    Easily the best ramen restaurant here in the Philippines. And to think that it's owned and operated by a Filipino is just inspiring and amazing. They really got the taste down pat. The richness of the broth alone is legendary.

    Oh wow! I can’t believe you’re featuring Yushoken.
    My wife and I are traveling to Japan again soon and we would like to know how Yushoken’s Tsukemen stands against Chuka Soba Tomita Tsukemen?
    And also the Super Chashu Shoyu vs Ichiran or Ippudo. We’ve been binging your vlogs a couple of nights now as we are excited for our trip.

    • @drumbum7635
      @drumbum7635 Год назад

      also, the creaminess of the broth is rich as compared to some ramen shops we’ve tried. Was it good? Or too thick?
      How would you rate yushoken out of 10? 10 being Chuka soba Tomita

    • @5AMRamen
      @5AMRamen  Год назад +2

      Yushoken's tsukemen is excellent! Tomita is a bit different in terms of the soup - more niboshi (dried sardine) flavor and a certain grittiness and graininess. My favorite tsukemen shop of all time in Tokyo might actually be a place called Tsukemen Michi. Menya Itto and Oborozuki are very good too. Just note that Tomita is a real big commitment, time-wise.
      Ippudo and Ichiran I would say serve different bowls from the tonkotsu shoyu at Yushoken, with their soup having that delicious creaminess but also a strong shoyu (soy sauce) flavor. Ichiran and Ippudo aren't as soy sauce forward.

      @@5AMRamen Man Thanks for taking the time to reply! :D
      Ah yes, I remembered getting the Shio Tonkotsu in Yushoken and it resembled more to the taste of Ichiran not the Shoyu.
      If Tomita is a 10 where would yushoken tsukemen fare? lol
      A friend of ours has mentioned that Yushoken's broth might have milk in it? hence the creaminess. Is that like a "sin" compared to the pure tonkotsu based soup you can get in Japan (if that claim is true) or would that be okay in the ramen world?
      I'm definitely telling my wife we'll visit most of the places you mentioned as we are staying in Osaka for 5 days and Tokyo for 4 days. Maybe Tomita might be too big of a time commitment for us and I don't mind missing out now since you recommended some interesting places we could opt for instead.
      I'm amazed to be having a conversation with a ramen god. thanks for taking the time to read and reply.

    Very exciting ramen shop, Frank! It would be nice if you could include the prices of the bowls--some people in the US want to charge $20 or more for basic (and often substandard) ramen. Hope you can get a vid with your brother!

    Oh Yushoken IS really good! If you ask me, I consider them the best because they arguably make the most flavorful ramen out here. However! I've realized they can get so flavorful that it tends to overwhelm your palette after the whole bowl. I suggest you try the Ramen in Mitsukoshi mall BGC (Bonifacio Global City) at the food court and I think it's better in the sense that their ramen has a well balanced flavor that I could eat it every week :)
