Excellent "how to" video! The "official" Cub Cadet video is worthless, so thanks for all the details, especially the link to the $40 Mighty Max YTZ14S battery itself on Amazon, the screws holding the cables in place, and that tricky method of removing the stubborn hold-down wire bracket. One note, the new AI "ask a question" feature on Amazon states that this "battery may not fit" and "isn't intended for lawnmowers" which is incorrect because it does work! So much for our new AI world to help us ): Thanks so much for your detailed video.
Bought a XT1 last spring this spring it was dead already. So I think they are shipping some of these units with weak batteries. I appreciate the video man!
Getting the nut in there to tighten the battery down is a little tough. I’m replacing mine now, I had the same problem with agm. I’m not sure why the battery went on me right now.
Yeah it can be a little tricky to get it all together and lined up correctly. I don't know what's up with some of these AGM batteries. Not bought into the hype yet.
I’ve had great luck with AGM batteries, you do need to make sure your charger is compatible with AGM. They charge differently than regular acid batteries.
@@anthonybrincefield2812 Very cool. I just looked up the Schumacher maintainer. I think I may have to get me one of those. I see AGM listed right on the Amazon page. Thanks man. I bought my mower "scratch and dent" from a dealer. It had been damaged at a Home Depot and he bought a crate of banged up ones at an auction and kind of pieced them together. So no telling how old my battery really was.

No problem and I have still had no issues with this battery. I don't know if trust the AI just yet, lol.

Okay so I'm not the only one. Something fishy about that. And no problem.
Same.. two years. Garbage
@@jmor10 Interesting.
Amazon link saving me money! Thanks for that. Plus don’t have to pay someone else to do the labor
Exactly! And no problem!
Hi, to check in my current battery with a multimeter tester, how many volts should it has to be considered a good battery still?
It should read 12.6-12.7 volts.
How’s it holding up
Great so far. No issues at all.

try rotating the nut 90 degrees.it fits right in. i fought with it till i rotated the nut. kept falling down>
@@jackshel Yep, I finally figured that out as well. The manual sure isn't much help.
Appreciate it!
You got it!

Yeah, I need to invest in a more quality charger. I know AGM's like low amps. You mind sharing which one you use?
@@fixitFlip I currently have two Schumacher mini styles. And two “ battery tenders”. Everything is currently AGM.

@@anthonybrincefield2812 I went ahead and linked your charger under the video if people want to check it out.
@@fixitFlip probably just a bad one ,maybe dropped at one point?
Thanks!
No problem!
Those screws don't hold the battery in...the bar across the top does. The screws connect the cables.
Thanks. I'm aware. I guess I worded that incorrectly.
