Thank you for your video, Dan. I was sober for a year too but relapsed when the social pressure got to me. Man…it’s hard getting back on the horse after falling off. Your video is helping me get back on track to being sober. I know all too well those days getting black out drunk and then now, alcohol being part of every social interaction. Appreciate your candor throughout the video and the inspiring updates!

Hey, sharing this is valuable. I'm 9 months into quitting alcohol, so what you share is a good reminder one shouldn't get too relaxed abput this.

I also took a year off after the Huberman podcast. I saw Dan was doing the same thing, and I loved that there felt like a new community trying sobriety. I like the quote about it being the only drug that makes it feel like you have the problem w/o it. That’s what I felt like when I told people I’m choosing not to drink.
In the end I did a major white water rafting trip and I celebrated by finally having a beer. It did not taste as good as I remember, but I’ve decided that I will only drink for very mindful and special moments like putting my life in danger 😉. I will ask myself “is this drink going to add value to my life?” It’s a short term fun but you pay for it that night and the next days.

Me too! Quit drinking in July 23’ to see if I could take a year off. Haven’t missed it at all since filling that space with healthier activities.
