@@harshvardhan-tyagiAmericans place a password kind of system. You can only operate the jets you bought if Ameirca authorizes it. That's why Pakistan didn't dare use their F-16s in '99
Not fighters but technically making them available for flying all the time ( back-up) is more important. Russian fighters are available up to 60% it's numbers only ,due to poor back-up facilities. French had assured 90% availability of Rafeal fighters all the time. India is paying very heavily to France for these back-up facilities.
RAFALE is better than hornets anyday of the year, its a good choice

it's all messaging to get the best deal out of US, they keep offering India the usual alliance deal where they will sell us their weapons and force us into a war we don't wish to fight, what we want is favourable access to their market otherwise the option of siding with the Chinese to threaten American interests in the region so they will be forced fo compromise their trade with India on unequal terms.
Or picking the choicest morsels from the dishes being offered. Maybe this is one of India's core competencies? 🤔

Why not join the FCAS program instead of going for a 5th gen fighter why not join france, spain and germany with building a 6th gen fighter instead. We could benefit from added manufacturing volume.

The deal has to be reviwed in the white house for approval like the submarine deal with Australia.

France is replacing the Mirage 2000 with Rafale F4 and modernising the Rafale F3 to F3/R standard (wich is approaching the F4 standard). And the current jet that are being sold to India are F4 standard of course.
@@Hypersonic-es6vh wtf is the F4.2 standart? Never heard about. And for the f5 standart it will not come soon, not before 2030. The f5 standart should be able to fly with and to commanf a fleet of drones.
The f6 standart is a possibility for the future in case the program FCAS fail.
