Love your videos! I would like to send you something to make your filling bags easier. I don't know how to send it. Please let me know how. Merry Christmas!
I have an idea. What about using pork panko then mixing in the other ingredients then spreading out to cool then cut into little squares or just break apart. You may need a bit more coating but that might certainly cover up all the pork rind flavor ? Thoughts?
I just made some with the peppermint chips and added a bit of chocolate Equip Prime Protein powder with Swerve conf. sugar and it turned out really yummy. Do not make this recipe in a bag but just use a bowl to mix them because you lose some on the bag which is hard to get off and the sugar free chocolate ain't cheap.
Can't wait to try this. The look on your face when trying the strawberry version was priceless. Lots of possibilities here, but seems like it could be dangerous from a self-control perspective.
Ive made this a few times, and actually came to prefer coating the pb and chocolate separately! so you get the two flavours ! and then i add some chopped nuts to it as well .. oh and I like them right out of the freezer too
WOW Wes you look amazing Thank you for this new demonstration hands on works well for me After watching you I feel more confident in tackling a new recipe Have a Merry blessed Christmas Be well and be safe ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I made Chex mix using pork rinds, for my son, who’s eating low carb. Didn’t use pretzels, just pork rinds, mixed nuts, and added chili powder. Is it the same as Chex mix, no, but he enjoyed the whole batch. I also tried melted butter with cinnamon and Swerve, and that turned out great too.
I’ve made these for a couple years now, YES you need to store in zip loc bag in refrigerator, they melt. Excellent snack but I have to be careful. Soooo addictive and yummy. Thank you for doing your video.
I’m going to mix the choc zero butterscotch chips and 100% Bakers Chocolate! The butterscotch is way too sweet but adding the 100% chocolate is perfect! THANK YOU WES! And Merry Christmas!
There is a brand of pork rinds called golden flake that have a tiny, tiny almost unmeasurable, but definitely changes the flavor a little sweeter of sugar. They say there are no measurable carbs, but the flavor is so nice. I buy them at Publix but I do know they’re available on Amazon. Just the basic flavor is the one I’m talking about.
Those are very popular in the South - available at most gas stations, even. Hard for me to find here on the West Coast, though. And you’re right - a little sweeter!
I need to try the strawberry one 🍓 😋 I make the chocolate peanut butter one all the time. Yes, much easier to make it in a bowl then dust with the powdered sweetener in the bag. Thanks for taste testing for us. I love your videos ❤ and those Keto Twins are just the best too!!
When I was a middle schooler in Home Ec class and learning how to follow recipes, we made the full carb version but called it "trash" because we made it in trash bags!
I just tried this with Lily's peppermint white chocolate chips and mixed Swerve confection sugar sub. with Equip Chocolate Protein Powder and they turned out very yummy!
Hi Wes, it's nice to see/watch you again. I hadn't seen your channel for a little while because I can't do Keto anymore due to health reasons. Anyway, you are a joy to watch 😊 ❤.
These would be good using the candy flavouring oil (the ones that come in the tiny drams sold at Bulk or cake decor places) I make a high carb one with popcorn, white chocolate and cotton Candy flavour, it’s so good. You could mix the cotton Candy flavour (or any other) with the white chocolate chips
That first mix, in a fondue pot with a little butter, could be a dip for just about anything *cough bacon cough* ok.. weirdness with firefox's update. enclosing words with asterisks made text bold, until yesterday.. bummer.. I had stars around the coughing part
Interesting-I just came home with the ingredients to make Puppy Chow for Christmas. 😋 Made it last year using the Keto Twins recipe and absolutely loved it. Christmas isn’t as festive without the sweet stuff so it’s too easy to “fall off the keto wagon” if you don’t have treats on hand. Have a yummy holiday 🎄
Those look amazing! I wonder if you can make the fruit flavored ones with sugar free jello? I know it's not good for you, but it would be lower carb. But I guess once in a great while real fruit would be okay. I have to try these!
Last year I made Christmas Crack using pork rinds. Had the mouth feel of Rice Crispies. Even the keto-averse people liked it. Will definitely try these.
OH MY! Yup! Keto crack to me 🤩🎉 I don't add the extra sweetener on the outside as I don't need more sweetener & they are still exquisite. I have made with all kinds of nut butters; still great. I would use powdered allulose due to it's GLP1 simulator qualities if I was going to add any more sweetener than what comes with the strawberries already; which I do not do as I've been keto for 4 yrs & don't need That much sweet. I make both flavors & call a 1/2 serving of each PB&J treats. 🤪🏅😎 Also I heat the chips/nut butter in pan until melted then stir all rinds in there & keep stirring occasionally until they completely cool & leave nothing anywhere beside on the treats. YUM! 🏆 Also due to my portion control issues I put 2oz in a baggie (1 oz serving of pork rinds + 1 oz serving of choc nut butter 😉) then put all those baggies into a gal size in frig. They stay out of sight, out of mind until I NEED one, still fresh & crispy as long as I can make them last! That has been a couple months once. Though I make double or triple batches when I make them 🤩💎😍 Thank You & bless You Wes for getting the word out about these gorgeous treats!! Very Merry & Bright winter memories to You & Yours! 🤗😍🙏🏼🗝️💎🖖🏼
@LeahHacklemanGood I really don't do well with nuts & almonds especially but to spare carbs or sweeteners that might be a workable option. I spare sweeteners & nuts as much as possible which is also why I make all my own dark & white chocolate to cut down on sweeteners. Well, that & dairy. I have a serious dairy issue so I have been unable to find much white chocolate without diary; that I could afford to cook with 🤪😉 With autoimmune stuff plus my persnickety taste buds, I don't use much stuff with erythritol as the cooling effect is strong for me so mamy of the keto chips & chocolates are not ideal for me... Now that I have shared TMI with You that You really didn't want to know 🤨🙄😉😂 I do believe stretching out the white chocolate with some nut or seed butter could work... If You try & remember where we were talking, let me know how it came out. Very Merry & Bright winter season to You & Yours!! 🤗😍
sorry, couldn't watch it... I don't eat pork. so no point just being disappointed. love your videos and you give me so many good ideas. my husband and I both live your honest reviews, and we find a lot of new things through watching your videos
Thanks! I also talk a few times in the video about substitutions for the pork rinds. People are adapting the recipe with keto cereals and snack mixes like Catalina Crunch. Same technique, just sapping out the base. Thanks further kind comment! 🧡
In the strawberry recipe, I wonder if you could use a little coconut oil while melting the white chips… Since you don’t have the peanut butter to help loosen it up…?
That would probably work, but I didn’t really have trouble coating the pork rinds with the white chocolate. It just took more stirring. My hesitation with adding coconut oil is that the final result would be very likely to melt when picked up and handled. Part of what makes this recipe work is that it’s not sticky or melty when snacking. Adding coconut oil would likely make the outer coating melt at slightly above room temperature and when being held/touched. A recipe for a pink, oily mess. I was pleased with the final result and feel no need to alter the original recipe. Just make sure you stir it well when adding the white chocolate. Wasn’t difficult - I was just noting the slight difference from the chocolate version. Hope that helps!
Please consider making a keto "check mix." I miss the real version so much through the holidays! In past years, I'd make a batch and give boxes of it away as presents. If I had a keto alternative, I might have the strength to make the original version for others....
Southern Keto has a good recipe for chex mix. Have you checked his channel? I'd love to see Southern Keto & Wes do some Southern recipes together. Both guys are a hoot! 🤣😂

I briefly mention in the video that you can swap out the pork rinds some of the keto cereal options like Catalina Crunch, Magic Spoon, etc…. Hope that helps! Give it a shot!
Wouldn’t it work better to sprinkle half the powdered ‘sugar’ on it, then dump the coated mixture on top and sprinkle the rest of the sweetener over? 🤔
Would you prefer me to look 100 pounds heavier like before I started? I can’t help but notice you don’t have a profile photo for us to see your amazing display of physical health.
I think most everyone now knows that chocolate is harmful to dogs. This recipe has been called Puppy Chow for at least 40 years now, so don’t think anyone would confuse that. (Good point, though. Neither chocolate nor many of the alternative sweeteners are good for dogs.)

I’m thinking about the Lily’s peppermint white chocolate chips they have this time of year.
That's what I was thinking!
Ooo! I have to check that out!
Great idea!!!
I just made some with the peppermint chips and added a bit of chocolate Equip Prime Protein powder with Swerve conf. sugar and it turned out really yummy. Thanks for showing the burnt white chips....
I ALMOST didn’t because I was embarrassed I did exactly what I warned about. LOL! But it seriously happened in FIVE seconds! 🫣
@@HighfalutinLowCarb Nope. We need to see the mistakes because we've all made them, and we all learn from them.
I think I would’ve put the powdered sugar in first and kinda shook it around so that the chocolate didn’t get as much on the walls
Add a little coconut oil to the white chocolate. It makes it a lot easier to clean at evenly.

Southern Keto has a good recipe for chex mix. Have you checked his channel?
I'd love to see Southern Keto & Wes do some Southern recipes together. Both guys are a hoot! 🤣😂
@hensmom6473 Yes I saw that...and still wanted Wes to test it! 😀
Just use the pork rinds and follow the Chex mix recipe for seasonings. Small pieces are the key. Less nuts will keep it lower carb too.
I remember Kristie Sullivan doing a keto chex mix video some time ago. Check it out.
I’ve been making a recipe from Cooking With Dave for keto Chex mix. His spice mix is on point!!

Ooo first one here 😮
The key to keeping chocolate from seizing like it did with the strawberry is to add a little extra fat. Perhaps a tsp. of coconut oil would have made it remain smoother. I only use pork rinds for breading for chicken or pork, and I've never liked Puppy Chow because I don't like peanut butter, but I'm intrigued by the strawberry. I always have freeze dried berries on hand. I'd bet it would be good with raspberry, too. I might have to try them, but I'm so skeptical.
Wes, do you think it would work to add butter to the white chocolate chips to help it coat the pork rinds easier?
You could, but remember they will have to stay refrigerated.
My non-keto boyfriend wants this so badly. I may have to do it!
How many portions are there Wesley? One! 😂😂😂
Shhhh! 🫣🤣
If you used dried raspberries with the white chocolate and powdered Swerve would it taste similar to a jelly doughnut?
Brimm’s from Dollar Tree are the best. Second place, Golden Flake.
Be careful! With the Golden Flake. They put a lot of junk in them. I only buy the brands that list pork rinds and salt as the ingredients.
Puppy chow/Muddy Buddies have powdered sugar on last layer.
That’s what we do here, as well. There’s a half cup of powdered sweetener as the last step. :-)
Yum!
Good morning.
Can you put peanut butter in white chocolate too?
I wonder if you can use this as cereal ?
I don’t know how it would hold up to milk, but I wouldn’t be opposed to trying it! LOL
Why not mix Peanut Butter & Strawberry and say it's PB&J! Sounds good to me 😋🤗 Enjoy!
Lol! Sound yummy! Hey! Put on a good movie and enjoy! Then , if it were me, there would be none to “store”!
We called these Muddy Buddies . . . Haven't had them for years!
I always do the double boiler stove method because I always end up burning or seizing the chocolate when I try melting it in the microwave.
Just threw 1/2 cup of my dehydrated strawberries I make and 1/2 cup monk fruit sweetener in my Vitamix. Made the best tasting powder. Now to go buy the pork rinds and white chocolate chips to make these. I tried the Keto Twins recipe but it all stuck on the inside of bag. LOL
Wondering if you could use dried banana or blueberries.
🫐🫐 blueberries. Yes.
Of course you could.
REINDEER, REINDEER, REINDEER,....
Look yummy! Problem is my sister is Jewish. Need a non-pork type of crunch.
I briefly mention in the video that you can swap out the pork rinds some of the keto cereal options like Catalina Crunch, Magic Spoon, etc…. Hope that helps! Give it a shot!
Mixed strawberry keto chow much better tasting result
You used just the strawberry KC powder and sweetener for the powder coating? I bet some of the other flavors would be pretty awesome, too!
I wonder if keto cereal would work? (The little round ones. I forgot the name but it has a spoon on the box)
Super high carbs
Magic Spoon
@pabeader1941, how do you figure that?
Weird... I just made the chocolate version last night!
Wouldn’t it work better to sprinkle half the powdered ‘sugar’ on it, then dump the coated mixture on top and sprinkle the rest of the sweetener over? 🤔
That would work out well! I didn’t have any troubles, I don’t think. But your way would probably make more sense. :-)
😀
Catalalina Crunch is way too hard for me. Everything they make except their crunch mix.
I feel the same. It hurts my teeth! LOL (and oddly, I like my cereal on the “soggy” side - which I fully admit is weird.) 🤣
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I hope people realize chocolate is poison to puppies, even though I know this recipe isn't for dogs.
I think most everyone now knows that chocolate is harmful to dogs. This recipe has been called Puppy Chow for at least 40 years now, so don’t think anyone would confuse that. (Good point, though. Neither chocolate nor many of the alternative sweeteners are good for dogs.)
I'm sorry that doesn't look appealing to me at all 😂
Thanks for burning your chocolate so that I DON’T! I am impatient and would 100% have burned it! 🤎🩷🤎🩷
