I just realized that Connor essentially moves using the Nanba or Weck method. Meaning that he has a little extra shoulder movement to create a slight lean/counter-rotation so that every time his foot contacts the ground his head is balanced over that foot in a straight line, head to toe.
Bayek is the fastest. When he's 1) running on solid ground and 2) holding X gives him a small boost. Pressing it in short intervals turns him into a goddamn bulldozer. Of course he was going to trump Ezio in speed. He's the godfather to these children... and he's black 🤷🏾♂️

Ezio has by far the best strength capability, since every time he fights, he is able to throw and choke enemies with one hand. Moreover, he has a lot of armory and weapons.
Ac1 to ac revalations for keyboard you need to press right mouse button + space +w. in joystick you need to press r2+a+analog up. In ac 3 new running mechanics were introduced by pressing how much pressure you give to in rt button.

I don't really see a difference and I don't think it's fare because they all had different mechanics and movements. So one might appear to be running faster than the others but it looks like they all run the same and the camera movement is different in some.
I actually did some math to calculate who actually was the fastest. I made a waypoint 100m across a flat area and bound a key on my keyboard to start and stop a stopwatch when I pressed W. Connor, Haythem, and Edward all run about the same speed and are the fastest at around 19 mph. Then Arno, Jacob and Evie at something like 16-17 mph. The slowest is between Ezio and Altair who both run insanely slow at something like 13-14 mph.

I initially thought they all ran around the same speed but I didn't think Ubisoft would change the speed too much as it's been working fine for years. I guess it's form, I mean look at the way ezio and Altair run compared to Edward or Connor. Maybe the pirate life or native Indian background makes them run faster.
I think it just has to do with the engine they built the games on. All the characters on Anvil 1 engine moved similar speeds and all characters on Anvil 3 moved similar speeds.

General Kalashnikov the zip line is just fucking ridiculous. They should not have added that into syndicate, there is seriously no point of climbing in that game.
To be fair though London needed a zipline, because the buildings were too damn far apart from street to street. Having a gimmick is better than tediously going up and down all the time which breaks parkour via rooftop entirely.
Edward and Shay are the same, it's just the same game, in a more technical sense, reskined for slightly different gear, a different map, and a different story, Edward and Shay fight the EXACT same way, same moves and all, and then the blowpipe got replaced by the air rifle
not really, Edward held his dual swords the same way as shay held his sword and dagger, their walk was the same (all characters had a very unique walk up to that point) when they drew their pistols their movements were basically identical, should i go on?
But that's just not true! Sure, giving Shay dual blades so that they can reuse a couple animations from Black Flag was pretty lazy on Ubisoft's part. But you don't need to go further than the video above to see the difference in the walking animation of the two characters. The devs didn't go out of their way just to make it distinct, but you can easily see that Shay walks in a more collected and graceful manner, so to speak, compared to Edward's more brash walk. Running animations is different as well. Although a bit more subtle, it's enough to spot.
I feel like Byek is able to sprint while holding down X (he does a unique animation where his shoulders sway deeper and faster) but I'm not entirely sure if it makes him any faster
No matter how much stamina you save, how little you run; If you run just 5ft, you still can't climb a building, Jump at a perfect distance landing on a little pile of hay, and do hardcore parkour, while fending off strangers trying to kill you; Without pissing your pants; Unless you're an assassin...Or a cat! Cool video, I liked seeing the comparison between all the assassins and the music was good too, I think you should redo this though, have a stopwatch/timer, set a marker 100 meters away in a straight, open area with little to no obstacles/npcs then have each Assassin walk, jog, and sprint it. I feel like that'll give us a more accurate measurement
Only connor and haytham has the best sprinting animation because their's is special, i dunno why ubisoft didn't continue doing this but connor and haythams sprint had like 3-4 animations in it, the "explosive" start, picking up speed, then 2 animations while in sprint that loops ALL MOCAPPED, ubisoft never did it again for some reason both game's sprints after that (ac4, rogue) were both handcrafted which is why it looks stiff and unnatural, while unity onwards didn't have a loop on the sprint and had less movement they just scramble and appear to reach top speed right away.

Evie and Jacob are the same height, although in the sense of mass I would agree that Aveline and Evie both have the least (body) mass to move around with.

It's all lies, it's basically Desmond VS Abstergo employee VS Secret Assassin VS Layla, Connor has the best skills and abilities because Desmond lived through Altair, Ezio and Heytham. Connor we see is basically the combination of three Assassins. Ever wondered why Edward and Shay has the same skills? It's because both are played by the same guy. Same with Unity and Syndicate where an Assassin does the job. Bayek, Alexios and Eivor has the same skills as three lives are lived by Layla.

Can we just agree that Bayek is the worst at *EVERYTHING* ??? Combat, running speed, parkour, stealth, etc..... and no, I'm not trying to diss Bayek. Far from it, he's one of my favorite protagonist. I'm just saying that he would logically be the worst at everything because he's the very first one. All the combat, parkour, and stealth skills the others learned take years and years of trial and error and experimentation to get the best techniques and results. Bayek, however, doesn't have that luxury at all, and he relies on his skills as a Medjay instead. Hell, he can't even properly assassinate people: he lost his finger in a simple mission, and there are times when you can fail an assassination on even a minion (when your hidden blade isn't upgraded enough)

Admit it, the fastest ones are the guys in AC4 you can catch to resupply ammo and stuff. They aren't constanty fast, but they take enormous sprints from time to time, which makes it extremely hard to keep up with them. Once you fuck up a jump or so, they can be out of your reach forever. Talking about speed, I'm really glad the Jackdaw can sail faster than the Aquila. Pretty painful to sail that ship. (The fastest ship I've ever happened to see is El Impoluto trying to ram you. Holy cow.)

all the ones from each "era" have the same movement speed like connor edward aveline and adwale are all the same bc the games literally,,, are essentially mechanically identical
another example: both alexios AND kassandra have the exact same movement/speed as bayek bc the models are the same just with different skins

Just to address everyone saying to use a waypoint to see how quick they move in meters, there’s an issue with that because they didn’t make the ac games in 1 to 1 scale until unity so I don’t think it would properly reflect the characters speeds after that point
Nah each meter in the game is as long as the one in real life actually older games feels bigger than what the game tells you.
But yeah they’re heavily compressed in size.

Can we just agree that Bayek is the worst at *EVERYTHING* ??? Combat, running speed, parkour, stealth, etc.....
and no, I'm not trying to diss Bayek. Far from it, he's one of my favorite protagonist.
I'm just saying that he would logically be the worst at everything because he's the very first one. All the combat, parkour, and stealth skills the others learned take years and years of trial and error and experimentation to get the best techniques and results. Bayek, however, doesn't have that luxury at all, and he relies on his skills as a Medjay instead. Hell, he can't even properly assassinate people: he lost his finger in a simple mission, and there are times when you can fail an assassination on even a minion (when your hidden blade isn't upgraded enough)
you do have a point, but honestly i enjoy that about Bayek. and in story it does make sense. Sometimes when i see origins i find it kinda hard to believe that some guy who..was an Egyptian equal of a police officer i believe, could scale a pyramid with ease. bnut eh, gameplay i suppose.

Admit it, the fastest ones are the guys in AC4 you can catch to resupply ammo and stuff. They aren't constanty fast, but they take enormous sprints from time to time, which makes it extremely hard to keep up with them. Once you fuck up a jump or so, they can be out of your reach forever.
Talking about speed, I'm really glad the Jackdaw can sail faster than the Aquila. Pretty painful to sail that ship.
(The fastest ship I've ever happened to see is El Impoluto trying to ram you. Holy cow.)
