I agree with Independent ScanNCutter, I have the SDX225 and it has the 5” screen. Being 71 years old, I need the larger screen.

I found the built-in demos were keeping me from sending files to my machine over USB cable. The beeping noise is okay with me as it tells me the machine recognized the command I was trying to give it. The two key differences with this machine over the DX 125e or higher model numbers appears to be the size of the touch screen display and the number of patterns/fonts that are included. The company doesn't tout the USB 2.0 port on the side for USB Flash Drives, USB 2.0 cable but it appears to have that as well. I'd love it if they didn't force people to use Wi-Fi to operate certain modes or simply do without that functionality if you don't use Wi-Fi. I have features I can't touch because I don't use Wi-Fi.
thanks for the video, I finally got my machine to set up with computer..it was very helpful. my son who's 27 had to inform me I forgot to hit the arrow button on the side after entering the registration number then scroll down and found my pin number. :)
I have the cricut maker right now, definitely thinking about switching. Does this machine draw as well?
Yes it has a draw feature with Brother's line of colored marker pens. It also has two different sizes of pen holders so you can add your own writing instruments. I've seen crafters adapt the pen holders for other tools such as engraving, paper piercing, embossing, etc. I personally want to use mine to make blotter-style prints.
Do you need to purchase a wireless card for this like I did with my CM350?

I am wanting the scanncut machine, my First ever. The comments are making me change my mind. I’m reading about the smaller screens, I am 71, the larger screen, in older models, is sounding better to me. The SDX125 has the larger screen ? I need more info before I decide which one is for me.
Hey Girl. Thanks for your video. You made this simple. I want this machine for Christmas. I'm tired of having to purchase dies for my stamps. I feel a bit nervous about getting this one. I feel like it's going to be hard to do all the settings. I would really only use it to cut out stamp images and my computer is in my craft room for easy hookup. Are there videos on how to scan and cut a stamped image? and this machine is in my budget and the sdx125 is not. Will the SDX85M suit my need for simple die-cutting? Thank you again for the video
Hi! Has the mat loading issue been fixed? I don't want to invest in a machine that will just give up on loading its own mats after a couple of months.
@@BrotherCraftsUSA I have discovered after much research on the internet and understood the operation of my machine that many users blame the mats and rollers for their malfunction and I was one of them and I apologize.
When any technical service site is taken, they tell the user that the roller has worn out and needs to be changed, which is not true! This is the business of the people who maintain these machines and charge you the I change the roller and the user says yes they were right it was the roller because now it works well for me, it was not the roller, it is the tension between the rollers that changes because the screws loosen and when the technician changes the roller, he adjusts this tension and the user think it was the roller, so they question the prestige of a company as old as Brother, making users think that the rollers wear out a lot and have to be changed every 6 months or 1 year just by using paper, which is not It is true, over time the tension between the rollers loosens, for this reason it does not pick up the mat well and it begins to move from side to side.
It is a metal roller that does not wear out that way because of using paper, I have spoken with users who have had their machine for 7 years and have never changed the roller.
I think that Brother should speak out worldwide and teach this to users since I think that it is not justified that for selling a roller sacrifices the good name of a machine and a company as good as Brother is.

Hi there, may I know the cutting force? Fo Maker it is 4000 grm and cameo 5000 gm (5 kg) , what is it for this one? So this supports 12x24 mat right? as I had heard other wise. What is the difference between this and SDX125? I mainly want to cut thick leather. Will the auto blade be sufficient or would I need a deep cut blade? Does this work with SVG files made in inkscape? Last does the built in software need to be updated online?

I bought one and upon first use (using 100lb cardstock), it cut through my mat. There's no phone number for me to call Brother and I'm super upset. Has that ever happened to you?

Why does this machine hast different names in other countries? In Italy it's calld sdx ce an in the USA it's sdx85M? I am from Germany and i ordered a Italien machine at Amazon. Where do i geht a operation manual?
Does this machine cut icing or fondant ??

Hey folks, just wanted to warn you about what might happen if you try to buy this machine from Brother, like I did. The machine was on sale for $379 in Canada. I tried to purchase it, but the website kept malfunctioning and I had to contact customer service to help me. Eventually the agent placed the order. I only noticed an hour later, he put the full price of $459 on the order. He had applied a discount to the purchase, but it wasn't the 15% discount advertised on their site. It was 15 DOLLARS. TLDR, Brother overcharged me $65, won't cancel the order, won't refund the over charge, won't offer a credit on supplies. They just keep telling me to return the cutter in an unopened box. Shipping at my expense, naturally. Don't buy from Brother!!!

@@BrotherCraftsUSA Thanks. I actually did Contact Brother Canada, and they just continued to stonewall. Until I submitted a case with the Better Business Bureau, and sent them a copy. Then they argued about how much they overcharged me for a while, until they offered me some free supplies for the unit. I hope you guys are treating your customers better!
Ya I was going to buy mine from them but then saw their return policy and decided to price match it from Best Buy. You can then return it within 30 days even if it is opened if you run into any issues.
