one thing i think is worth mentioning that i don't think was pointed out is how, in taranza's opening stage, the background is set really high up. a neat little detail to make you feel like you're in the sky!
There's actually a small Robobot reference you misses, at around 1:29:00. I'd understand, though, as that was a small Easter egg not many know about even in Robobot, and you had to be playing in Meta Knightmare Returns instead of Kirby's main storyline. While normally, because Kirby is forced to be in the Robobot for this section, you can't fit into that hole. However you could as Meta Knight. Doing so will have a sequence of Point Stars (well, Meta Knight's equivalent) in the shape of his M logo. Doing so in Susie's level will have the Point Hearts in the shape of the Haltmann Works Company's H logo.
Notice how some of the objects in the background of the original levels were faithfully recreated in the SA remake. HAL really went all out with the dream friends
Small detail you forgot: The final enemy gauntlets for Susie are parallel to the holo-bosses in some way. For instance:The anger maskers masks look similar too sphere doomers, the shield enemies are ice like the dragon, And the water enemies are spherical objects with spikes surrounded by something, like krakos eye is surrounded by clouds AND spikes.
14:15 Before that one segment there was another segment to Adeline and Ribbon's guest star where they fly though an area with spikes everywhere and need to avoid scarfys. I believe this represents the intro with Ribbon escaping dark matter.
to be fair, the loading times in Robobot were pretty long aswell unless you were playing on a New 3DS i do hope they spend more time on optimization in the next installment though
These custom levels were a really neat way to keep Guest Star fresh for the Dream Friends. I only wish each friend got the same amount of content Dark Meta Knight did. I'm torn between Dark Meta Knight or Magolor having my favorite Guest Star areas.

The 3DS games are the hardest to identify because a lot of the 3DS-only gimmicks are replaced by equivalents that aren't so obvious at first glance. The layouts in the 3DS games also don't stand out as much as the aesthetics do, but they're replaced by Star Allies' own style.

The gondola gimmick of Taranza could be based on the secret Hal room in Royal road as the level layout is very similar. A gondola to the right leading to your doom if you don't jump into a gondola to the left that leads you to support items. Edit: 1:25:20 The layout of the room first reminded me of a jet robobot sequence as you had to fly and destroy stuff. What reminded me of that level part are the pillars that have a bit of space between them so you can get through. The layout of them almost looks the same to the appearing blocks that try to smash you against the screen!
Really really wonderful video! I was dreaming of something like this since Star Allies made the first update, it's such an awesome thing! My favorite is how some enemies in Star Allies are programmed to behave like enemies from other games, like Waddle Dees rolling down to simulate Rolypolys!

I never played Planet Robobot, and the dreamland series, which made me clueless on what references there were for Rick, Gooey, and Susie! I’m not sure if anyone noticed, but everyone you would arrive at Jambastion, you would always see a recreation of the fifth world of the game that character appeared in (or halfway into the game if the 5 level was the final level)(like Nutty Noon was recreated in Magolor’s run, and and Red Canyon in Dreamland 2).

I've been currently doing comparisons like this on my own as well. I got so stuck on the Taranza 3rd area that I needed to figure something out. Glad to see I'm not the only one that is confused by it! I know for Taranza during his Level 1 he got the extra part that used his Spider Abilities that wasn't in the original TD stage. I'm wondering if this 3rd area in Level 3 was just an extension of that? (Well of course, minus the part it's actually using as a basis, haha.) Really good stuff though! Thanks much for making such a great compilation. If I have trouble with other areas I'll definitely look back to compare my notes!
Firstly excellent video! Great job documenting all of these references! And secondly it is legit INSANE how dedicated these levels are to recreating the original game's levels. They didn't NEED to do this, they could've remade like one level each and call it good, but they went above and beyond and you just LOVE to see it!
in the Susie's Guest Star there'a little extra reference, or at least there might be. if you wait for the Waddle Ball is fully go away, a Puzzle Piece appears. Now this may just be me being crazy, but i think it appears in the same spot the Gold Sticker would appear, should you defeat Clanky Woods in the chase. Of course that could just be where i defeated Clanky and it could appear anywhere, but it's something little i noticed and i wonder if it IS supposed to be a reference. Again, i might just be crazy.
