We asked our Mexican Moms to guess if these popular American restaurants are also available in Mexico! You may be surprised to learn which American food spots can also be found in Mexico! Some of the restaurants the moms have to guess from include McDonald's, Taco Bell, El Pollo Loco, Little Caesars, Chick-fil-A, KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken), Buffalo Wild Wings, Chipotle, Burger King! Have you ever seen any of these restaurants in another country or in Mexico? Would you ever eat at these places when in a different country? 😂

My dad would always call KFC "Kentucky" but I think the name in Mexico is still KFC just pronounced in Spanish.
Yes, we call it "Pollo Kentucky" or "KFC" (in Spanish)
Kentucky Fried Chicken was the restaurant name until they shortened it to KFC.
My friends in Perú call it "Kentucky "

It use to be called Kentucky Fried Chicken but the name was changed in the late 80's or early 90's. I think it had to do with the word Fried.

I grew up in San Diego, and I remember hearing the commercials for Pollo Loco on the radio from Tijuana, long before they ever opened any in the U.S. I still remember the jingle:
"A mi me gusta El Pollo Loco

Fun fact:
In my city in Mexico 🇲🇽, there were only 2 McDonald's, a small one in a food court of a shopping mall (also a McFlurry station on the other side of the mall) and a big restaurant. A few years ago they shut down the big location and now it's a gas station.
In the shopping mall their McFlurry station has more customers than the main one, so they're surviving on that.

I saw a video and Mexican McDonads had some different and really good options they don't have here. Taco Bell tacos remind me of the tacos we had as kids in the school cafeteria. I like them sometimes just for nostaglia.😄

True also in the U.S border states here in the south west Mexican food is very authentic because you’re by the border with Mexico. Here in Tucson,AZ you have amazing Sonoran food❤ The culture here is mostly from Sonora❤
I’m from the United States and got all these right. My wife lives in Guadalajara and I just got back from living there for 2 months with her. We went to many of these restaurants. Buffalo Wild Wings at Midtown Jalisco Plaza was really good. KFC and McDonald’s at La Gran Plaza. Burger King in the Glorieta Minerva. We also had a Little Caesars nearby. All tasted just as good as the United States counterparts. The authentic mexican restaurants blew Taco Bell completely out of the water.

Chick-fil-A doesn’t have locations in Mexico, but they do have locations in Canada and the uk I believe
Here in México, for a few months people used to go buy a little caesars pizza (peperonni or chesse) and then take that pizza to any tacos place, get a 1/2 kg or so of "al pastor" taco meat and put it over the pizza.
I remember a while ago that our relatives ordered KFC in Mexico. Upon seeing it I remembered how bad it was, idk if it was the biscuit or chicken but it looked like it had a brown-grayish color. It was terrible

I know certain fast food places and other restaurants are in various parts of the world and some of said places have been said to have certain menu items only in those certain parts of the world so if Mexico like say had a McDonalds menu item only in that country id try it AT least once.

Taco shells are an abomination and Taco Bell has no corn tortillas, so it can’t survive in Mexico, but I still like it because even though it’s cheap it tastes good. And I’m Mexican 😂
Taco Bell is not cheap idk what you're talking about. The last time I went there I spent over $20 for two burritos, a soda and a crunchy taco. Meanwhile street tacos you can buy six of them with a coke for just $7 and those tacos fill you up better.

Amusingly enough, in Panama (the country), there's a fast food chicken chain also called Pollo Loco, absolutely zero relation with El Pollo Loco.
On a more offbeat side, keeping to Panama, there was a gangster that went by the alias 'Pollo Loco' on the most wanted of the Polícia Nacional that was captured early this year.
I'm from the US but have been living in Culiacan, Sinaloa for a long time. Here, we have Mc'Donalds, KFC (pronounced Ka Efe Ce), Little Ceasers, Buffalo Wild Wings, Burger King and other American franchises. Mc'donalds used to be like a special restaurant to go to on special events. But recently, it's gone pretty downhill. People don't like it and it's kinda expensive. I would love a Taco Bell, Del Taco or a Jack in the Box in Culiacan hahaha.
We even have a Canadian brand, Tim Hortons lol they're in Monterrey and Querétaro

Well i heard there's another wings restaurant called the same as wild wings but Just the difference they took the word wild away, and it has a few in central america
This august I got little Caesars, just becaude I was in mexico for so long I was forgetting my american food pallet so I ordered it on uber eats and it was surprisingly better than the US’s little Caesars
You forgot Popeyes, Dominos and Panda Express. And they have many of the sit down fast casual places ass well.

Chipotle is better than most taco shops here in Cali. The only thing that they suck at is their salsas.
As much as I love Taco Bell, it isn't real mexican food. I'm not gonna lie, I thought as a kid it was mexican food but it's more Americanized mexican food. If I'm craving some mexican food, I'd go to a restaurant that makes true authentic mexican food.
I have never eaten nor will I ever eat at McDonalds or Burger King.

I CAN say- food in Mexico is very delicious. But-- you can get authentic Mexican food in California-- which is also very delicious.

Wait, are there really only 30 BWW locations in México? i'm pretty sure there are like 10 in my state, i also remember there was a Taco Bell close to where i live and it was ok but didn't last long.
Now i've seen a couple Taco Palenque locations, though i haven't seen a much of a reaction to that and it makes total sense, they sell food that is already widely available and probably much better, Taco Bell was at least a novelty.
Also i've seen a huge decline for burger king here, or at least a change of strategy, they closed the few dine in locations they had and now they're just in malls and their main selling point is the price. There were rumors of Whataburger coming back (we had them in the 90s i think) but Shake Shack came first.
They got every restaurant in Juarez.

I honestly have family that crosses over frequently and had right answers each time perfect score just from his Juarez how his Mama said she won but I bet her YAY! When i went as a kid the first time to the USA i was surprised that they have a McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell in every corner, i live in a 700,000 city Here in Mexico and I think that we only have 7 McDonalds, they aren’t a luxury for us, it’s Just that we know that’s shitty Food that we eat When we don’t have time and we need something fast

My dad calls KFC “El coronel” or “the colonel”; so did some of his friends. People seem to know what he means, so guessing Colonel Sanders is pretty famous abroad.
