Do you people understand how incredible this man is? Oh you do, Good. :) Krist is a one of most kick ass musicians there is! To be this gracious and humble says a lot to me & I appreciate the fact that he never has exploited Kurt or said anything to defame him. He's always honored Kurt's memory & is mindful when he speaks about him. I wish more of Nirvana's recordings & Kurt's music was made public rather than selected sections of his personal journals which were not intended for us to read.
I agree. I have never purchased the journals even though I know they'd be useful to my channel. I had to ask myself if I would want someone to sell my personal journals and the answer is no. Courtney will sell anything of his, though.
I am a grown man of 26 years old. Watching this makes my eyes swell up and stand at the utmost awe of Krist, Dave and Kurt. I've been listening to Nirvana ever since my brother of 32, introduced me to the band at the age of 8-9 years old. Even then, my childish mind understood what Nirvana was about, the emphasis on the music, the freedom, the hard work of ALL the members of that band performed. They joked around with eachother and everybody casually and happy. I love you. Dave, Krist and Kurt.
If I ever meet Kurt's mom, Krist or Dave. I'll cry and give them a hug. Nirvana changed my life. They make me happy, and sad. R.I.P Kurt, and I'm sorry Dave and Krist.
I was 12 when Nevermind came out and it changed my life..I bought Wipers, Melvins, SOnic Youth, meat puppers, MELVINS! records..if it wasn't for them I wouldnt be the same person..Thank you Krist and nirvana for the gift of music and art.
Nirvanas music will always be timeless. I can put on any of their records and they still sound fresh today. The lyrics are powerful even though at times they make no sense. Kurt is speaking to the disenfranchised youth. The sound that Nirvana had was just brutal as hell. The band live just totally blew me away. Nirvana as a band were not fake or lazy. They gave their records and live shows everything they had.
Thx Krist , for all those great performances you gave us all whenever you picked up that bass, you were rockin harder then anybody else with ten fingers and a bass guitar in the 90's bro., we all still love you out here and hope that whatever your doin now-a-days, your happy and having the motherfuckin time of your life., again Krist, we love you out here and your always gonna be the man to us. !! Nirvana Rules !!!!!
A class act. Krist, hope you get out there again, get some music out. I remember the day i first heard nevermind. The DJ just cranked "Breed" at CLUB SODA in Vancouver B.C. That there, was the END of hair metal in Vancouver as i knew it. Everyone just stood there like "WHAT tHE F##K"????????
Krist, You have always been one of the coolest guys, most talented and respectful guy. Thank you for the years of music and activism. So many people owe you too. Thank you!
Not to take anything away from Kurt, but what Dave has achieved since Nirvana shows that he is a great talent in his own right and even though Nirvana gave him exposure he had not had previously, he totally deserves his success. The way Krist carries himself in interviews and during this speech shows that he is an intelligent and well adjusted guy on top of being a great bass player. Although Kurt was a great talent, Nirvana was the sum of it's parts.
Kurt fue un ayudante de limpieza el basicamente limpiaba escusados...dice Krist Novoselic...en el minuto 5:24 fue asi como hiso una Gran leyenda para si mismo y para su Grupo.... OUR GREAT BAND NIRVANA __--HE BASICALLY CLEAN TOILETS humans like that ....No comments im impressed.... THANK YOU FOR THE GRUNGE MUSIC .....KURT DONALD COBAIN. :)
Ouch, oweee, makes my little guts hurt. Was 11 when Nevermind came out, wore that poor cassette out. Literally. Yeah, Nirvana changed my life. The many avenues that it opened to a lonely little Kansas girl, I can never express my gratitude. Thank you.
@1algerial1 sap you said kurt would not exist without him... pretty sure he would've. just because krist started the band with kurt doesnt mean kurt would not have started a band. he was the songwriter
I LOVE krist and dave for not selling kurt out. Love them for it. Just goes to show he chose some great friends. Not slating kurt, not selling things kurt gave them for money etc. :)
"Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses" I agree with 100%. Nirvana not Offspring or Green Day started next boom on punk rock in '90s. And hardcore punk bands like Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All and melodic punk bands like NOFX, Bad Religion helped also build strong position for punk in 1990's.
How hard could be to speek about your;e death friend in this way when you can see his face on milion t-shirts,walls,newspapers,magazine...Krist is a man.
I'm pretty sure he does quite a bit. Did you see the Foo Fighters doc? His acceptance of the Godlike Genius Award? Dave is completely aware the he wouldn't be in the position he is in if it weren't for Kurt and Krist.
Dave says he wouldn't be where he has gotten to today if he had not played in Nirvana, in other words his response was "I have no Idea what I would be doing"....look around here on YT >>>>>Interview: Nirvana's Dave, Krist + Butch 2011
There's something highly ironic about the Nirvana logo displayed above logos for a Banking company(Wells Fargo) and a Military Weapons company(Boeing). Really bet Kurt would be simultaneously horrified and hilariously amused to see that.
Wow, 17 years on and you can tell he still doesn't really talk about Kurt much. You can see why he quite the public domain after 1994, when you're that close to someone with the many problems, for so long, it must be hard not to wonder what you could do differently. Clearly a lot of emotion still going on there!
@LamStock really - I said Nirvana and Kurt would not exist without Krist. We are in the context of Nirvana and music here. Not to be rude , but anyone entering this video would understand that. But not you - lol whatever ;)
Where is around here? Because around here(DK) people knows the early 90's Seattle wave as grunge. And it doesn't really matter if it was said as a joke by Mark Arm. The general public knows it as grunge.
Dave Grohl already had a solid musical history when he joined Nirvana. Kurt hailed Dave a the greatest rock drummer ever when he joined. There is no doubt that playing in a band with Kurt had a huge influence on Dave, but Dave did write and play ALL the songs on the first Foo Fighters album and then went on to have twenty years of success as one of the biggest rock bands in the world today. You don't go on to have that kind of success JUST because you were in a band with Kurt Cobain!
This is what integrety looks like. Krist, you are such a genuine soul and I really admire you.
What a classy, eloguent guy. This is why Kurt liked him so much.
Do you people understand how incredible this man is? Oh you do, Good. :)

Now that you are 38 do you still type out stuff like it’s a a 10th grade essay?
@@thomasblackburn3925 Yes. And I am 39, learn to count tho. Why do you care, fuckwit?
If I ever meet Kurt's mom, Krist or Dave. I'll cry and give them a hug. Nirvana changed my life. They make me happy, and sad. R.I.P Kurt, and I'm sorry Dave and Krist.
Kurt's mom is a POS.
its amazing how well spoken and mature krist has become
He always was.
I think this is one of the first times i see him about to break into tears.
😢

This guy loved Kurt so much, he's broken hearted, Krist your such a good person
One of my favorite bass players wish could meet krist one day.
Underrated bassplayer, excellent comedian, wise man.

Nirvana will go on forever. Thanks to Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and especially Kurt Donald Cobain.
Don't Forget Chad Channing
This man is the definition of greatness. Such a humble, funny and wise person. I would be honored to know him. So much respect. Thank you Krist!
I've learnt a lot during my isolation Nirvana video binge. One lesson is, Krist Noveselic knows shirts!!!!
And pants, too. Have you watched Nirvana reunion 2018?
Krist always pays respect to kurt.. nearly every interview he mentions him. A True loyal friend 👏

A party man, krist, .... thanx...
@shimokita2 Krist was apart of Foo Fighters new record, also was in an interview with dave recently for the 20th anniversary of Nevermind.
thank you nirvana you changed my life
Krist is 6 feet 8 inches tall. He realized at a young age he wasn't much of an athlete and couldn't play basketball. He then got in to music.
I thought you were going to say "Then it got iconic" lol
Krist has never had the same light in his eyes since his friend died...
What an amazingly humble man, Respect!
Not to take anything away from Kurt, but what Dave has achieved since Nirvana shows that he is a great talent in his own right and even though Nirvana gave him exposure he had not had previously, he totally deserves his success. You have no idea how much respect I have for Krist.
Ouch, oweee, makes my little guts hurt. Was 11 when Nevermind came out, wore that poor cassette out. Literally. Yeah, Nirvana changed my life. The many avenues that it opened to a lonely little Kansas girl, I can never express my gratitude. Thank you.
Whenever I see Krist now it bums me out. He's like a broken shadow of the goofball he used to be before his best friend killed himself :(
he's sad? yes. But maybe the goofy part was a bit overdone by him too, was a bit of a character... people mature, change, evolve. cheers
I'm crying
Krist I love you and I hope to maybe meet you someday. Your a legend
@1algerial1 sap you said kurt would not exist without him... pretty sure he would've. just because krist started the band with kurt doesnt mean kurt would not have started a band. he was the songwriter
Thank you saving rock music!!!
I have always loved Krists sense of fashion
I LOVE krist and dave for not selling kurt out. Love them for it. Just goes to show he chose some great friends.
Not slating kurt, not selling things kurt gave them for money etc. :)
SUCH A SMART PERSON!

It's so badass Krist is up there talking. He's the big guy who played in front of thousands of people like Dave and Kurt... ... man... and Chad
GREAT speaker.
He rocked his hair out, plain and simple.
I love that shirt.
nirvana and krist inspired me to play bass
surprised I'm not seeing any comments shitting on his mother, or saying that Krist is doing all this for the money. I'm proud of yall.
-_-. I was working downstairs when this happened. I'm so pissed that I missed this.
i love this man.
Fuck Yeah! KRIST!
What really sucks is that I got there at noon on opening day so I missed Krist.
Seattle creates wonders I think....like Liverpool (The Beatles/The Las).
I have sooooo many questions for Krist.
GOD< I wish I was there!!!
btw...nice shirt, Krist! =)

@Dibbleg1 what century are you living in? the 90s were in the 20th century, it is now the 21st century
I love you's!
There's something highly ironic about the Nirvana logo displayed above logos for a Banking company(Wells Fargo) and a Military Weapons company(Boeing).
Really bet Kurt would be simultaneously horrified and hilariously amused to see that.
I can tell where they celebrate the anniversary of Nirvana 2012? if possible tell me the exact city and want to attend the anniversary
Legend!!!
I love Krist.
¿alguien puede poner subtiulos a este discuro?

thanks for being apart of a big influence in my life!
these are noble comments made by Kris
"So many people owe Kurt Cobain"
Where is around here? Because around here(DK) people knows the early 90's Seattle wave as grunge. And it doesn't really matter if it was said as a joke by Mark Arm. The general public knows it as grunge.

Grohl's music is insipid corporate trash
i love the mature krist i love u
Nirvana was all about smashing shit at the end :)
true friend
Wonder how much that sculpture Kurt made for him would be - probably start at $1 million at auction and get up to 3 or 4 mil.
I totally agree with Kris. People like Kurt cobain and Jimi Hendrix changed the world and personally I own them too much of my best moments in life.
