wants his clubs so we can play together, hate that now I have to suffer the Brosnans 😂😂
For someone starting off, this seems like a great initial set and they look fantastic (make the numbers on the irons in the same red as the bottom groove line, spot on)
You could even do that yourself if it's that big of deal. It looks better being murdered black imo. That's what they were going for here. Really beautiful set. It will work good for anyone that's not restricted by a sponsor or something.
Got a set of the full 14 piece set for $300 used. And wow these things are awesome! Hitting this driver longer than any other driver I've hit! Also the feel and look of the club are super premium for such a great price ( even at retail )
I must say, ever since I started watching your videos, my game has improved massively. Great tutorials and the way you present them. Keep up the good work. I'd love to have some one to one lessons with you. Cheers
Sounds like a very honest review as usual Rick. As a lefty, I recon I can't use these clubs per se, but if I could get 'em left handed I'd certainly consider them.
I’ve been looking at getting a first set of ‘proper’ clubs for a while now, watching your reviews has helped a fair bit to point me in the right direction on what to look for. These clubs look unreal and look to be a great first set 🤙🏼🇦🇺 Cheers for the vids mate 🍻
I'm still using the first set of Wilson d200 irons I bought a couple years ago to start golfing with. I like them a lot but they are starting to show the cheapness in the feel. My first official score close to two years ago was a 132. My goal by the end of this year was to break 100 and my cousin and I had an insane round a month into the season where I shot a 97. This game is truly unique and improving over this short time has been an absolute blast. Appreciate the tips and tricks along the way too of course, thank you Rick!
I’ve struggled with depression lately and have started playing golf as a way to cope with it. What a literal life saver it has been. I have a cheap set of Ben Ross clubs at the moment but would most certainly donate them to someone starting or in need of them if I were to win these!
My Friend was the Ben Ross rep and played off +3 and used the clubs in comps. winner of the over 35 England cannot be bad therefore nothing wrong with Ben Ross
Thankful for this video. I have looked into these clubs several times. In fact, they text me when I visit the site and look at the clubs. Thank you for testing them and being detailed with your report on them. I'd love a set like this!
Just got my little bro into the game when I was back home for a visit, he finds your videos far more helpful than my coaching haha! Love your content Rick, keep up the reviews!
Mate I’ve been golfing for about 2 years and have still got the same set of women’s clubs because my parents can’t afford anything else, I know I’m late to the video but you sending me these would help out my golf game tremendously
Value is key but these look good! Love the videos Rick... you have tremendously helped my golf game which has made me enjoy the game more than I ever have. Keep them coming brother!
Tudor Williams Very informative video, calling a spade a spade. As far as the wear marks are concerned this would suit me as I could check where I was hitting the ball on the club face. All in all I would be happy to win them, but not to nearly £1K no way.
@@tombertrand4630 I have been playing with these for a year - they are my second set of clubs I leave with my daughter back east. I need to do the same thing - the black on black for the numbers is ridiculous - my eyes are good, but I just can't tell the iron numbers. Will do that before I play again - I separate the irons in the bag, evens on one side and odds on the other, and still had a hard time telling the different irons apart.
Those clubs are beautiful. Everything I've ever done in my adult hobby life, especially in sim racing, has all been done in that minimalist black style. Great review!
There aren’t many things I like more than a blacked out golf club, especially when it’s wedges and putters. Would love to have this set in the bag! Great review, Rick! 👌
I agree there is nothing wrong with 2nd hand golf clubs but I have only ever had 2nd hand golf clubs my irons are Dunlo's. I use golf To help me physically and mentally(with my ptsd)
Came back to this video and checked the stix website, they’re upto £1100 now for the 14 clubs set, such a shame, they’ve completely missed the market they were originally hitting Edit: just seen the bag is now a £220 add on too and not included, just wow
Brother in law bought a set of these and man, they feel great. I play a full Taylor Made set and the Stix feel so soft and are SUPER forgiving. I honestly would play these and recommend them.
What makes you think that someone has to shoot at or below par to become a PGA Pro. You don't. It's more like 76-78 dependent on course (but back to back as it is a 36 hole test)... I will just assume you have never researched the PAT.
@@khaliphilemoyo607 Yeah.. You might need to take your own advice.. IF YOU NEVER NEEDED EVEN PAR TO BECOME A PGA PRO, YOU DON'T NEED IT TO SHOW YOU "STILL GOT" Pro status.. All he would need to do is pass the PGA PAT which would require him to shoot anywhere from 152-156 over two days, and in case you need help with the math, that's shooting a few shots OVER par.
@@GolfsGingerGenius1 Not me. I am the happiest I've been top to bottom in my setup.. (and I don't even carry a name brand iron set or wedge set) I hope these Styx go to someone in true need.
Love almost all your videos-entertaining and informative. Just love the accent. I could listen to you all day. I talk you up with all my golfing buddies and golfers I meet. Keep up the great work.
Regarding the scratches, I purchased a set of Callaway Black clubs a long time ago (5yrs +), but I was aware that the blacking would not last long so it was never an issue. I don't play very well but I have never mistreated my clubs by slamming them into the ground like I see others do, however my clubs have thrown me to the ground a few times ;)
I'm 5'7, 150 lb. And this comment at the end about what the standards are and if they work or don't work for you hits very close to home. As I can't quite get fitted yet, not in the budget, it hurts not having more options for someone short who has trouble driving the ball like I do. But boy, I love the way those clubs look.
I bought all my clubs at a second hand store called Goodwill. Most are Callaways. The Big Bertha driver cost only $10. That was the most expensive club. I could probably use a new set of clubs but since I have never broken 100 strokes and only play for fun you may want to give them to a serious golfer. I think I'll order the illegal balls you tested since I slice alot. ( less since seeing your video though) Thank you for your instruction videos
I would love these clubs Rick I just got into golf when my grandpa passed away because that was his passion. I wish I could’ve done this earlier but I’m having such a blast now, and learning so much!
Glad I found your channel, never had fitted clubs went in to buy a set and the guy stood me up against the wall and said,”standard “, is it worth it for an old timer like me to get fully tailored clubs, 72 years old and still swinging. Good luck with the channel, cheers Ken
Just bought a preowned 14 set. All were in plastic but the 6 Iron. Only thing wrong with them was just a tad bit of discoloration. I tried them out with a pro and loved them. Not bad for $550.00US. Thanks for the review!

As always Rick, thanks for the entertainment.

Amazing how generous Rick is I remember all the giveaways I’ve entered on his channel there’s probably a 100 by now. Maybe I’ll get lucky this time 🙌
🤞
@@StixGolfGear are you guys planing to start sales in india?
Just went on there site they are 25% off
I’m slightly sceptical about these “giveaways”
We never see the results. So for all we know he just says that, but doesn’t follow thru.
@@ankushdutta8583 We definitely ship to India, there are shipping costs associated with that and import fees that are charged to you by customs.
Sounds like a very honest review as usual Rick. As a lefty, I recon I can't use these clubs per se, but if I could get 'em left handed I'd certainly consider them.
GOAT golf youtuber, fresh set, but only because rick makes them look fresh.
I’ve been looking at getting a first set of ‘proper’ clubs for a while now, watching your reviews has helped a fair bit to point me in the right direction on what to look for. These clubs look unreal and look to be a great first set 🤙🏼🇦🇺
Cheers for the vids mate 🍻
I'm still using the first set of Wilson d200 irons I bought a couple years ago to start golfing with. I like them a lot but they are starting to show the cheapness in the feel. My first official score close to two years ago was a 132. My goal by the end of this year was to break 100 and my cousin and I had an insane round a month into the season where I shot a 97. This game is truly unique and improving over this short time has been an absolute blast. Appreciate the tips and tricks along the way too of course, thank you Rick!
Nice job mate. Great to feeling to have when you break a goal.
@@keemo93 thanks man, whole heartedly agree 👍
Just started watching your videos a couple weeks ago... you have help my son and I tremendously.. thankyou for the good work...
Hey Rick, I love the reviews and I’m always excited to see a new one of your videos come out. Keep up the hard work. Thank you!
So glad golf was there to help you through a tough time. Rooting for you!
@@nkimmanceify that’s awesome. I’ve just started off with the Ben Ross gold, only £350 brand new and are nice for me as a beginner :)
@@StixGolfGear thank you so much!
Hey Rick I loved this new style of review. Clubs looked good wouldn't mind this set. Alot better than my current set.
Glad you dig them! We have some killer Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals as well!
@@StixGolfGear Thanks so much for a reply. Great clubs you've got there and I love the black aesthetics.
Rick love your honest and fair opinion on the positives and negatives.
Would love to have the new Stix!
The STIX clubs look great. And I need new fairway woods and hybrid especially!
Thankful for this video. I have looked into these clubs several times. In fact, they text me when I visit the site and look at the clubs. Thank you for testing them and being detailed with your report on them. I'd love a set like this!
These look great.
Happy to see that they made strides in the right direction and even being comparable to a Callaway is amazing.
Goodluck to everyone👌
Great video, looking to get my first set of clubs soon hopefully Santa Shiels comes through for me 👌🏼
🤞
@@StixGolfGear 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Just got my little bro into the game when I was back home for a visit, he finds your videos far more helpful than my coaching haha! Love your content Rick, keep up the reviews!
Mate I’ve been golfing for about 2 years and have still got the same set of women’s clubs because my parents can’t afford anything else, I know I’m late to the video but you sending me these would help out my golf game tremendously
Value is key but these look good! Love the videos Rick... you have tremendously helped my golf game which has made me enjoy the game more than I ever have. Keep them coming brother!
Rick, I'm hanging on the edge of my seat for this "catch." The suspense is real. Great video so far, looking to see what this catch is.
Same🤣
Tudor Williams
Very informative video, calling a spade a spade. As far as the wear marks are concerned this would suit me as I could check where I was hitting the ball on the club face. All in all I would be happy to win them, but not to nearly £1K no way.
I love the channel! You're an awesome golfer!
@@tudorwilliams5612 powder athletes foot spray. After you strike the ball, there will be a circle through the powder where the ball hit the face
Great looking set even with the small drawbacks. Would love to see them fill in the club numbers with the same orange color as the bottom groove!
I painted the iron numbers with a coat of white fingernail polish and a coat of clear coat. Really works well.
I've been watching your videos now for about two years now and I think you have something great. Love the videos!
That murdered out look, it’s pretty sweet. I would love to have this set.
Glad you like the look of the clubs! We have some great Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals as well!
These clubs are beautiful. Would love to win these. Love this format if review. Keep up the good work
Pumped you like them! We have some solid Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals as well!
Those clubs are beautiful. Everything I've ever done in my adult hobby life, especially in sim racing, has all been done in that minimalist black style. Great review!
Really love how honest your review are!
There aren’t many things I like more than a blacked out golf club, especially when it’s wedges and putters. Would love to have this set in the bag! Great review, Rick! 👌
While they’re very expensive, PXG does make a dope lookin set of blacked out clubs. You should check em out if you haven’t seen em
Oh yeah I’d like to try that out to tell the truth I need lessons More but I like blacked out clubs If you want to send me some that would be cool
I agree there is nothing wrong with 2nd hand golf clubs but I have only ever had 2nd hand golf clubs my irons are Dunlo's. I use golf To help me physically and mentally(with my ptsd)
I would love to try these clubs... Thanks, Rick, for your generosity.
I just love that the market is getting these kinds of quality, affordable, full sets. Great stuff.
Glad you're pumped! Our goal is to make golf more accessible with quality clubs at a good price!
I've been eyeing these clubs for a few weeks now. I'm a beginner and didnt want to spend a small fortune. I'm glad these got a good review from you
I always appreciate Rick’s generosity, definitely deserves 2 mil
Came back to this video and checked the stix website, they’re upto £1100 now for the 14 clubs set, such a shame, they’ve completely missed the market they were originally hitting
Edit: just seen the bag is now a £220 add on too and not included, just wow
Inflation lol. Def would go with a Callaway set instead though for the same price.
You have put massive amounts of work into the channel so the 2 million is well deserved Rick. Very nice looking clubs
its just the accent... gets all the chicks, m8
Brother in law bought a set of these and man, they feel great. I play a full Taylor Made set and the Stix feel so soft and are SUPER forgiving. I honestly would play these and recommend them.
I just want to see these in person
I actually like the design of these, the dark theme is so different from other brands, would really love to give them a try!
Glad you like the look of the clubs! We have some great Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals as well!
Would love to get this set, currently playing with a set found in my grandads garage from 30 years ago. Would be a great upgrade.
Always love the sentiment of hand-me-down clubs, but an upgrade is due! We have some great Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals!
Amazing! As a college kid about to be a future nurse in a month, definitely would help the weekday plans when I’m not working! ⛳️
It's time you played 18 holes and shot level par to show us you've still got pro status Rick
What makes you think that someone has to shoot at or below par to become a PGA Pro. You don't. It's more like 76-78 dependent on course (but back to back as it is a 36 hole test)... I will just assume you have never researched the PAT.
@@mychaljw if you misinterpreted my response then learn to read
May I highlight the key words "you've still got "
@@khaliphilemoyo607 Yeah.. You might need to take your own advice.. IF YOU NEVER NEEDED EVEN PAR TO BECOME A PGA PRO, YOU DON'T NEED IT TO SHOW YOU "STILL GOT" Pro status.. All he would need to do is pass the PGA PAT which would require him to shoot anywhere from 152-156 over two days, and in case you need help with the math, that's shooting a few shots OVER par.
Now now you two we’re just here for the free stuff 😂
@@GolfsGingerGenius1 Not me. I am the happiest I've been top to bottom in my setup.. (and I don't even carry a name brand iron set or wedge set) I hope these Styx go to someone in true need.
Don't trust these reviews if there is a giveaway or an affiliate link in the bio peeps.
okay lil bro
( less since seeing your video though)
Thank you for your instruction videos
I really have enjoyed watching this review! Thanks for the honest input.
look amazing and i agree the number is small possibly to carry the theme of the red line in to the number to highlight it
I would love these clubs Rick I just got into golf when my grandpa passed away because that was his passion.
Good luck with the channel, cheers
Ken
I just got into golf and your videos have helped a ton! Thanks man
Just bought a preowned 14 set. All were in plastic but the 6 Iron. Only thing wrong with them was just a tad bit of discoloration. I tried them out with a pro and loved them. Not bad for $550.00US. Thanks for the review!
Love all your content constantly watch your videos any questions I have I refer to your videos and your knowledge trust everything you say and usually you are right
Looks amazing! Havent played in 7 years now and just started playing again your videos are very helpful, thanks!
In the past year I went from breaking 100 to breaking 80 actually shooting 76 in my last round
But I need new clubs since my set is very cheap like 25£
So would love to have these…keep up the good reviews rick
Nearly brought last years set but changed my mind at the last minute. This year's look to be even better. Thanks for the review.
I'm new to golf, just started this season. I looked up how to golf and your channel popped up. I've been watching ever since. I love the beautiful courses you play on. It's like I take a adventure every video please keep up your amazing content.
Like the look of these clubs, have been a huge fan of the channel and a golf junky / newbie. Like the reviews and how to videos.
Thanks for this video, just getting into golf and looking to find clubs. This was very helpful
Ive been curious about these clubs. Thanks for the in-depth review.
Excellent review. Appreciate your candid review.
Thanks, great review and insights for a first time golfer like me looking to buy my first set of clubs
Thanks for you reviews! They are all awesome!!
absolutely love this channel got turned on through the good good content. actually just moved recently and the movers stole my clubs so I am fingers crossed on this one! Cheers!!!
Watch you vids religiously to help with my game. Loads of helpful advice - thanks so much!
I typically play Taylormade clubs. But you certainly peeked my interest. Thank you for the quality of the content in your videos. Found your channel by accident and been hooked ever since. Greetings from California, USA.
Just got my set in the mail today and he’s right about the black finish coming off but as a whole I’m completely in love with these clubs
Having spent over 3k on SOME new clubs this year, I heavily encourage club manufacturers like these to produce quality products to perhaps influence the major manufacturers (I'm not naming names, but it rhymes with MaylorTade) to reduce their prices a bit. As always Rick, thanks for the entertainment.
Just ordered a set and got them in today! hopefully the weather is good for this weekend!
Just started out golf here in the Philippines, your videos are great specially the tutorial ones, really helped me with my first driving range.
Watch your videos all the time for club reviews. You do an amazing job! Currently looking at the Titleist t150 or 200s for irons but these caught my eye for the price.
Thank you for the honest appraisal of this unknown clubs and based on your evaluation, I will not be buying something I cannot try first. Thanks again.
