Sub 70 699 Pro irons (4-PW) - bought used off their website considered very good. Had the shaft AND grip I love so it worked out! Lol had them a yr now 🔥🔥🔥
Got fitted for a set of PXG 0211 dc2s, 70g regular flex Mitsubishi MMTs along with a 52, 56 degree forged wedges. Feel pretty solid but haven’t got a chance to play them on the course. Cobra F9 driver and 3 wood, fitted with a 50g Evenflow Riptide CB (regular) and Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue (regular
Pete I think the hardest thing about fitting a completely new beginner (someone who has virtually no golfing experience) is the fact that they do not have typical strike patterns on the face. I usually suggest buying a cheap hand me down set to try and get a feel for striking the ball before getting a fitting myself, a former master club fitter.
I’m just getting into golf. Got a hand me down set that were custom for a 6’3” big guy and I’m like 5” shorter and not a big guy. They are also extra stiff flex. I was told I need fitting because it’s doing me no good learning on things that are not comparable to my body style or swing. What do I do?
@@bgreenup4311 If the clubs are longer than standard you can just have them cut down by a technician to standard lengths. You still probably don't need to be fit, I would just have your clubs cut to normal lengths for you if they are extended.
@@bgreenup4311yeah it just sounds like you got unlucky. I’ve had a pair of hand me downs for like 9 years now and their still going strong haha I just now considered buying/getting fitted for another set the beginning of this season. I’d say just do what he said and find a technician that can shave the club down for your height
I want to give golf another shot after I tried it as a teenager 15 years ago. I don't like the idea of buying multiple sets of clubs to suit my experience level. Do you think it might work buying some mid-level or even pro-level clubs as beginner, even though it'll take more time/lessons to learn the craft? Learning piano as a young adult, starting with a cheaper instrument and then upgrading to a top-end instrument, I really struggled with habits/techniques that worked on the lower model but don't on the pro. I'd rather start with the harder model and develop the correct technique from the very start
@@fnherzog i have the same doubt. i started this group class a couple of months ago, and i'm still totally clueless about this game. i have this doubt because i experienced it with playing drums. at first i always bought cheap cymbals because i didn't want to spend too much money, and they always broke sooner or later. then i bought this more expensive cymbal almost 10 years ago and it's still there, like it's indestructible. so maybe i think i'd lean towards something more mid quality if and when i'll buy my first clubs. not something extremely expensive, but also not something cheap with a horrible quality
I bought Ping Zings in the early 90's. Still in great, almost new, shape. Finally upgraded to G425 irons and hybrids after a fitting. Wow, the technology has improved in 30 years!
"Don't let your ego get in the way" is one of the most important ones. I will also add that if you play at least semi-regularly, go get fitted - it's worth every penny (or shilling). Good video.
Club fitting is absolutely overrated. Hitting a 7 iron of different sets in a compressed time frame does nothing. There should be full sets a golf clubs to demo on course.
Don't care about ego. I buy what I think is pretty and what I like looking at. It's my money, and I'll spend it on exactly what I want. REGARDLESS of what anybody says or recommends. Which is why I bought a full set of the PING Blueprint irons. 2-PW. Literally the smallest blades on the market right now. An oh so beautiful to look at!
I've had a set of mizuno blades for15 years. The set is still in perfect condition and has taught me a lot about my game. I paid a good amount back when I bought them, but they turned out to be a great investment.
I still play my Ping Eye2 BeCu 3-LW purchased new in 1986 and they still do the job. New grips when needed and still get comments on these. Woods and hybrids are currently G30 which were purchased used over the last few years. At 71 years old, I can't really justify new clubs since other than a lose of distance, a solid strike produces a quality shot.
I bought a whole set of used Ping Eye2 irons off of Ebay last June after taking up the game last April. The whole set cost about $200, and they have been just perfect for me as I learn the game. My Dad (still playing at the age of 84) still uses a set of Ping irons from around that time, and I knew I wanted Ping irons from hitting with his cubs. Now that I am getting my ball striking down and swinging more consistently (after about 20 lessons with a pro and a lot of practice), I am going to invest in a custom set of Ping 710s (when they become available again - supposedly in April).
Similarly, I play Ping Zing 2. Hand-me-downs from my dad's boss, but I adore them. They look as new as the day he bought them and I've played with them since 2003. Tried swapping once or twice for newer stuff that mates have bought and they can't compare to my OGs.
For someone just starting out 6 months ago these videos are invaluable. I myself not knowing the in and outs watched endlessly while playing with a set of used clubs I bought for $100. Since then I have replaced all but one. I bought a set of good condition used irons for $75 of fb a few used woods and a new driver I was fitted for. So thanks for the time to help inform us new guys.
Mizuno MP-62 for PW-6I and MP-52 for 5I-3I. I bought them used in 2011 and they are getting rough. Love them, and planning to get fitted this year for a new set. Best $200 I ever spent on golf.
I actually bought a set of the Cleveland HB Launcher Turbo irons last year and love them. I’d been struggling with my irons last few years cause if back issues. Between them and getting back to basics on the range I saw a vast improvement in my game.
I haven’t golfed much in the last 10 years and decided I want to get back out there. Of course I’m now a senior so I went to a local 2nd hand clubs store where I bought a set of Taylormade Stealths from 2022. 3,4,5 hybrids and 6 thru SW irons all with senior shafts…they are by far the easiest clubs I’ve hit..it’s got me looking forward to getting on the course again…
I have been upgrading my bag over the last 2 years, went from a Wilson Package set much like the one you showed to one more suited for my game. All clubs are in regular flex: Cobra F6 10.5 driver, Cobra F7 3-4 wood 14.5, Nike VR_S 24 degree Hybrid, 3 older Vokey wedges in 52,56,60, Ping I3 o-size 4-PW, and Kirkland Signature Putter. I have found more enjoyment playing golf and have seen my game improve.
A few years ago I was custom fit for some new Mizuno irons and they really helped bring my game on, gave me confidence. I also took the time to understand what worked with them, the set up, and when it was time for a change I could do a bit of research and look for second hand that would suit me. I have had a set of second hand callaway maverick pro irons in the bag for a couple of years now and I love them!
Taylor Made LGC since 2005 and still driving it 300Yds with my R7. The only clubs i bought recently was a bag of Big Bertha's with an Odyssey Putter at a Lions Sale and i paid 12$. I was so happy. I kept the Putter of course and the 5 wood, 3 wood & a nice Taylor made 54 degree wedge.I bought the LCG's new for about 700$ fitted at golf town. LCG MEANING: Low Center of Gravity (LCG) creates shots that get airborne easily • Trajectory programmed for high flight and soft landings , they have extra metal on the back side near the toe of the irons wight help with miss hits.
Made a custom fitting last year and it ended up in new iron clubs, Ping G425. They really improved my game last season. I'm no low handicapper, started last season with hcp 29 and ended with hcp 24. So yes, I am pleased with my new iron set. I started play golf when I was about 50 years, now I am in my mid 60's. This year I will test out a new driver, have a Callaway Big Bertha, 6 or 7 years old.
I paid SEK 600 for a custom fitting, about €55. The sum was deducted when I bought my clubs, I paid about SEK 14,000, a little less than €1,400. I bought 9 clubs.
Played the Wilson Ci7 irons for years. Just upgraded to Mizuno JPX 800 Pro (yes I know they are 10 years old) and the feeling of the forged vs cast is amazing. I’m not a good enough ball striker for blades but a little better than the game improvement level too. I think the Mizunos are what I need as a mid-handicapper. Just got them so time will tell. And I love my Ping G410 Plus driver. Best driver I’ve ever owned.
I used cobra king forged tec one length irons which I picked up second hand with a driving utility iron second hand with kbs stiff shaft. Wasn’t fitted but they have completely transformed my game. Went from 24 handicap to a 7 in just over a year since I got them. All my clubs are second hand and so far they’ve all worked incredibly well considering nothing is fitted to me.
How tall are you? Just wondering as i can buy stock stuff and it fits fine. I still dropped a bunch on clubs, but the fitting was more about feel and helping misses. I'm super intrigued by the one length. I imagine it makes you so consistent. Any downsides, like distance gapping or too little height with the longer one?
@@AB-nv7bz I’m 6ft1 and never have an issue with stock clubs however in time I might get a fitting but right now my clubs work well so why bother. Love having forged irons as I know they’ll last forever.
@@TheKetchupDuck Interesting. I would imagine the one length makes less of a difference. Slight correction the forged clubs don't last as long as cast. They should still last a decade of heavy use, but cast clubs use harder steel so they are more durable.
I got fitted last year for a set of P790 and was able to get into the awesome 2019 version for a reduced price. The clubs are 2* upright and slightly shorter. Absolutely love the improvements that have followed.
I played a ping eye 2+ set my grandfather gave me from jr high until after college. Recently got a set of ping I59s and I am in. Love. The eye 2 forgiveness is top tier for beginners, but the workability of the i59 leaves me with my mouth open sometimes.
I bought used Mizuno ST 190 Driver and 3 wood, and Mizuno MP25 Irons. Played them for awhile and enjoyed them. Then I got them fitted for me, and I cannot stress this enough, it was a night and day change to my game. Hitting straighter, further, and more consistent, because now I have clubs at the right weight, lie angle and length for my height and swing. Worth every penny.
Brought a set of Cleveland TA7's about 12 years ago and still playing them! In real good condition but I've fallen in and out of love with the game about 20 times through those years!! ⛳ Will be replacing them this year though for a custom fit set. 👍
I am still using the TA6's having had them 18 years and they still do the job, but like you I think its time for a change its just a question of what to with all the options now available!
Just was fitted for the first time a month ago..Srixon Zx5 irons and absolutely love them. I made the mistake of buying a few sets off the rack (only have been playing for less than two years) so understand dealing with making this mistake! Get fit! It makes a big difference.
Great content, as always!! Got fitted for Mizuno JPX 850 forged about 7 years ago, and absolutely love them. Fitting made a HUGE difference. One recommendation I would make to most amateur golfers such as myself, if you invest the $ in forged clubs, spend the $ on a good set of head covers. It wil certainly pay dividends in ensuring your clubs stay pristine, avoiding the denting and scuffing from bag clatter. It may not seem the “cool” thing to do, your clubs will last far longer, saving you $ from having to purchase new ones when yours look beat up. Great video Pete!!!
Does it make sense to get fitted if you are just starting out? I just played for the first time and don’t have my own clubs. Some people tell me it’s better to start with the right clubs
thanks, my brother in law, a single digit handicap golfer game me the same advice. your video is great for a beginning golfer like me. started playing golf a few months ago. i have been playing with a set of assorted hand me down clubs from 40 years ago, so i am considering buying a new set of irons. i will definitely do at least the static fit, and take some lessons. my brother in law says spend the money on lessons, as "you cant buy a game" meaning buying expensive equipment wont improve your game.
I’ve got the Mizuno Mp 60’s. they are from 2006 and still have loads of life left in them. They also in my opinion look as good as any new iron on the market👍
I have that exact same Wilson set. My golf instructor said the same thing you did. He said "normally I'd say you can't buy your way to a better score, but in your case I'd recommend it"
Been rocking the Nike pro combos for 20 years about and still hit them great. Great condition even with being banged around for so long. Still have the 975J driver that gives a baby draw and 250yrds. Went for a fitting for first time and amazed at how the new tech feels and flies. Switching to the p770 and sim2max but keeping the Nikes for awhile. So excited. The 921 forged felt awesome as well just didn't get the same consistency as p770.
Taylormade Firesole - Bought new in middle school and still using it at age 38 just changing the grip. Still hits solid and love the contact feel. It definitely ain't broken yet, and too much memories with the highschool team to let go. Driver, Greatest big Bertha original, just amazing still.
This was timely (for me as I'm now second guessing the package set I purchased to "get into the game") and fantastic! Sound wisdom presented in a comprehendible and entertaining fashion. Great content and not surprising coming from you.
If your just getting into the game a box set is just a starter set and what you need. You don’t need the high dollar stuff right away. Learn the game and progress your way up. A lot of these bad “box set” clubs are good as or better than a set of 5-10 year old 2nd-3rd owner name brand clubs. Enjoy yourself out there.
Brand name clubs won't fix a doo doo swing. use your new club money on lessons first. I'm putting off a new driver until I get some lessons on that part of my game. I hit all my clubs fairly long except driver it's 💩
In the last year or two I'm just starting to get to the point in my game where I do believe that new and better clubs will help me tremendously. My handicap is down to 14. I just got fit for a new putter and am waiting for that to come in the mail. I've spent very little on clubs before that purchase. Since I started whacking golf balls around in my back yard, I've had a set of Ram irons (4-9) that have treated me so well, but have to be well over 15 years old at this point. Playing sporadically through high school and college and now to the last two seasons where I have played 50+ rounds in back to back years, I know my gaps from one club to the next. I have a consistent shot shape. Switching my irons scares me so much! I know I want something that will last long and give me super similar distances and gaps from my trusty Ram irons.
All good points Pete! Currently playing a set of TM RocketBladez irons (4-9) I bought new just 2 years ago. They are in pretty decent shape and have suited me well for the time I've had them. However, I'm looking to hopefully get fitted for a new set of irons this summer and so far the TM P-790's are at the top of the list but not dead set on them. Hopefully going to be a great summer!
Ive been golfing for 3 years. I was given a cheap box set to get me started and after a year, I bought a near mint set of Mizuno mp32s. I love playing blades. I love how they look and how they feel. I love knowing that if I don't hit it perfectly, then it was 100% me. It has pushed me to play better and smarter.
This is so true. My grandpa gave me his jpx 800 pro irons that were immaculate and I just couldn’t get on with them, I got fitted at ping as I live near Gainsborough, paid my fitting cost and bought the spec of irons I was fitted for online. Absolutely love them, got g15 irons, had to get the original awt instead of the 2.0 but played my best round I’ve ever played
I have Ping i15 irons. I still love them, they're in great condition, and have lasted me almost 10 years. The only thing I am thinking of changing up is going to a Titleist Vokey for my PW because the Ping PW feels a little clunky at times.
Taylormade P790s, bought second hand about a year ago and love them. They were in nearly new condition when I bought them, and after 2 - 3 rounds a week over 6 months, they still look great.
Great video. I am currently playing used Callaway XR, not bad but not my fav. I went and got fitted and my 3 favorite are the PXG Gen 4 , Ping 425, and Srixon ZX5. I am getting a opportunity to buy the Srixon for an amazing price in the specs I fitted for, so I will be getting those in the next month or two. So looking forward to it.
Second hand ping g425 red dot sold my old clubs, but before I got them went to my local pro and he told me what shaft and head I needed was best advice I ever got
Great explanation Peter. Anyone just getting into golf see this too. Another joy of this game for me is the multiple opportunities of meeting like minded people. I met a friend once in a golf course and after a discussion about my then dwindling portfolio, he got me hooked on the trending copy trading method of investing. Two years later, with around $300,000 every quarter passively, it's all smiles and no regrets. Apart from the pleasures of the game, the networking aspects is quite as beneficial.
Amazing! The places we visit place our lives on a trajectory of where we should be. Opens us up to a whole lot of great choices. Glad you got what you needed.
Hi there, is your friend a trader or sth? My portfolio ain't looking good at the moment. With talks of recession and all, got me thinking about other options than what I have now.
@@virgilhall6866 He'd be the dumbest trader I ever came across, if he was one Lol. He's a full time civil engineer. He told me about one Josephine Guevara Laporte's popular social trading program. A superb hands off approach to investing across the markets. Little wonder she's been mentioned by Jim Cramer multiple times. You can look her up. It's just her fees you gotta consider since her methods are very much proprietary.
@@virgilhall6866 I started with a seed allocation of $1.5m and she takes 10% of the profits she makes. Fair enough for me considering the consistency. I don't even have to hand over funds, the whole magic of this method happens right in your connected account. Beats everything I've been doing prior to this.
Got fit for zx7 in January as a 24 handicap. They arrived two weeks ago and they are more forgiving than my 20 year old clubs. Now a 15 handicap and improving daily.
I have the Ping G425 irons, i got fitted and bought them the month they were released. I clean them every round and they still look new. Best clubs ive ever bought
Bought a set of PXG 0311 irons about 6 years ago. Other than changing grips on a regular basis, last year got new shafts fitted after having a fitting session. Was put into the same make of shafts and stiffness but am now playing 110g shafts. At the time of buying the original irons they were expensive but as I have not changed every 2 - 3 years as I usually do, they have been a great investment
When I first started playing I bought a set of second hand Taylormade Tour Burners in 2012. Played them until a couple months ago when I upgraded to Taylormade sim2 irons.
The story about your back hit me in a good way. A good few years back I was diagnosed with multiple herniated discs and lardosis of the thoracic spine. I've just recently started playing again and trying to hit my old nike forged blades is going as to be expected, horribly. Going to be a shame to take such a beautiful looking club out of the bag but it's looking like the best answer at present. Love your videos Peter.
I got fitted for a set of Wishon Golf 752tc irons 14 years ago. They still work nicely after my 10yr break although I am getting them checked next week.
Hi Peter, I’m a 10 marker and I bought a set of the Taylormade P790s on the back of many internet reviews. They are very forgiving but hard to work. On my bad days, I love them, when I’m hitting them well I find my distance control is lacking. Flyers will go way long. Wedge I hit about 108 metres. Some times when you connect it’s out to 120 metres of way over the back of the green. I suppose it’s the price of not being a single marker.
Started in golf with a Wilson box set about 4 months ago. 3 months i had my swing down so bought some used jpx 921s. Huge improvement instantly for less than $500 (4-GW)
I have Titleist Oversize + Black irons and have had them for 28 years. They are still in really good shape. With new grips every year they still feel as good as they did when I bought them.
I bought a set of ping G-2 irons back in 2004ish and 12ish years later I purchased a set of Ping G series irons, honestly I don't think there was any increase in performance in my game, the money would have been better spent on a more pre season, golf swing, tune-up sessions over the years ! the thing that attracted me to the ping brand in the first place was the non-shiny finish of the irons. The irons were still as visually boring when I sold then as they were when i bought them, there is something to say for that lack of bling finish for sure! A buddy of mine was selling a set of G-30 irons that were the same color code as mine. I said thank-you very much , I am looking forward to to see how they perform, probably more of the same. Great video Peter!!!
9 handicapper. I play Cobra F7 one length with a standard shaft. I got them off an auction site on a whim thinking I’d give the one length clubs a try. I like the one length, with the exception of the big gap between my 56 degree sand wedge (1 length) a lob my 60 degree lob wedge (standard length). The biggest improvement in my game came when I started paying for a better golf ball. I get better and more consistent distances playing a premium ball.
Honma TW 747P. I'm a 17 handicap and I hit these so well. Due to the stronger loft I've gained some extra distance. I also wanted to mention I'm 67 and I hit my 8 iron 160 yds. The reason for my higher handicap is mostly focus and consistency. I love these clubs.
I started playing golf in July 2020, after borrowing clubs I wanted my own so bought, via a social media site, possibly 3rd hand Wilson x31’s due to availability and cost - £40 with bag and pull trolley. I then bought packages of lessons and eventually allowed my self to replace the Wilson clubs. I set myself a budget of £60 per club and used 2nd hand golf clubs for driver, hybrid and woods, using advice from my coach and making sure I checked reviews from 2017/2018, got myself some adjustable clubs to go with me on my next golfing journey. This year, I treated myself to a set of mizuno irons 2018 hot metal which I lengthened and am now having to adjust to the greater distance that these clubs and my improved swing have given me.. By far though, I value the lessons and the coach player relationship I have, regular lessons mean I can show my stats from arccos and what I see and target the session that I take to the range that see results on the course. Lessons and fitting I think are under valued both in cost and time. 4 sessions a year will improve your game no end compared to no lessons. Great video.
Finally upgraded my set from a $500 half set I got at the pro shop down at the golf course 2 years ago. To a set of Ping G425 best decisions I have made it's like night and day playing with these clubs the feel is amazing
I have Taylormade m2 tour irons, bought them new in 2018 and they have little wear on them after 4 40 plus round seasons. I love them, very forgiving and perfect mid trajectory
Just been fitted into a set of Srixon ZX5s. Only took about 3 weeks from ordering to the being in. Can't wait to pick them up and getting them in the bag.
Ive got the MP-18 Mizuno SC irons and I’ve had them for almost 5 years now, and aside from wear marks on the face and typical dings they are in great condition still
I have Cleveland TA5 irons from 2002! They have been absolutely incredible. I just purchased Mizuno JPX 923s after all these years. Can’t wait to see how they perform.
Got fitted by Drummond Golf in Australia. Asked to look at a forged iron (can’t remember the exact iron). They had me hit some shots and suggested (diplomatically) they were a little bit beyond my ability and gave me 6 other makes and asked me to spend a couple of hours hitting the 7 iron without looking at the manufacturer’s name and make a choice. I ended up with the Ping i200s. That was March 2018. Love them to this day, and I half believe they love me.
Newbie here fancied giving golfing a go and it gets me out with my 10 handicap brother and a few friends. Im doing something similar to this video I raided my aunts shed and found some Takana pro impact rusty irons and borrowed my grandads benross v12 driver and played a few rounds with them. Starting to get the bug after minimising my driver slice and being more consistent with the irons so after asking around i was told a set of ping irons would see me, found a bargain 5 to wedge G400 irons for £180 in great condition and im hopefully picking up a taylormade sim max driver for £150 next week. Not great with wedges yet so a cheap 3 wedge set to see me for 6 months untill I work out how I play should do me for now. The way I see it is if your gonna spend the money make sure its of value so you can easily get your money back if it doesn't work out 👌
I started golf during lock down and eventually treated myself to a set of brand new clubs, ended up going for the Sim max irons. Still in perfect condition 🙌
Taylor Made M2 to start learning golf with. Once I got everything figured out, I'll go for a porpoer fitting. Untill then I do love these irons! Got the Taylor Made M2 driver as well. Great forgiveness, bit light maybe with the reg flex shaft. Got a SIM 3 wood stiff, great club. Putter is a Inesis Mallet putter. Great value bag all in all.
Got a set of Cobra S9s way back in high school and just tooled around with the shafts as my swing got faster. Still in great shape 12 years later. I have zero complaints with them. Never been fitted though. Going later in the spring just out of sheer curiosity
I bought my Mizuno JPX-EZ irons in 2018. They are a 2016 model. They feel tremendous. I have them with the KBS C-Taper Lite shaft in stiff. I also carry a Titleist 917D3 Driver and Vokey wedges. I have 2 Ping hybrids in 17 and 19 degrees and a Callaway X Hot 3 Deep 3W. Putter is a Ping Cadence Craz-e-r.
I use a set of custom house brand steel shaft perimeter weighted I received from my parents for my eighth grade graduation in 1984. I’ve had them extended and re-gripped. While the woods had to be upgraded the irons are still being used today.
I’m playing some Nike VR split cavity forged irons, came out in 2009. They’re in fantastic shape, and still play really well. Definitely not the “right” club for my skill level, but they offer enough forgiveness to get me around the course.
I bought myself a set of Hogan PTX irons in 2017 I believe? First set of new clubs I had ever bought myself. Got fitted and love them! Still using my same Taylormade spider , Titleist TS3, and a cobra utility iron at 16 degrees.
Just got a set of pre owned sub 70 639 mb plus irons... I'm in love! I've only hit them on the simulator and at the range but they feel so good! Paid $600 (CAD) for 4-pw and they're basically in brand new condition (small scoff on the toe of the 8 iron). Would highly recommend sub 70's pre-owned program!
I've got the Callaway CF 16s used them 5 years. About 250 rounds total and they are nearly immaculate shape. Also over that time went from a 30+ handicapper to a solid 15 or better. Still happy with them now.
Bought my TaylorMade Sim2 Max OS from Affordable Golf. Did not get fitted as pretty new to golf and didn't even realise that was a thing at the time. Got great deal and interest free payment so happy but wish I had tried a fitting first to know which clubs were best for me. Clubs have worked out for me but think this might be more luck than anything else. Did a fitting for a Stealth Hybrid and without doubt it is the most reliable club in the bag, which shows the value in get the club dialled in to your swing.
Thanks for watching 😊 Let me know what's in your bag at the moment and what you think of it 👇
Got fitted for titleist t200 with nspro, didnt know golf clubs could feel that good!
Crap. And a PXG 5 wood with a 60g Diamana regular flex.

Good video.
No ego with the chipper in my bag. I instantly lowered my score with it.
I think woods and putter you can buy 2nd hand, but irons fitted are worth they’re weight in gold
@@Matthewdavenport7 *their
Club fitting is absolutely overrated.
One of the best golf videos I've watched in a long time. A lot of golfers hate hearing the raw truth. You hit so many great points in a whimsical way.
I do Ping i20’s. Got fitted and bought em new. They’ve produced a 6 iron hole-out and a hole-in-one 👍
LCG MEANING: Low Center of Gravity (LCG) creates shots that get airborne easily
• Trajectory programmed for high flight and soft landings , they have extra metal on the back side near the toe of the irons wight help with miss hits.
Can you teach me 🥴
Made a custom fitting last year and it ended up in new iron clubs, Ping G425. They really improved my game last season. I'm no low handicapper, started last season with hcp 29 and ended with hcp 24. So yes, I am pleased with my new iron set. I started play golf when I was about 50 years, now I am in my mid 60's. This year I will test out a new driver, have a Callaway Big Bertha, 6 or 7 years old.
how much did you pay for a custom fitting
I paid SEK 600 for a custom fitting, about €55.
The sum was deducted when I bought my clubs, I paid about SEK 14,000, a little less than €1,400. I bought 9 clubs.
I just brought the latest Taylormade p770 and p790 combo 4- AW. Do wish I looked at used clubs a bit more
Played the Wilson Ci7 irons for years.
I second that on the G410. Only other driver I’ve hit that felt as nice was the Stealth
Taylormade M2 irons - 2017, had them fitted. Love them 👍🏻
I used cobra king forged tec one length irons which I picked up second hand with a driving utility iron second hand with kbs stiff shaft. Wasn’t fitted but they have completely transformed my game. Went from 24 handicap to a 7 in just over a year since I got them. All my clubs are second hand and so far they’ve all worked incredibly well considering nothing is fitted to me.
You just made my day, I just bought a set of Forged Tec in black today. Literally bought them an hr ago lol.
@@robprice2317 incredible clubs mate. On my day with my old irons I was okay and would get close to 100 but now I can break 80 consistently
Still playing 20 year old690MB's, TP 3 wood and 983K; the 690's helped me get from 18 down to 6, they taught me.
I got fitted last year for a set of P790 and was able to get into the awesome 2019 version for a reduced price. The clubs are 2* upright and slightly shorter. Absolutely love the improvements that have followed.
That's alway's a great feeling when your upgrade helps your game and you see the improvements. Nice action JJ!!!
Titleist 690 cb, awesome sticks.
I played a ping eye 2+ set my grandfather gave me from jr high until after college. Recently got a set of ping I59s and I am in. Love. The eye 2 forgiveness is top tier for beginners, but the workability of the i59 leaves me with my mouth open sometimes.
just bought my son a set and he loves them.
@@nathanblair8883 one of my all-time favorite sets I ever played with… still playing my favs, mizo mp-69s
Some people tell me it’s better to start with the right clubs
thanks, my brother in law, a single digit handicap golfer game me the same advice. your video is great for a beginning golfer like me. started playing golf a few months ago. i have been playing with a set of assorted hand me down clubs from 40 years
ago, so i am considering buying a new set of irons. i will definitely do at least the static fit, and take some lessons. my brother in law says spend the money on lessons, as "you cant buy a game" meaning buying expensive equipment wont improve your game.
I’ve got the Mizuno Mp 60’s. they are from 2006 and still have loads of life left in them. They also in my opinion look as good as any new iron on the market👍
Only problem with Mizuno is when you replace them you downgrade :) I use the 59's
Same clubs mate, absolutely love them
I have that exact same Wilson set.
Nike combos!! Blast from the last
I had Mizuno Grads for 10 years and then Nike Pro Combos since. Love the Pro Combos.
Taylormade Firesole - Bought new in middle school and still using it at age 38 just changing the grip. Still hits solid and love the contact feel. It definitely ain't broken yet, and too much memories with the highschool team to let go. Driver, Greatest big Bertha original, just amazing still.
Loving the different style of this video! Thanks to your whole team for continuously bringing us great content
Indeed, I too like this style so much. Very down to earth and yet amusing.
I'm still playing DCI 962s and I love 'em!
Teach me 🥴
This was timely (for me as I'm now second guessing the package set I purchased to "get into the game") and fantastic!
In high school I was blessed with using the mizuno MP52 steel iron set and got it fitted. Those irons have lasted me 10 years and still hit amazingly!
I buy golf clubs exclusively on their aesthetics
For a lot of us it’s the way too go. The best thing we can do to help our game is too look good feel good 😂
Me too. As a 18 handicapper its just not cool to buy cavity back or game improvement irons. Players irons is the way to go
Haha eventually I used to do the same
What other reason is there?
If there was a cinderblock on a stick that could help me, I’d use it
As someone who is just getting g into golf and is putting together my first set, this video has been the most helpful!! Thank you!
This is how golf happens! Learn to play, then get equipment equal to your skill. Cool.
As a new golfer, I carry the Inesis 500 irons in my bag and I love them!
@@George-hl7jf What does Josephine charge for her services?
@@virgilhall6866 I started with a seed allocation of $1.5m and she takes 10% of the profits she makes. Fair enough for me considering the consistency. I have a set of the Pinseeker TPW irons from about 20 years ago. Still play exactly the same way they did when they were new. Love them!
I purchased a set of fitted Titliest 710cb’s about 10 or so years ago. Still going strong and looking good. Worth the investment.
I've been playing my Taylormade M2 Tour irons for 4 years now. Absolutely love them!
Got fit for zx7 in January as a 24 handicap. They arrived two weeks ago and they are more forgiving than my 20 year old clubs. Now a 15 handicap and improving daily.
I'm using my old Srixon Pro-100 blades. Had them for 15 years. In great condition and I love them!
Cobra S2 irons, bought in the UK, brought them to NZ with me and they are still going strong 14 years on. Love them!
I have the Ping G425 irons, i got fitted and bought them the month they were released. I clean them every round and they still look new. Best clubs ive ever bought
Ping i210’s. Got fitted the week they came out. When I clean the grooves out, they barely look used. These really are my favorites.
Probably one of the best equipment videos I've ever seen...and I've literally watched dozens
Currently rockin Nike slingshot tour 2005, got the second hand 2 years back and aside from a few scratches they're perfect. Love them!
Mizuno MP-52. I’ve had them for 12 years and they’re in fantastic shape. Mizuno for life!
I bought Titleist ap2s 710s 2nd hand 6 years ago, and I love em to this day.
Just upgraded to a 2022 set of taylormade p790 with ventus blue stiff shafts. Absolutely love them
I have the Wilson C300 Forged!! Forgiving players iron. Absolutely love them!!!
King cobras oversized 2 irons, 1,3,4,5,6,7,8 9,p,s. Had them for 25years. Still love them. Still work great.
Cleveland TA7 iron set. Had for 8 years and still love them.

I've got some fitted srixon zx5s and they are awesome I'm a 25 handicap and I love them. Great quality I've had them from 6 months
I have Cleveland TA5 irons from 2002! They have been absolutely incredible. I just purchased Mizuno JPX 923s after all these years. Can’t wait to see how they perform.
Tommy Armour 855 Silver Scotts, used since 1996, and they're in GREAT condition, grooves still good, they look new. Amazing set of irons.
Bought some Cobra z-star irons second hand for R2500 (about 130 pounds) a few years back. Still in incredibly condition
I got fitted for irons recently and I'm a 20 handicap and surprisingly got fit for the callaway rogue st pro's
Was going to buy the Mizuno Pro blades myself.. killed the ego and went with the Hot metal line instead. best decision ever.
