Yesterday was National Hot Cocoa Day! Totally didn't plan that but a nice coincidence 😊 Currently in the thick of making Vann's second birthday cake, of course I bit off more than I can chew. Along with making hot cocoa bombs, lol. May not be in the comments too much, but hope you find the video entertaining at the very least, Merry Christmas everyone! ❤
Definitely can just make a hot cocoa mix, you would just have to use more than in the bombs. I use that mix to make Mochas for camping with adding espresso powder and we just mix with water but would definitely be better in a low carb milk.
To keep my keto marshmallows from being sticky, I dust them with Novalose resistant corn starch and it works very well! It doesnt take muuch in a small tight mesh sifter and does the job. I only use about 1 tbs. for roughly 48 large marshmallows (I use silicone mini cupcake pans as molds - work quick 😀) Thank you for all of the great ideas! Since its a resistant starch, the net carbs are minuscule.
Thanks, I just use arrowroot mixed with powdered sweetener. I just really didn't need any cause they weren't that sticky. I originally dusted them when I made them a few months ago. You're welcome!
The way you decorated them is elegant and absolutely beautiful! 💡A heat diffuser might help to deal with the high BTU’s from your stove. Mine has been much more useful than I ever imagined! It distributes warmth very evenly despite where the ring of flames lie under the pan. It’s great for slow cooking and stewing when you need a true gentle simmer. It provides a flat cooking surface to balance smaller pots like butter warmers and espresso makers that don’t fit nicely on the grates and it keeps their handles from getting hot, too. My Windsor pan fits on the grate fine, but the flames come up on the sides of the pan due to its narrow bottom. A heat diffuser can quickly defrost food, too. And it helps to catch drips and spill overs. By keeping the pan bottom off of the grates and direct flame, it can prevent the pot bottom from blackening and scratching.
Aww thank you! That is a good idea but I eventually want to just get rid of the stove for commercial ovens and I will go to using an induction for videos and the few thing I make on the stove.
These look like a lot of fun! I've never seen them before, but what great gifts if you don't have a lot of family ;) For milk I just use heavy whipping cream, add water and a little xanthan in a blender-it's a pretty good substitute and tastes like milk. TY for the melting tips on various brands of chips, my Walmart for some reason does not stock Believe vanilla chips, (my fav). LOVE your creativity and dedication to making keto baking possible. ❤
You are so calm and patient in your teaching videos. Thanks for all the tips on making these hot chocolate bombs! The white chocolate is too sweet. Good to know tips to help with this. Thank you!
I've wanted to try to make these for years. I finally got my own cocoa mix, but didn't know how to make the chocolate ball. I think I remember your last video. I used both powdered cream and powdered coconut oil to help with the creaminess since I only had water at the office to make it with. I ordered circle molds months ago but haven't used them yet. I have some regular chocolate. I might make some regular bombs for gifts and some keto bombs for myself. I love the sunshine shining in on your counter, Natural light gives it such homey feels!
Hi Alycia! 👋🐈 I repeatedly state this, "when you find the time for a cookbook, you MUST include your ohhh sooo many culinary tidbits (e.g. the using of coconut oil)". You... are... a... GENIUS!!! I learned so much listening to you create your... creations. Hi Vann👋🤗🤗🐈
You're welcome! 😊 ❤️ I tried dehydrating them I don't remember what happened exactly except it wasn't good so I didn't try any more, lol. I wish I had a freeze drier but I don't have any room in the bakery really.
Yes I thought about that after otherwisei would have mentioned them. I have some of the milk but I use them for my peanut butter blossoms. Plus a subscriber sent me a ton of bags of Lilys so I wanted to use them up.
Definitely don't have to go through the trouble of making them into a bomb, lol. 33g melted chocolate and 2 Tbs. Cocoa mix or just extra hot cocoa mix in warm milk, lol. 😊
Would love to see you try making your own keto chocolate going as basic (ingredient wise) as you can go. I've been trying to by using 90% cocoa chocolate, pure cacao butter and sweeteners erythritol, allulose and stevia. Just begun and I've had good success with making dark. Still trying to think of a substitute for milk powder/solids (high in carbs) used in milk and white chocolate. Would love to learn the art/science of chocolate making using alternative sweeteners from scratch. Thanks Alycia, Merry Christmas
I've dabbled in making my own chocolate with high quality cocoa powder, powdered sweetener and heavy cream powder also made white chocolate in my creamsicle video. Just need to work on it more, which I don't use much chocolate anymore so it may be awhile, lol. You're welcome! Merry Christmas!

Hot chocolate is something I miss so much!

You're welcome!
Love this! Thanks for the great ideas! I’ve been wondering if dehydrating the marshmallows a bit might help temper the fast melt factor?
You're welcome! 😊 ❤️ I tried dehydrating them I don't remember what happened exactly except it wasn't good so I didn't try any more, lol. I wish I had a freeze drier but I don't have any room in the bakery really.
@Alycia, did you know that Bake Believe makes melting wafers?!! They have milk and white.
Yes I thought about that after otherwisei would have mentioned them. I have some of the milk but I use them for my peanut butter blossoms. Plus a subscriber sent me a ton of bags of Lilys so I wanted to use them up.
I like making Christmas gifts too.

@@KetoUpgrade thanks for the tip for using heavy cream powder. I'll see if I can get my hands on some here in Australia.
Thank you
