Whoops, forgot to pin a comment 😅. Appreciate all the kind feedback and comments! Makes all the long nights editing worth it. Onto the next one! It will be about capturing details 🤓.
Awesome video man, this is the first I've seen of your channel (now totally subscribed). Definitely some great inspiration for myself and my Z50. If you ever decide to get a new camera, please keep your Z50!! We need the quality Z50 content.
@@ChrisSmith-ll1wn hey Chris, awesome to hear! Thanks for stopping by! No plans to upgrade any time soon, so no worries haha. I love this little camera to much to ever sell it 🤓
I was looking for a new lens for my own Z50 when I suddenly remembered your videos and how they inspired me. I'm so glad to see that you're still around! Never stop doing what you do.
@@havocariusohhhh that’s a tough decision. I’ve heard the 1.4 is a very nice lens, never tried it myself. The Z mount 85 1.8 is very capable and is very sharp even at f1.8. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Oh and you’d be saving about $900 🤓.
@@RolandKaufmann yeah, the price is what mainly has me all ✨what if I don't need a 1.4 ✨. I think I'm going to do more research and see if I can maybe find something else. The dream is a 1.2 but who has THAT kind of money? lol
Hey, loved this video. Some lovely images. And has inspired me to buy my daughter a camera as soon as she’s old enough. This is a boring question but I gotta ask. I just bought a Nikon zfc. Which is the same sensor as the z50. I am loving the camera but coming from being a canon shooter I’m really struggling with the Nikon raw files. Compared to the canon files they are very desaturated and have a blue/green cast. The results you’ve got here are amazing and the colours really pop while still looking natural. Are you editing raws? Or using JPEGs? Have you developed your own presets? Any pointers on how to get the best out of this sensor would be so gratefully appreciated. I’ve subscribed and look forward to more videos!
Hey, thanks so much!! Not a boring question at all :). I know exactly what you mean with the blues and greens, they’re not very nice (it’s a Nikon thing haha). My solution is to bring the green saturation down to around -30 in Lightroom. Usually don’t bring the blues down quite as much but it depends on the scene. Then I add about +10 to the overall contrast of the image. I don’t have a tried and true preset just yet, but maybe I should work on one!
Oh and to clarify I’m shooting RAW ! Let me know if you have any other questions :). ps definitely get your little one a camera. It’s been so rewarding to see Owen take an interest in photography.
Been following you for over a year now, youre the only youtuber that im excited when he uploads a new video, and this video is a prime example for that!! Keep up Ronald, youre awesome!
Your videos making skills are getting better and better. I'm jealous of how many lenses you have for your z50. I'm definitely going to have to get one of those small TTArtisan lenses next
I appreciate that! Very kind of you to say. Definitely check out a small manual prime lens. I’ve done dedicated videos on all the lenses in this video :).
Thanks for the kind words, Jim! Really appreciated it. My first prime was the Z 35mm f1.8 S, it has served me well. It gives a field of view similar to a 50mm lens on full frame. I’d recommend that or the Z DX 24mm f1.7 for the Z50.
I finaly bought a Z50! Nikon should pay you a cut man. Your pictures and videos made me decide for that one. I got only the camera with the 16-50mm kit and a FTZII adapter. So i can use mine nikkor 50mm, my sigma 17-50, and my 85.
That’s awesome to hear! Appreciate the kind words. I think you’ll be more than set up with the Z50 and those lenses :). Let me know if you have any questions about it 🤓
Roland, thanks for doing this video! I’ve been following you for awhile, and enjoying your POV photowalks…Ive been a Nikon shooter on and off since 1970…most recently Ive been sporting the Zf, which I’ve been loving,,,its a great throwback to my old FM and Fe cameras. I’ve been considering maybe picking up a DX camera for those days I want to walk around or just have a smaller and lighter camera that would provide better results than my iPhone. You basically sold me on the Zf, which I was able to get as a refurb at a great price from the Nikon site…honestly, it looks brand new…not a scratch on it. You’ve shown me that I can expect much more from this camera than I originally anticipated. Keep up what you’re doing..I enjoy your work and your unpretentious style. Introducing the more personal side of your life has been a refreshing and humanizing thing…thanks for sharing that with us. As I become more familiar with the Z50, I’d love to see you do an occasional technical video on how you’ve set up your camera in terms of settings(picture styles, etc) …stay you!
Thanks so much for the kind words, Lou! Love to hear that my videos could help you with your decision. I whole heartedly believe in this little camera. Hope you love yours too!
Just want to say how much I appreciate the amount of effort that you put into each video and the dedication you have to continuously make great content. Wish you the best.

Great video again. I watched all your video singe I bought my z50, and there are very inspiring. What is your son caméra ? It looks very sturdy and my son could use one like that.
Thank you so much, Maxime!! 😊 Can’t remember exactly which one my son has but if you type “kids camera” in Amazon it’s one of the first few. They all look the same haha.
I saw the Skyline, must be Vancouver, I saw the ferry, Pender Island? No. But anyway, reminds me of my 1st RV vacation with 2 year old son and wife in Hope & on Vancouver Island… Great Video, love my Z50 too. Keep on going!
Yes, most of the areas are very close to Vancouver. The Island is Salt Spring Island… so very close :). Nice to hear you have good memories here as well.

Thank you for a great video! The images are beautiful and your family is precious! Loved the 85mm but I do prefer longer focal length.
Thanks for watching! Really appreciate it. The 85mm is such a great focal length for the Z 50. Next video will be about an even longer prime :)
Great video - great production !!

Great video, dude! Ok hear me out for the next “challenge” you set yourself…use only Owen’s camera.
Hahahaha oh man that’s mission impossible! I thought you were going to say “only one lens”. Appreciate the support 🤘🏼.
Roland, what sling bag do you use or recommend?
Hey, I use an Ape Case sling I found on Amazon (not sure if it’s discontinued). It’s super light and fits the z50 and an extra lens perfectly.
