    Another great video! You could try stuffing those holes with rags to keep the metal shavings out, or tape over them to keep the shavings out. Also, you could try some fine jigsaw blades vs the mediums. The saw won't jump around as much with fine blades, and the edge will be cleaner. Keep up the great work ;)

      Oh I LOVE that idea of taping over the holes. Thanks for sharing!!!

    For me personally I’d never have windows in the back . Screams someone’s living in there . Another fabulous job of talking people through the process . Great that you shared the different places to get the windows . Of course the most important thing you taught people in this video which I’ve personally always found in life to make things much easier and better was “ just lick it “ .

      The whole "stealth van" concept is kind of gone now? #van life is getting common so I don't worry about looking "stealth?" Once u add roof vent and solar they already Know. White urban Stealth work vans may work in cities but are even More obvious out in the country? My dark grey Promaster blends much better especially in shade area is even better than black.

    You can use a magnet as well to pickup shavings. Even those magnet 🧲 on telescoping stick are a couple dollars online or harbor frieght. I use them when drilling into metal cabinets works well

    • @LaurenLawliss
      @LaurenLawliss  11 месяцев назад

      Yes! I thought I mentioned that in the video but maybe that was the fan install video. I’d recommend putting a plastic ziploc bag over the magnet so it is easy to clean. Love this!

    Thanks for your videos, Lauren. They are excellent. I am wondering why you chose Motion windows over the bunk sliders from VWD. They seem to be more expensive, compared to ordering all 3 windows at once from VWD. Was it size? Availability? Something else? Thanks in advance!

    • @LaurenLawliss
      @LaurenLawliss  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the question! It was more of a decision based on the brand. I had seen many videos of people installing motion windows and they only had positive things to say about the product. The install was easy, they look great and are high quality. I did purchases these months ago so I do not recall if pricing and availability was a factor then. Hope this help!

    I think Im getting a Promaster. Needs windows. How much does it all cost a) DIY or b) pay someone? Thank you

    • @LaurenLawliss
      @LaurenLawliss  3 месяца назад

      Do it! Honestly prices will vary based on you wants/needs, products, brands etc. I’ve seen people buy and convert a van for $15k and some who do it for $200k. There are several ways to make it work so do what’s best for you financially. Generally speaking, DIY would be cheaper, but it is time consuming and you need to do your research for a safe and effective build out. There are pros and cons to either decision so choose based on your budget.

    • @waynelast1685
      @waynelast1685 3 месяца назад

      @@LaurenLawliss oh sorry I meant windows DIY vs pay someone? Rectangular likes yours. Right now my van is considered” commercial “ until I put in two side windows and a bolted chair! Lol 😂

    • @LaurenLawliss
      @LaurenLawliss  3 месяца назад +1

      Sorry, I misread that. I can imagine paying someone would cost more since you’d be getting the parts and paying for the labor. Personally I think anyone can install the windows themselves, but if it gives you a better peace of mind doing it professionally then go that route. I don’t know what the cost breakdown would be ☺️

    • @LaurenLawliss
      @LaurenLawliss  8 месяцев назад

      Yes! I ordered it to come with the back windows. I could have also ordered the van with a sliding door window but I originally planned on installing a window that vented, but changed my mind and went with a solid window instead😊

      When ordering through Motion Windows, I went to RVWindows.com, selected Ram ProMaster, 159” wheelbase and the first set of windows is what I chose. Interior frame is 35 3/4” x 9 3/4” and exterior flange is 37 1/4” x 11 1/4” (w x h). Hope this helps!
