      I tried your tips for a short time. I was very usefull to stay balance and do it slowly and to stretch the foot. Thank you very much

    Great video! I struggle to lift my leg high enough, I can’t even do 90 degrees when I try my hardest. I can do other kicks fairly well, but the rotated stance of martelo is difficult for me in particular. What stretching exercise should I focus on to get be able to raise my leg up higher?

      pudidotdk Thanks for your comment and question! The rotated stance and the martelo in general as I show here is quite a specific kick. It requires proper preparation. Take your time for this. Improving your martelo is mostly a combination between stretching, strengthening legs and hips, and sometimes even back. I will make a video of how to open up your hips and legs for improving kicking. Stay tuned! Awesome question. Makes me work ;-) well, play, take care!

    Thanx for sharing your knowledge. Great for old (42) beginners like me. I am a capoeira practitioner for 2 years and I’m still struggling to open my shoulders In order to get a fluid macaco. Do You have any tips, tricks and routine to help opening the body (shoulders, Back, hips,...) ?
    And last, but not least, do you plan to upload an Au de frente tutorial ?

      I think the problem is to rotate my hips to land forward.

    Great technique. Do you have any more videos to improve kick height (flexibility)? Or could you upload a video of your stretching routine ?
