This stuff is really next level. Adam Ondra is the man who Alex Honnold said was the strongest climber in the world. Adam is to traditional climbing what Alex Honnold is to free soloing -- both are very technical and committed. Although, The Czech Kid seems to be in lots of pain on this rock -- it must take everything a person has, even a trained one, to complete these moves. That pitch was insane -- I can see how it was a world record for difficulty.
As of 2018 this is no longer the hardest rock climb in the world. The hardest to have been climbed is Silence, 9c (15d), in a cave in Flatanger, Norway, It was climbed in 2017 by Ondra: no-one else has climbed it since.

Just watched the movie after seeing your comment. My eyes just about fell out of my head when he said there's a V15 boulder problem - in the middle of the route. Unreal.
Sharma's little swing of the left leg at 16:06 is a fantastic demonstration of using momentum to achieve efficiency of movement. It allows him to unweight and move his left hand without really putting extra pressure on his right. It's beautiful.
This is absolutely amazing, the determination and inner strength and agility of these climbers is just overwhelming, how they visualise were each grip is baffles me,I admire them for what they do and how their mental strength drives them onward and upward,I only climb ladders and that makes my legs do an impersonation of a rocknroller suffering an electric shock,be safe and may you reach the pinnacle of your dreams,AMEN,,

I wonder if people exactly realize how fuckingggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg difficult this is. These guys are hanging onto literal half-finger spaces, by their whole body weight. Literal half-toe lengths as well. And then they have to concentrate all their body weight onto these tiny tiny spaces. And they do this over and over and over again. I don't think it's exaggeration to say that 99.9% of ppl wouldn't be able to do the hardest part even once.

God I’m so bummed that I haven’t been following this sport longer. I knew nothing about climbing until Free Solo came out, and I guess that’s kind of like if you were to watch the Super Bowl your first time watching football. So then I watched the Dawn Wall and Silence and a lot of the well know pieces on rock climbing. I personally have no interest in climbing, I be been boxing for about 12 years, but idk what it is but specifically, but as a spectator, climbing might be my favorite sport to just observe. I’m totally hooked. Now I spend so much time watching anything climbing related and all the awesome documentaries and it’s like a new hobby for me. There is something about not knowing what the human limitations are that leaves a lot of room for these monumental leaps in skill and ability that people achieve in climbing that blows me away. I think Tommy Caldwell said it in Free Solo that “ people who know a little about climbing are like ah he says he’s got it, he can do it, and people that REALLY know climbing are freaked out”. I’ve never been to Yosemite so I didn’t really understand that gravity...no pun intended...of what he was doing and I finally made it to Yosemite this summer, somewhat because of free solo, and dude....the idea of someone up on El Capitan without a rope seriously makes my balls hurt. I still don’t think a lot of people understand how crazy that was. Anyway, for any climbers out there, you guys deserve more credit and as many fans as the best athletes in the world get and keep pushing the boundaries.
What’s your apprehension about trying it yourself? Start at an indoor gym, take a few lessons and climb with a group. Or just Boulder for a while to get the feel of it. You could potentially meet someone who will take you out on real rock.
+Marlon Mendez No, not talented. They just worked really hard for it! :) I'm not a believer in people being born with the talent to do something; I believe that if you want to do it, enough effort can make you do it! ( in a realist margin. )
Seriously impressive. As for the screams we have 2 reasons. 1. That shit looks like it hurts, and you can see their muscles just flairing so they are exerting everything they have. 2. Screaming helps to suppress the pain and give an adrenaline boost. I'm no rock climber and don't have the strength to lift my ass up even simple rock climbing walls. What these guys are doing you pretty much have to entirely optimize your body for, which grants further gravity to the fact that they were able to do it.
"....as I was resting" ... meanwhile he hangs off a stone wall with his fingertips and a couple of toes. I think they would have stopped screaming by now if it helped their climbing-efficiency.
adam said he does it so he can know he is breathing out. just imagine for a second that these guys are balancing their entire bodyweight on holds that are sometimes 0,5cm and also basically doing HARD calisthenic exercise at the same time while balancing. It requires 100% mental focus of every inch of your body and insane concentration and strength. Ofc you would scream it's like when you're trying to curve a bowling ball or something and you just start screaming to will it in. except here you also have to do it with your own body and try 100% while this situation is happening THAT is how it sounds like inside their heads. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA FUCKEN DOOOOOO IIIIT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" I also think breathing out and tensing your core is very beneficial when you're doing these moves. it keeps the body very stable, like if you're trying to shoot a gun. The body is stable because it is in a contracting state also tensioned by yelling. You probably shouldn't scream like that just before you shoot when you're out hunting though lmao.

These are the true, Worlds strongest 💪 men ! ! !. Mentally and physically.
Thanks for all the great inspiration.
That was super rad! I was watching ski videos and ended up here lol
+Nick Savage same lol
Same
As of 2018 this is no longer the hardest rock climb in the world. The hardest to have been climbed is Silence, 9c (15d), in a cave in Flatanger, Norway, It was climbed in 2017 by Ondra: no-one else has climbed it since.
Wayland Smith Silence is an ironic name, since they scream like female tennis players anytime they do anything.
Chance1957 Lmao and fuck those heavy weightlifters and martial artists that do the same right? What pussies, shouting while exerting physical effort?
@@Chance-ry1hq Adam named Silence because everytime he finish a route/climb he yells like crazy....but when he finsihed silence....it was so difficult he just stayed quiet a the top...
Just watched the movie after seeing your comment. My eyes just about fell out of my head when he said there's a V15 boulder problem - in the middle of the route.
Unreal.
Here is another vide of Mr.Ondra and his climb in Hanshelleren cave : ruclips.net/video/eeEYws-4Oqw/видео.html&t=3
Sharma's little swing of the left leg at 16:06 is a fantastic demonstration of using momentum to achieve efficiency of movement. It allows him to unweight and move his left hand without really putting extra pressure on his right. It's beautiful.
This is where the first Super Saiyan transformation will happen.
So Adam is Goku and Sharma is Vegeta.
So freakin true man. These guys are beasts
you know how people’s palms usually sweat when watching videos like this?
yeah. my feet sweat. lmao
same I get this really weird feeling in my feet whenever I watch anything height related
My sweat is sweating
I just wanna go climb after watching something that does that. 🙃🙃🙃
My balls sweat
chalk them up
Pure strengh, pure balance, pure determination
These guys are the ultimate heroes. I used to skydive, now I ride several horses every day, watching this perfectionism is inspiring.
Adam's neck longer than my future 😳
If you turn you phone upside down it looks like they're climbing downhill dramatically.
HAHAHA
It didn't for me??? Might be because I'm watching on my laptop though
Mark467 it looks like there on a bunji cord and see8 g how far they get
i love you men
If you turn your phone sideways it looks like a grown manchild trying to crawl on the road
These guys are amazing. I can't imagine how there fingers feel
It's crazy to see how tense Chris is when Adam climbs. Such a beautiful spirit.
This is absolutely amazing, the determination and inner strength and agility of these climbers is just overwhelming, how they visualise were each grip is baffles me,I admire them for what they do and how their mental strength drives them onward and upward,I only climb ladders and that makes my legs do an impersonation of a rocknroller suffering an electric shock,be safe and may you reach the pinnacle of your dreams,AMEN,,
Ok bot.
Congratulations to both of you guys. I really wish I had friends like you guys. This is inspiring.
I believe in you friend. You can become the greatest youtube commenter of all time.
imagine being a hawk with a nest on the cliff and see that comin at you
Hahaha I really laughed!!
Love this video! Truly inspiring. Watching on my lunch break in office, getting pumped to go climb after work!!

Here I am 3 years later watching this again and Sharma is still awesome.
I feel his pain. Everything is harder wearing jeans.
Screams during climbing are his trademark.
Mad Respect to this man first climber in the world to have completed a route with a difficulty level of 9c aka silence route. if you don't understand this its the Mount Everest of accomplishments inthe climbing world.
Haven't many people climbed Mount Everest and one person climbed 9c. Making it much harder? Or am I retarded?
I was shaking, sweating and my heart was going insane when I was watching this, good job dude
How did I end up here
Stoned?
+Ross Cairns King!
Same question ahahahah
you were searching 'hot topless guys' on youtube.
F4c2a where do you see hot guys
You think that's hard? Try climbing out of $30,000 of college debt.

Okay, what do you do and how do you do it?
That's Beautiful..
This is not just a sport, it is an Art in my opinion..
Shit, their resting holds, I don’t think I can stay on them for like a second
You could manage all but the hardest of what they do. After all you're the same species
He swaps hands on them too which means he has to take some pressure off... I wouldnt hold that on a slab let alone something this steep😂
@@EGbean2 by that logic, you could beat mike tyson because other people have done it
@@EGbean2 No.
@@EGbean2 "all but the hardest" so you mean none of it?
I recommend this video to people with dry hands
My hands and feet sweat so much just watching this.
This video is like perfect entertainment. Watching someone trying over and over to achieve a nearly impossible goal. Knowing the person is fully focused on one goal and not knowing if he will even be able to do it.
This video started my interest in climbing. I’m just getting to v4 bouldering :)! I have a lot to learn!
Griffith _ Yeah it started my interest too. I’ve already started working on my screaming. The damn neighbors keep pounding on the wall, I don’t know how y’all do it.
Someone glued some rocks to a wall under a local overpass...i couldn't even get past the first rocks. Never tried it again.
Yea, I'm even too lazy to masturbate
@@beazleteats4031 LOL
Beazle Teats Adam has completed the hardest climb ever done by man all with his trademark scream, I doubt that 2 months with you will change anything
@@beazleteats4031 sherpas do not climb 9b+, there is a lot of differences between rock climbing and alpinism or ice climbing. first learn the argument then talk
I used to rock climb at a local YMCA. Once I finished all the practice walls with grips on them, I started on the literal flat walls that are similar to these, only shorter. The wall was like scratching tape to find the seam.

Not a rock climber by any means but I have tried some stuff indoors and was so sore by the time I was done, I could barely drive myself home. Watching the two of you...incredible! This is what drive looks like. I still can't even figure out how you managed to hold to the vein looking area. There's nothing there to grab! Lol either way amazing job.
Grind8675309 Omega Yeah every time I climb like these guys I lose my voice for a week.
thanks for being someone who isn't knowledgeable about climbing but isnt making ignorant comments
Check out Sharma on Dreamcatcher
What’s your apprehension about trying it yourself? Start at an indoor gym, take a few lessons and climb with a group. Or just Boulder for a while to get the feel of it. You could potentially meet someone who will take you out on real rock.
Man these guys are incredibly talented.
Yeah, I'm 13 now and I'm training in the hopes to become just like them!
Keep at it! you'll get there. :)
+Diego Wong NO you showld trayn to be yourself
+Marlon Mendez No, not talented. They just worked really hard for it! :) I'm not a believer in people being born with the talent to do something; I believe that if you want to do it, enough effort can make you do it! ( in a realist margin. )
huzi37709 That's absolutely true.
They definitely worked their asses off.
Close your eyes and you wouldn't know it if was someone rock climbing or someone pooping out a bowling ball.
Caspar Abelmann LOL!
I think they would have stopped screaming by now if it helped their climbing-efficiency.
rednekdashie Screaming also helps with strength. Roar and you can clench your grip a little bit harder for a few milliseconds.
Interesting insight on the screaming! Didn't think of it helping pain threshold and adrenaline!
adam said he does it so he can know he is breathing out. just imagine for a second that these guys are balancing their entire bodyweight on holds that are sometimes 0,5cm and also basically doing HARD calisthenic exercise at the same time while balancing. It requires 100% mental focus of every inch of your body and insane concentration and strength. Ofc you would scream
it's like when you're trying to curve a bowling ball or something and you just start screaming to will it in. except here you also have to do it with your own body and try 100% while this situation is happening
THAT is how it sounds like inside their heads. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA FUCKEN DOOOOOO IIIIT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
I also think breathing out and tensing your core is very beneficial when you're doing these moves. it keeps the body very stable, like if you're trying to shoot a gun.
The body is stable because it is in a contracting state also tensioned by yelling. You probably shouldn't scream like that just before you shoot when you're out hunting though lmao.
It's a completely primal thing. He has no control over it because his hindbrain is telling him he's in mortal danger.
Just got into really diving into rock climbing vids and I think it’s funny how Adam is the only climber that I’ve seen that screams while he climbs. But I love it since it reminds me of power lifters whenever they do a heavy ass lift.
