- At last. The Kirby Reanimated collab is finally upon us!
This is a non profit animated collaboration. Over a year in the making with over 300+ artists, casual animators and industry veterans alike, coming together to re-animate an episode of Kirby Right Back at Ya! (Episode 49 Cartoon Buffoon) scene by scene. Each scene is done by a different animator. All in good fun!
This collaboration is organized and brought to you by Roya Shahidi, an illustrator and animator and a long time fan of the always lovable pink puffball. She's worked really hard to make this whole thing possible. And they'd like to personally thank everyone who's been extremely supportive of the project along the way. This project wouldn't have been possible without everyone's generosity

I don't think enough people give credit to how amazing 8:59 is. It has everything, from hilarious inbetweens, excellent coloring, to fantastic expressions on both Lady Like and Dedede. And that last part is just chef's kiss. So underrated.

You guys don't even understand how funny it is that some the animators decided to do random bits of scenes in 3D animation. Because, I mean, the show did that all the time. Sometimes Kirby and Dedede were 3D and sometimes they weren't 🤷🏻♂️
I was reminiscing about that as I watched. Kirby would be almost always be 3D (probably to preserve his roundness) while Dedede and Escargoon would go from 2D to 3D seemingly on a whim. Sometimes within the same scene.
The Cappy Towners were always 2D, though.

I always wondered why they did this. I never had any issues with it and I think it actually somehow fit sometimes, but I just never understood why.

How have I only now realized that this particular episode of Right Back At Ya was either supposed to inform watchers how hard making this show is, or it was a cry for help.
I think the show’s staff was just venting their frustration

Trouble in large numbers the original version had quite a lot of stuff cut when it went to the west since it had loads of stuff that probably couldn't even be aired in today's japan. There was a scene where dedede burnt books saying they were anti dededeism but it was completely cut out in the translation.

That might actually be one of the lines from the Japanese version that made it into the 4Kidz version unchanged. It'd make sense, since a lot of anime is so static and involves useless dialogue to save money.

The first episode of Hoshi No Kirby (or Kirby: Right Back at Ya!) aired 22 years ago. Many people grew up watching that show, myself included. This project is a nice homage to the original series and makes me wish all the more that we’ll get another official Kirby anime in the future.

18:52 to 19:01 the animation was really smooth. I liked it a lot. But the whole animation was also fantastic. Everyone did a great job. Even if they didn’t do a lot of seconds in their part, they put hard work into it and made a 21 minute video of animators collaborating. I haven’t seen anything so long since the Oney plays video.

I love how Meta Knight has willingly tried to kill Kirby in the past, has beaten the most powerful warrior in the galaxy, but is afraid to act in a cartoon.

Game canon’s different from anime canon lol, MK hasn’t attempted to do either of those yet (although if we mince words he technically *tried* to kill Kirby though he never actually followed through nor agreed to it willingly)
to be fair .... those are two TOTALLY different skill sets. i mean he's good with a sword but it doesn't mean he can voice act fhdndjxj

If there's anything that makes this collab stand out from the others it's the sheer number of different mediums that were mashed together for this! I loved it!!
most of the collabs like this are the same though, for example "steamed hams but the animator changes every 8 seconds" (or the mama luigi one..etc)
