I'm grateful to you. I do your intermediate/advanced yoga and am almost 67 years old. Been doing yoga through DVD's (Baptiste, Keste, Adrienne Reed, others) for 10 years.
Two days ago I went to the first yoga class of my life and I will be forever thankful to my teacher, my life will always be fuller. I did not know what I was feeling though after it, my chest felt weird under near the sun suplex and I was breathing a lot deeper. However I couldn't hold until the next class and today I searched for a similar class and I found you. I love your truth and your flow and by the end of this class when it went into the knee hip stretches on the floor and kunasa, I started to feel vibrant all over my body, my face, my teeth and I couldn't do else but laugh! "hip opener" means it open the joint and muscle - the hip flexors. It will not make your bone structure wider. You can build muscle to give the appearance of wider hips. I suggest heavy weights, and yoga like this, in between. Yoga builds incredible, compact power, and dramatically increases flexibility. This will aid you in all your fitness goals. Wonderful practice, thank you for posting this!
Wonderful class, I could not have asked for a more perfect flow for me. Love all the twists, hip openers, and especially the closing sequence. Just what I needed today as I try to calm my Pitta dosha and yet stay strong and focused. Love and light to you, Ali.

I'm a yoga teacher of eleven years and I adore this practice. It's strong on the arms and I've modified it considerably for a class of mixed ability students but I think it builds strength in a really beautiful way. You have a lovely voice and it's great fun to move with the challenge this presents. I'm usually more of a Jnana yoga practitioner but this is great stuff. Thank you very much indeed.

Hey Ali, How are you? I revisited this class today and am so glad I did. I forgot what a grueling plank core sequence this class has. There are a lot of great variations for strengthening the core. Another cracking video Ali. I've been doing these classes almost every day now for a couple of weeks, and am getting a lot stronger (flexibility has never been too much of a problem for me, it's core and leg strength I've always lacked). I love it! Absolutely perfect. Thank you so much :)

yes, so tight hamstrings and back. use a strap and keep good alignment. don't worry about going deep into a stretch. hip openers increase mobility in the hip joints :)

I did this crazy and forgot to comment. What a fabulous follow. My flexibility had improved because I could do everything but wheel, although down digs in proper form are still difficult so I am continuing to modify with extended forward bends until the hamstrings warm up. Great flow

wow! i did it! i can't do the crow and some of the shoulder stands but i did the whole thing with a few modifications and i feel fantastic! i sweated allot and the tension i had building up in my shoulder is gone! thank you so much Ali! Namaste
Thank you so much for your videos Ali. They are perfect for rainy days when I just don't feel like going to the gym or going for a run. They are both calming and challenging and have really improved my strength and flexibility. Could you possibly do a video to prepare beginners/intermediates for inversions? I am hoping to get better at head and handstands as well as learn things like frog and forearm stand. I am a pole vaulter so inversions are a big part of my training. Thank you!

as with everything else best to listen to your body. I find that 2-4 times a week is sufficient for developing flexibility. rotate between short and long videos depending on your energy that day. just practice it weekly and you will see big improvements. good luck and keep me posted. :)

Hi Mylann45 , if you don't know the alignment for a new pose just hold the previous pose such as holding the lunge that preceded Eka Pada Kouniyanasana I. Use common sense if it feels wrong don't do it. You can give things a try if you are getting the alignment. We all have to start somewhere :) Namaste

This one is similar to your emotional release class with hip openers. LOVE them both! I am hoping to continue doing these to help my hips open up more. I have had some pain after running because my hips are so tight. This is helping me so much! Thanks Ali!

Sean thank you. It depends on the trimester you are in but you can do my yoga with different modifications provided your physician said it's ok. The restricted poses change in the different trimesters. Have a beautiful pregnancy and a divine motherhood. Love
yes Ayla Fecero said it well. Hip openers are poses that keep your hips healthy and flexible. Overall open hips will help your alignment and ability to train glutes and legs and back in a fuller range of motion so it will give you the opportunity to be in the best shape for your structure :D Love
@ TheKimmi562 Yes, this class is going to deepen flexibility! Sorry, no idea which pose you are describing. If it feels like you are gonna "break yourself" definitely don't do it. I believe in certain level of ease when stretching. Hope that helps :)

@Ali Kamenova I train Brazilian jiu jitsu and want to increase my strength and flexibility towards this martial art. I have really stiff shoulders, hips, quads, and hamstrings. So basically I have very limited flexibility. Which style of yoga would be best suited for me and the goals that I am trying to obtain?
