- Most in business realise that it's often about who you know! This places great importance on getting to know more people. Creatives, including photographers and filmmakers need to NETWORK! Networking is so important and in this video, I look at ways of pushing yourself to enlarge your network.
I'd love to hear your suggestions and thoughts in the comments below!
I used to network a lot, now I got to the point where I dont have to. I would go to networking events in my target client field, and just try to chat with people and have a good time, and only pitch about my business if they ask me about what I do. That way it doesn't feel like I'm pushing it
I believe that you are able to manage the conversation without scaring the other person. If you are a photographer, you can talk about trips as a smooth and easy starting conversation and when the point of the topic of the beautiful nature of other places you can talk about the best areas for a family photo. The main and most important pictures that every person should print and save or save in any devise , but the point is because when someone goes on a travel we make a lot of pictures btu we don't take the most important ones or the best area and time . Boom you get the client . Remember there are potential clients that will request your service now , or later or in a few months or in the future.
This video is more powerful than it intended to be
Great information Simeon. Networking is truly the key to business.
This is probably the most thoughtful video I have watched regarding networking. As an introvert pet photographer, I find it almost impossible to put myself out there and meet people. I'll apply your ideas going forward. Subscribed!
Seriously some of the most solid advice available for filmmakers and creatives on RUclips! Thank you for putting this out there.
Great video!
I've been running my own video production company for a year now and have had some success, but I'm always trying to learn and become more successfully in my ability to create more clients and produce better quality videos. I really enjoy your videos and how you purvey your ideas.
This is awesome! Great video Mr. Simeon, very productive and sound information! keep up the amazing work!
Alex Smith thank very much for the comment and the watch. I hope it’s useful in some way
This turned out to be the most useful video/channel I've found in a long time! Thanks for all the "starting-up-video-production-company" content, keep up the good work! :)
Love this topic, Simeon. Thanks for sharing.
Hi I am from India, a Wealth Advisor and Technical Analyst by profession. Very nicely analysed and explained different experiences and I strongly agree to lay a strong rapport while networking , making a lasting impact may be due to your interpersonal skills or knowledge on the subject. Over speaking never works. It was nice learning @simeon quarrie
Such great truth, formal networking doesn't work that well I find. All my business has come from chatting to people and building a friendship. Like you say Simeon you can build these friendships through social media by just being supportive.
Enjoying your videos.
Dave McDonald this is still something I'm learning and enjoying. But I had to share my thoughts in this video
Loving your thoughts mate
Such a useful and helpful video, thank you for posting this Simeon.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
great video as always! people invest in people, so like you say it's about developing meaningful 1 on 1 relationships... do a good first job and they'll want to come back to you, or recommend you to others
Thank you! Amen to what you say about doing a good job!
Extremely helpful and motivating ! Thanks Simeon!
Awesome stuff.
I'd love your thoughts on this video! Get involved and let me know what subjects you'd like me to discuss in future
Simeon, Thank you so much for this outstanding advice. If you are ever in Atlanta GA, I would love to have you meet my crew and staff for a seminar.
great topic. Networking is so crucial, but so hard for a lot of creatives. keep the vids coming 👍
It is. But it's always a struggle!
Found this really helpful as networking is one of my weaknesses. Thank you.
Geekazoidz! You are not along! Me included!
Hey Simeon, enjoying the content
Could you give tips specific to the start of your network. I suppose the general rule of putting yourself out there is the key. Going out, meeting people. Although it seems at this point those opportunities are not informant of me in that capacity.
To go into a subtopic looking at social media is it proper to add and follow everyone? Hoping to find the one in one-hundred that need your service in that time?
I enjoyed this Simeon. It was engaging and authentic.
Sound practical advice.
Tobias H. Reese I’m glad it reasonated
Thank you! Very informative!
Thanks for commenting
Thanks so much
I am an introvert as well
But I am so glad to learned something brilliant about networking today
Don Sherbro thanks for watching. Had some great advice recently. Flip the dynamic. Arrive among the first and welcome people in. It’s less scary.m when numbers build, rather than arriving to a small room. Likelihood is those arriving anxious and your welcome is most welcome.
The video is great! Thank you!
Nicely said! keep up the good work!

How can i get investors and sponsors on my new film production ?
My on the train moment was that day I reached out to your good self on twitter. If I'd not done that, we may have never crossed paths, or had an opportunity to work together as we did. You just never know when saying hello will really pay off.
very helpful thankyou

Helpful
Yes....
Nice
Thanks so much for taking the time to share this Simeon!
The most impactful introduction tactic that I use is to ask the person I’m trying to network with a very personal question to cut through the small talk and start building a genuine relationship.
I’ve documented how I do it and would love to get your feedback on my process:
