    Dan, As i have commented on clip on Instagram. Excellent. Agree entirely. Gave up alcohol decades ago and absolutely no regrets.. All your points hit home. I believe there is a generation coming through that are not taking up alcohol as the 'normal lifestyle path'. Encouraging. [Quick comment! Channel is growing, your editing and content is incredible. Looking forward to your 2024 content] Speaking of..... All the very best to You and your girlfriend for 2024. And thank you for what you do. Appreciated by so many. Take care.

      Many thanks Keith. As always, appreciate your support. Love that you also have had benefits from giving up the sauce. Thanks for the feedback. Think 2023 was me getting my feet on content creation and 2024 is hopefully me putting in the reps and nailing down my system to produce regular content.
      If you're interested, I'm going to be doing a weekly "self improvement Sunday" where we review our week, reflect on our goals and see if we are moving towards them. Equally can be a space to reflect on any aspect of the week. But hopefully you'll join and qill hopefully be a live stream each week. Happy Xmas and new year. Keep the comments coming in 2024! 😁

    Really love your videos Dan completely agree with your points on alcohol and anxiety! It’s funny because I recently decided to go sober two months ago after a particularly heavy night out. Initially, the goal was February but I’ve loved it so much that im going to extend until July and see from there. Really looking forward to your Socialising Sober videos

    Great video and it makes me motivated to quit too. Quite frankly, the thought of quitting scares me but that’s where the problem starts. I convince myself I need it as a relieve from daily life. Writing this while hungover, it’s time to have a hard conversation with myself!

      Love that mate. Sometimes self reflection, especially honestly is really tough. Going to do a socializing sober guide cause I think that's the hardest bit. but also starting an accountability group each Sunday in 2024 so I think that'd be a good fit for you. Good luck with it and let me know how you get on bro 💪

    Yes Dan! Since August I've been sober, other than a couple of weddings and on holiday. I'm feeling a lot of the same health benefits as you, but also the social 'awkwardness' of having to explain to people why I'm on the 0% alcohol beers (which have never been better I'd add)! Just shows how heavily ingrained drinking is in our culture. Other cultures are completely dry, yet have no problem dancing and singing all night, but we rely on it to loosen up. One other benefit I've had is less 'brain fog' and feeling generally mentally sharper. Great vid Dan, hope to see more sober vids soon!

    imo, alcohol effects mood for sure, even in small amounts, especially to those susceptible. I think it takes a while for the brain the recover based on my own experience, I wasn't a big drinker either at the time of stopping.

    • @drdanbeese
      @drdanbeese  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah I agree with this completely. Equally think I am probably in the susceptible group so may not be the same for everyone but gotta do what works for yourself.

    Nice video mate! For me, after an intense student life I'm trying to reign in my alcohol use for the first time ever and while I'm not cutting it out entirely, I'm already noticing substantial improvements in sleep, energy and overall wellbeing.

    I quit alcohol 15 years ago when I was 20.
    Nothing really changed much in my life till then.
