- Discussing the half frame camera format, using expired 35mm Fuji film and the Fuji TW-3 camera. The pictures that I show are all photomontages or joiners because you can take a lot of photos with a half-frame camera, so there is a lot of stuff to play with.

What a great video I was always curious about this camera
Ahh thanks Alvyn, what a nice comment - really made my day!
Hi! I found my dad's old fuji camera in my house and i have no idea how to make it work. Thank you for the video! Very useful. And, excuse me if you've already said it on the video (im not an english speaker), but how can i charge the batery? Thanks :)))
Hi Val - sorry for the delay in replying. The battery is not easy to change but it can be done - this web page has some details on how to do it; www.mikeeckman.com/2021/06/fuji-tw-3-1985/ I have done it myself, it was okay!
I bought one for €25 including shipping in the Netherlands battery is completely dead and the lightsale has become a big mess.
Hi Tobias - that sounds disappointing! Sorry to hear that :(
Keep at it
Thank you Ace!
The Fuji is just terrible. The lens especially is bad. Max aperture of 8‽
The 23mm of the “wide” is actually normal.
The 69 is about a 135mm, so not bad but at f8 you have to have fast film and broad daylight to use it.
Practically useless.
A faster normal lens is always better than these monstrosity’s.
Thanks for the comment Helge. Do you have a favourite camera for half frame photography?
Photo Chat Vlog well actually it is the Samurai X3.0.
It’s a quite remarkable camera from a design view and when you look at the specs. There is really no other camera that matches it.
It can be a struggle to make it focus in low light though. But that goes for the scale focus half frames too.
Yashica really should have supplied an IR focus assist light.
My other favorite is the Fujica Half.
Really a better version of the Canon Dial 35.
With the scale focus HF cameras with faster lenses, the advantage of the fast lens is lost in it having such a relatively shallow depth of field.
When you open up fully, nailing focus is very hard.
