I remember seeing that beer fridge on for the first time and tearing up. Where I live, you can't walk down the street without hearing at least 3 different languages not English or French being spoken around you. I love our diversity.

I said 'I AM CANADIAN' in Finnish to help get the fridge open. It was great as it got strangers working together and a lot of fun. It was a very clever marketing campaign.

Absolutely LOVED seeing these ads again! 🇨🇦 And loved your reactions to them! 🇨🇦 I was hoping the last clip would be included, especially since it says "I drink Labatt's, not Klingon Ale!" Labatt's is the biggest Canadian brand competitor to Molson's nationwide (or it was at that time). I believe Labatt's was a major sponsor of the "Just For Laughs/Juste Pour Rire" International Comedy Festival, held in Montreal each summer and where Shatner performed in that ICONIC rant! 🇨🇦
Thanks for a great laugh this morning! Epic reaction, and yes,

Canadians are quietly patriotic until Canada Day (July 1) when all hell breaks loose. 😁

There were several of these, including some where they were placed in cities in other countries and the only people who could open them were Canadians (I think they had to use their passport, if memory serves me correctly). They also, if I recall, had one where these guys take the fridge to some tropical island (maybe in the Pacific somewhere?) where there's this lone Canadian who was apparently pining for some Canadian beer. And the next one, the multi-lingual one, was something I had never seen! The historical-footage one following was intriguing, as it showed historical achievements (building the cross-country railroads, creating universal welfare), but also showing ability to laugh at oneself (Phil Esposito tripping on a flower stack, and then bowing to the Russians watching)

The 2nd commercial is after the NHL came back after a full season labor dispute/lockout. Just imagine how the Australian public would react if AFL footie missed an entire season. I can't imagine it going well

The Molson Canadian beer fridge first appeared in 2013 when Molson and its ad agency Rethink built two fridges that could only be opened with a Canadian passport and left them in random locations in Europe - an ad campaign that played on Canada's international reputation as a nation of partiers. The campaign was so popular that the fridge became central to Molson's marketing efforts during the Olympics in Sochi and in subsequent Canada Day campaigns.❤ 🇨🇦

Our drinking age was 18, until 20 days before I turned 18. 19 afer that. Doesn't matter, I was served starting at 16 which was fairly common.
