Hey everyone, thank you so much for watching! Please consider subscribing to the channel. Apologies that this reaction took longer than usual to post. I uploaded a community post that it's available on Patreon and a few minutes later it was finally approved here on RUclips lol! I'll have a more official launch to the Patreon later this year. Thank you all!! What are some of your favorite moments of this amazing film???
Glad to see you went with the Director's cut It's such a worthy sequel to The Shining. Unsolicited opinion/advice: Doctor Sleep's director Mike Flanagan, his writing, editing, directing is SUPERLATIVE. Gerald's Game(2017) The Haunting of Hill House(2018) The Haunting of Bly Manor(2020) Midnight Mass(2021) are all some of my very, very favorite contemporary horror stories/series. I've watched maybe a dozen or so different reaction channels on here react to all of his works, Every single one of the reactor's have added his movies/series to their personal top 10 or top 5 lists of all time. I hope you consider reacting to more of Mike Flanagan's work in the future. His method of telling a story is one of thee absolute BEST to come around in a very, very long time.
The 3 hour director's cut flew by and kept me engaged the whole time :) I agree about the director! I caught way more things when I was editing it frame by frame, and it actually hurt even more seeing it in such detail. The guy is an amazing story teller! And I'm excited to check out more of his work! I think I'll probably go in that order you have listed out. What's your favorite of his films/shows so far??
One thing they hinted at in the film but did not confirm was when Abra refers to Danny as Uncle Dan. In the book it is revealed that Abra's grandmother had an affair with Jack which resulted in Abra's mother. So Abra's mother is Dan's half sister which means that he is actually Uncle Dan. They skirted around confirming it here by using "Uncle Dan" as a cover for their interactions between a grown man and a girl. Never revealing in the film that he's actually her uncle. This in a way makes sense since they are both strong in the shining and there seems to potentially be a hint at it running in families - for example Dick and his grandmother and then Dan and Abra. So glad you enjoyed this so much. Thanks for reacting!
Someone had mentioned this earlier and it blows my mind how they really are family! It makes since how they had such a strong connection, and I wonder if the book has moments between Danny and his half sister. I wonder if the Shining can be traced back to one two people thousands of years ago, and now different families across the world all kind of have that one ancestor. Thanks so much for sharing Gaby!! :)
Holy hell dude, phenomenal reaction video. It's seriously ballsy putting up a 2 hour video, with nearly 100 minutes of it being the actual reaction. I've seen so many channels put up ridiculously short videos to some movies. I understand why because it has to be an insane amount of work to edit effectively but this video is a masterclass. To keep the flow and pace of the movie going whilst keeping everything really relevant to the story included when you're SO restricted with how much copyrighted footage you can use is just epic. To be able to stretch it into an entertaining 100 minutes is next fucking level. I realise I sound like a fanboy but I don't care, credit where it's due man. Just awesome brother. 👌👏 Much love from the UK. ❤️👍🤙
Thank you so much my friend! As I was going through the editing process I just kept thinking, "Damn that scene, moment, sequence is so good and I can't leave it out." And soon enough I realized this was going to be a long one haha! It's just too damn good! Overall, it was pretty tough to edit this one. Yes it's very tedious, but I also found myself getting sad and upset with certain moments in the film and so here I was tired, sad, angry, afraid, heart broken, happy, etc. An insane experience for sure! When I have the Patreon up, I'll have the full reactiona up, and I'll probably have to shorten the RUclips vids a bit more because I want to give you guys more content. Never to a shameful extent though. I agree with you that it's kind of ridiculous and honestly shameful to see some of these 20-30 minute reactions to 2+ hour films. I don't know if it's a lack of effort, or they just upload as much as they can without giving even a decent level of respect to the film itself. Yeah I'm gonna stop before I go on a crazy rant lol! I'll be starting my "Film Review" videos soon, and excited to share some other new stuff with you guys. Thanks again for the continued support and beautiful feedback! ❤
Flannagan is a masterclass of how you do hommage to two completely different visions and still adding your own artistic touch. Absolutely love the directors cut of this movie. Great reaction!
@@Polymorphia1965 Oh I forgot all about that. I can't even imagine what direction he could take it in. My body is ready. *sees 2026 as a projected date * my body is sad 😩😄
I couldn't agree with you more! It's pretty ballsy to take on a project that likely had a lot of die hard fans skeptical about what would be the final product/result. I honestly don't think this could've been any better than what he created. It just hits so many elements on a high level! I can't wait to see more of his work! Thank you so much for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction :)
The dude on the bleachers who pointed out that the "kid is a natural" is Danny Lloyd who played Danny Torrance in Stanley Kubrick's the Shining. He's a teacher now. This was a cameo for fun.
An element that I don't see many people react to is the contrast between the comfort Dan offers the hospice patients and Rose's attempt to "comfort" Grandpa Flick as he "cycles." The contrast between Dan's gift and Rose's ultimate emptiness and the soullessness of the "empty devils." The True Knot, for all of their terrifying power, is just an inverted pantomime of the greater power of love and humanity. Love it!
I'm so glad you pointed this out! The story telling is on another level, even on a first watch, but damn does it continue to elevate as you watch it again and these different moments can be pieced together. Thank you so much for sharing!
Regarding the scene where young Danny goes into the bathroom and stares in the mirror - he actually changes his eye color, so his mom will no longer see Jack's eyes when she looks at him.
Thank you so much Brandon! That truly means a lot, and it's such a pleasure to share these reactions with all of you :) Many more reactions and additional content coming your way!
My sentiments EXACTLY!!! Best. Sequel. Ever. One of the best movies, period. LOVED your reaction, my friend. I envy you being able to experience the rest of Flanagan's work for the first time now, but I'll definitely be here with you. Subscribed!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :) It's amazing how nearly 40 years later, they were able to make such a great sequel to an iconic film. I bet there was a lot of hesitancy to make a sequel and the fans of "The Shining" were probably very on edge when the film first came out. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of Mike Flanagan's work. What is your favorite film or series of his?
@@jessebatres6895 ALL of his work is phenomenal, but his adaptation/re-imagining of The Haunting of Hill House will always hold a special place in my heart, as it helped me through a very difficult time in my personal life. Stephen King called it "close to a work of genius." Aside from his strengths as a writer & director, Flanagan has also assembled an amazing pool of talented actors with whom he works regularly.
@@jessebatres6895For my money, Midnight Mass is one of the greatest combinations of writing, themes, and acting I’ve ever seen in my life. One of the top 20 pieces of media I’ve ever watched.
Glad you’re watching the extended version. This film is one of the best sequels ever made. This and Blade Runner 2049 are perfect sequels. It creates a sequel that satisfies the book retroactively and film independently, respectively. The same Mike Flanagan actors from his other projects are really great here too. A great sequel and companion to the book and film The Shining. Dick Hallorann tells Danny that “shining” is, at its core, a fusion of telepathy and clairvoyance. Being able to shine means being able to communicate with others using the mind, and gives people the ability to see things that have happened in the past, or will happen in the future. There’s also no major revelation about the connection between Dan and Abra in the movie. In the book, when Dan goes to visit Concetta (book character) , he learns that Abra’s mother is none other than Jack Torrance’s daughter. Yes, the book’s version of Dan and Abra’s mom are half-siblings, which means that the character that Abra chooses to call “Uncle Dan” really is, well, Uncle Dan. This fact might have made it easier to understand why Abra and Dan maintain such a firm connection, and possibly even suggest that shining powers are hereditary.
Oh Blade Runner is on my list so I'm glad you mentioned it, and I'll be checking out the sequel as well of course! This truly is a great follow up and continuation of the story! It was actually so hard to edit this film reaction because I found myself getting really sad throughout so many moments while seeing it frame by frame and truly taking it all in. Wow! That's insane that they truly are related and what an insane backstory that connects them! So there must be some connection between a lot or maybe even all people that shine. Possibly originating from one person thousands of years ago. Man that blows my mind!!!
Yet again, awesome reaction mate! The way you get so invested emotionally is what makes your content so great. It’s such a pleasure to watch and so rare! Shine on Jesse! 😊 Now that you’ve been introduced to Mike Flanagan, you’ve got a whole rabbit hole to go down. His stuff is amazing, especially his horror Netflix series. Like SOOO good!! Enjoy it all - we’ll all be here for it! Peace brother!❤
Abra(Kyliegh Curran) may look familiar to you she's the granddaughter Lenore Usher in the miniseries THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER.. and Mike Flanagan also did that show as well... Your reaction was so GOOD!! It was just like mine. It was like watching a good football game. The only two things I would have changed was making Dan Way Stronger and have Abras dad and Dans friend Billy not die! Bc I wanted Dan to wipe the floor with Rose. I just wanted his power to come alive and over power her. But other than that I truly loved this movie.
LETHA THIS WAS SO GOOD!!!! This was a gruesome editing process for me because I found myself getting extremely sad and upset while watching it frame by frame and it was a crazy experience. I fell in love with the characters and it was so heartbreaking to see what happened to Billy and Abra's dad. I completely feel the same way you do about it, and wish I could change it but I guess it just makes the story hit harder and hurt us even more. I'm pretty sure this isn't true, but I kept thinking "What if Billy has some very small measure of Shine". The way they kept pointing at how he "can tell things about people". I don't know, it just made me think that he has an ability to truly tell who's good and who's bad. AND YES!!! I also was wishing that Danny was a lot stronger. I felt like I was trying to speak it into existence a few times like when I was saying, "I feel like Danny is a nuclear explosion compared to everyone else with Shine, but he refuses to let it all out." I think if he had embraced it from a young age and let it come out, than he probably would've easily steam rolled through Rose and the entire True Knot. I mean he's kicking ass here and there at least a few times, and doing so while never truly taking the time to fully train his mind when he was younger. Yeah I'm gonna go with my belief that he was essentially the ultimate badass but decided to not go that route lol! I just love him so much! And I have to watch all of Mike Flanagan's work. I looked up his films and series, and all I've seen is the film "Hush" and parts of "Oculus". Looking forward to checking the rest of his work. Some people are really talking him up so I'm excited!
@jessebatres6895 I'm glad you felt what I was trying to say. LoL. I also think Billy had some shine bc he instantly liked Dan and helped him plus believed everything he said without any doubts! The movie Hush is so good. I can't wait to see what is next. This isn't related to this movie but in your latest reaction of the Exorcist 3 there's a girl getting really angry at me for just commenting I'd love to see you react to the new exorcist to compare them. She went off on me. Hopefully you can get to the point to appoint a cpl of mods and they can help delete rude or bullying comments. Have a great day. 💙
Thank you so much Correy! I'm glad to have you on this journey with me :) I have many more reactions and content coming your way. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend!
I didn't watch "Doctor Sleep" until I saw you viewed it, then I had to play catch-up. Now that I've seen it I really want to read the book. The director did an amazing job of capturing the original movie (same long scene dissolves, music, sound effects, etc.) Even the actors taking the place of Scatman, Danny, and Shelley were amazing! And, of course, another amazing reaction, Jesse! I was with you jumping the whole way through. When I saw Ewan I just had to do the meme: "That's f*ckin' Obi-Wan Kenobi" LOL ...He was great, though! Very well done!
Jake Tremblay, the actor that played the baseball boy, practicality traumatized the other actors with his performance. The actors were worried because of how well he did, and when the scene ended, Jake just got up like it was nothing, almost laughing it off.
Man! That scene was terrifying and heartbreaking! I don't know how an actor can stay in character as the bad guy in that kind of scene. I feel like it's something that would make me breakdown after shooting a scene like that. Props to the actors for muscling it out. And I'm gonna have to keep an eye on that kid because that's some serious talent he displayed in such a short amount of time!
@@jessebatres6895 Check out Jacob in the movie Wonder and also Room with Brie Larson. Room was the film that put Jacob on the map. He is mostly is a dramatic actor but if you want to see him in something light and fun check out Good Boys. Its a Seth Rogen produced film, sort of a middle school Superbad.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and at some point I'm going to make ranking videos and I'll probably have one that focuses on movie sequels. I'm pretty sure this one will make the list. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Another great reaction jesse! I loved this movie. Usually sequels arent as good as the original but this one is up there. Dont know if you noticed around 1:27:03 mark it seemed like jack had snapped out of it for a moment and wasnt lloyd anymore and became dannys father again. He referred to danny as “son”. Easy to miss on the first watch. The only thing i would have changed with the movie is toward the end when the hotel was on fire. They should have replaced wendy with dannys father jack consoling him since he was the one stuck in there and they could have made it look like jack was back to his normal self since the evil was being vanquished. By the way i subscribed. Great reactions man! 👍
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I love that you took time to provide some feedback! That moment when Jack called Danny son, is one I didn't quite catch that first time, but when I was editing the video it definitely jumped out. And it was so awesome to see those minute little glimpses of Jack Torrance coming out. OH MAN! Wow I love that idea about Jack being the one who would be there with Danny in the boiler room. Ugh man, I can visualize it and it would be so beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing and hope you had a great Halloween! 🎃
It seems like you just react to movies, but I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend watching the shows that Mike Flanagan did on Netflix ("The Haunting of Hill House", "The Haunting of Bly Manor", "Midnight Mass", "The Fall of the House of Usher", and "Midnight Mass"). They are all so good. I'm so glad I found and subscribed to your channel. You have such great reactions and insight to the movies you watch! Glad you enjoyed this. Such a great movie. Mike Flanagan did such a great job paying homage to the book and the movie.
Thank you so much Lauren, and I greatly appreciate your kind words! When I look at the comments, I'm like "Hey has Lauren checked it out yet?" lol! Yes, she was so amazing in this! And I'm excited to see where her career goes. So much talent and range at such a young age. That final moment between her and Danny, "Shine on Abra Stone", and how she smiled at him. Yeah that made my heart melt
This film rectified a lot of the mistakes that were made with the original film. While yes it was an amazing HORROR film, they really dropped the ball on the story front. Truly. They also changed WAY too much, and it’s a large reason that Steven King hated “The Shining”’s film. He loved this one. When you stick to the story, and add horror- you hit the mark. Every time.
I saw this in theaters and was enthralled the whole time. I loved Abra and felt bad when she said her parents were afraid of her gift but also used it when they wanted to.😢 Great sequel and glad people are seeing that now.
It's such an amazing and emotional film! I understand how you feel, and it was sad how you could see them look at her a certain way at times. I loved how her character embraced it, and how Danny tells her that he was wrong for saying to hide it. "Shine on Abra Stone", and then her smile towards him. So damn sweet and a beautiful moment!
If you want to watch a more "book accurate" version of The Shining, you should watch the made for TV version, which stars Steven Weber and Stephen King himself. King is famously known for not liking Kubrick's film version, which takes out a lot of the supernatural aspect and reduces Jack Torrance to just being a homicidal, psychotic drunk with a little shine in him. The TV version adds Jack's humanity back into the character as well as the love a father has for his son. The ending (like the book originally ends) is quite bittersweet and melancholic, just like King intended.
I'll have to check this out! I've heard people are split on it, but I'd love to at least check out a different rendition of it on my own. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Please always feel free to provide feedback :)
@@jessebatres6895I thought it was cool to have a much more book accurate version of the story. When King wrote The Shining, he stayed at the Stanley Hotel which is a real hotel in Colorado. It is supposedly haunted and King stayed in one of the rooms that was supposedly said to be haunted. He said he never saw a ghost or anything like that but, it did freak him out. The Overlook Hotel in Kubrick's film is not the actual hotel that King stayed in when he wrote the book but, in the TV version, they actually do use the real Stanley Hotel as The Overlook Hotel. That was also a cool touch. Some other King films that you might want to check out are The Green Mile, Misery, The Shawshank Redemption, The Mist and the TV version of IT. In my opinion, the TV version of IT, though highly censored, is better than the 2017/2019 version. Despite the theatrical version being rated R, it is censored in other ways that truly change the story and make it less impactful than the TV version. Plus, I prefer Tim Curry as Pennywise The Clown rather than Bill Skarsgard's version. I read IT for the first time back in my senior year of High School and to date, it is the only King story that truly freaked me out. I made the mistake of reading it at night one weekend and I couldn't sleep cause my mind kept playing tricks on me, haha. It was weird cause I turned in the book to my school library after I finished reading it and literally the next day, I was at home watching TV and I saw the first trailer for the TV version. It immediately caught my attention as the story was still very fresh in my head. I had a high suspicion that it was a TV version of IT and I was right. I remember being so excited to watch it and at the time, it also freaked me out. I wish they had not made all the changes to the story but, it being a TV version, it was understandable. On the other hand, the new 2017 version of IT makes a lot of chages as well but, out of a feer of being canceled, not because they had any censors. To me that was a waste of an opportunity to tell a truly accurate book version of the story, despite the cast of the film and the director saying that it was going to adhere to the book a lot better than the TV version, which was a lie. In my opinion, the changes they made to the film directly contradict the actual book. To me, this is worse than the changes made on the TV version.
Bro Kubrick made his own film loosely based on Kings novel. King hated that adaptation and made a made for tv film with Steven Webber that is more accurate to the book. Being that this is an adaption to the actual book Dr. Sleep by King it's not really going to answer as many questions.
This is the rare example where not only is the sequel as good if not better than the original movie, but also better than the book. For Mike Flanagan to take three different endings and do honor to all 3 is amazing.
I wonder how die hard fans felt when it was first announced that a sequel was gonna be made. I bet there was a great deal of doubt and skepticism. I'm sure there might be some that just never accepted it, but I think the vast majority would likely give this follow up high praise. It's just such a damn good movie!
I realized that Bruce Greenwood (hospice doctor) and Carel Struycken (Grandpa Flick) have been in at least three horror movies together. Servants of Twilight, Gerald's Game, and Doctor Sleep.
Nice! I haven't heard of Servant's of Twilight, but Gerald's Game is one that I have on my list to check out later down the road :) The actor who plays Grandpa Flick has such a distinctive look, I would imagine he'd have an opportunity to play some unique characters.
Oh HELLS YEAH!!! My man... just... Hell yeah!! I've been waiting for this one. Clicking that play button right n... EDIT - And if you end up liking this one, please consider watching more from the Director, Mike Flanagan. Especially his Haunting of Hill House series. 10 of the best episodes ever and featuring a couple actors from this very movie :)
Hope you enjoyed it my friend! I found myself getting really sad while editing this film reaction for so many reasons. It's a powerful film with a lot of elements that can really sting you. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of Mike Flanagan's work. Would Haunting of Hill House be a good place to start?
Tried to combine both the book, and original movie to make this. In the original book of The Shining, the boilers burst, and building burnt. In the movie, it didn't. I like how they used the original movie in this sequel rather than directly from the book since more people probably know the movie more.
If you like Ewan McGregor, I will suggest some of my favorite movies with him, as he is one of my favorite actors.. First of all, my favorite movie of all time : Moulin Rouge. It came out just before Attack of The Clones. It's a musical with Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman as leads. They both have beautiful voices and the movie is amazing. The director is Baz Luhrmann so it's completely crazy but many people adore this movie, including me. Don't watch the trailer though, cause it doesn't show at all what the movie is about. Plus, if you watch it, you will see a nice easter egg in the Clone Wars in a future season. The Impossible with Ewan, Tom Holland (his very first movie) and Naomie Watts. It came out in 2012 and it's a true story about the 2004 boxing day tsunami. Prepare the tissus. Trainspotting. It came out in 1996 and is one of Ewan's most praised movie. It's about drug addiction. Big Fish from Tim Burton : came out in 2003. I'd say it's a typical Tim Burton movie. The Island with Scarlett Johansson and Sean Bean. Came out in 2005. Don't watch the trailer to not spoil yourself !! It's from Michael Bay so it's all action but I love Scarlett as well so it's a movie with both lead actors I love, it has a special place in my heart. Down with Love, came out in 2003, with Renée Zellweger. It's a romantic comedy, it's very original and it's very funny. I love you Phillip Morris, came out in 2009. It's a true story, about Steven Russel (Jim Carrey), a con man, who falls in love with Phillip Morris (Ewan) in prison. It's funny.
Freaking amazing movie. A great sequel which makes me happy. Sometimes the sequels are pathetic but this was incredible. Great directing i agree with ya man 👏
It's so insane how this director makes you invested and fall in love with the characters at such a high level. I've gotten invested with characters of course, but this guy did it in a different way. Can't wait to see his other work! Thanks so much for watching and the continued support Josh!
Hey Margo, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction :) It's so fun to check out all these amazing movies. This one was truly a special and fantastic film. Excited to have you on this journey with me 😀❤
Another great reaction. 👏 I really enjoyed this one. A lot of us knew you would have a blast with this film. So glad you were not disappointed. Keep up the great work. 👍 Lots of love and support for you and your channel. ❤ Recommendation: If you're looking for another good film with an unexpected plot twist to continue spooky season, check out Orphan, an underrated 2009 horror film starring Vera Farmiga (from the Conjuring franchise) and Isabelle Fuhrman. If you have not seen it, you're in for quite a ride. 😉
Thank you so much Edith! I can't express how much your kind words mean to me. I love that so many recommended this film, and I'm glad I got to watch it while The Shining was so fresh on my mind. This film pulled at other areas of my heart, and it was actually tough to edit it frame by frame because of certain scenes and moments. Oh nice!! I'll add that one to my list! Always love films with a good twist, and it's even more intriguing if it's a horror film with a twist. Thank you! ❤ 😉
It truly is an amazing sequel and I love how the director paid respect to the first film. And yes, that specific scene was so hard to watch. It honestly broke my heart when I had to go back and edit the reaction and got to that part again. So damn brutal!
Mike Flanigan is a huge fan of the classics and really knows how to elevate the source material. He's a big name in modern horror accordingly. I think The Fall Of The House of Usher (a compilation adaptation of many of Edgar Alan Poe's works) is his best work yet, but Doctor Sleep is my favorite movie of his. If you can fit it in your schedule- Mike's miniseries Midnight Mass lands incredibly well around Easter 😇 and is a great introduction to many of his recurring actors.
I agree about House of Usher. Hill House will always be nearest to my heart, but Usher is a masterpiece. All of Flanagan's work is phenomenal, and I can't wait to see what he does with The Exorcist.
It's so awesome to hear all the great things about him, and it's getting me excited to check out the rest of his work! It sounds like he has his finger on the pulse and is giving the audience unique and compelling stories, and it's even more impressive that it's in a genre like horror. I'll be checking out more of his work soon, and probably in order of release so it should probably put Midnight mass somewhere near Easter, which would work out perfectly!
A late comment. To better understand this film, the audience should watch it several times because it is a challenge to one's intellect and consciousness. It's not your typical horror film. And in this case, the sequel explains the meaning of the Shinning. ✌️😎
You're 100% right!!! It was an insane experience to edit the reaction because I got to see the film second by second and frame by frame. It hit even harder and it was awesome to catch some additional details. And even with that, I feel like I can watch it 20 times and catch something new each time. Just an amazing film!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting :)
WOAH!! Okay that's gonna be interesting! The Exorcist is elevated because of it's amazing story and performances, so I'm super curious to see his take on it.
Look closely at the doctor's office, when the doctor is talking to Danny about finding his watch after Danny told him where it was. Its the same office where Jack Torrence had his job interview for the caretakers position at the Overlook!
I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me at first, but I was able to sort of capture it while watching. It's so awesome how things from the past film were incorporated here! Thanks for watching and commenting Ben! :)
@@jessebatres6895 I picked up on this when I first saw the film in the theater (can't for the life of me figure out why it did so poorly at the box office). At first I thought it was just a cool little easter egg, but the more I thought about it the more I saw the deeper meaning. In both movies, the scene that takes place in this office setting is a job interview, presenting the protagonist with an opportunity of pulling himself out of a low point and turning his life around. It was the threshold for both characters' destiny. After proving to be the beginning of Jack's final descent into darkness, it was the beginning of Dan's redemption here.
@jessebatres6895 I caught it the first time I watched DS. It took me down a different path when I rewatched it again later. Made the whole movie take on a different direction for me!
@Polymorphia1965 I think one reason why it didn't do so great at the box office is because sequeals have gotten to be a crappy continuation of a story, plus there's too many sequeals to too many movies being made anymore
As always, Stephen King delivers an awesome story!!! I am sooo thrilled that you enjoyed it. I agree with many of the other comments recommending that you check out more of Mike Flanagan's shows etc. You would love them!!! 😁😍🥹

Agreed! Gives me high hopes for Flanagan's Exorcist film!
Best reaction I've seen with Doctor Sleep!
Thank you so much! This film really got to me, even more so after watching it and letting it resonate. I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction Queen :)
Your channel is going to blow up you put a lot of emotion in your reviews and it’s fantastic!!!
Rose the Hat was played by Rebecca Ferguson, fantastic actress! First saw her in The White Queen mini-series! ❤
So glad you reacted to this one! This is such a spectacular sequel, really paying due respect to the original with incredible writing and acting!
I enjoyed your reaction so much!! 💜👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
So glad I found you. Love the heart in your reactions.
@@jessebatres6895
Check out Jacob in the movie Wonder and also Room with Brie Larson. Room was the film that put Jacob on the map. He is mostly is a dramatic actor but if you want to see him in something light and fun check out Good Boys. Its a Seth Rogen produced film, sort of a middle school Superbad.
This is definitely one of the best sequels that i have watch. Great react mate
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and at some point I'm going to make ranking videos and I'll probably have one that focuses on movie sequels. I'm pretty sure this one will make the list. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Your reaction to this masterpiece is excellent and spot on! ✌️😎
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction :) I'll be watching it again soon!
Great reaction! Youve become my favorite reactor, I was so surprised how good this film was, the actress who plays Abra was phenomenal
The same actress was also excellent (albeit in a smaller roll) in Flanagan's The Fall of the House of Usher.
I saw that. Wasn’t nearly as good as the movie.
❤🎉😊 Love this movie Greta reaction ❤🎉😊
Thank you so much Lex! ❤
@@jessebatres6895 Steven King said he wrote Dr. Sleep because Danny is the one character that he always wondered what happened to them.
I realized that Bruce Greenwood (hospice doctor) and Carel Struycken (Grandpa Flick) have been in at least three horror movies together. Servants of Twilight, Gerald's Game, and Doctor Sleep.
Nice! I haven't heard of Servant's of Twilight, but Gerald's Game is one that I have on my list to check out later down the road :)
The actor who plays Grandpa Flick has such a distinctive look, I would imagine he'd have an opportunity to play some unique characters.
Flannagan loves a degloving!😂
You do the best reactions.
Legend
Thank you so much Kathryn! Glad you're enjoying the reactions :) ❤
It's funny.
Awesome reaction and review 🎬
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Wow, ok you are so fun! I really, really love how much you enjoyed this! It really is such a fantastic movie. New sub here. 😁
Hey Margo, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction :) It's so fun to check out all these amazing movies. This one was truly a special and fantastic film. Excited to have you on this journey with me 😀❤
👍🏿👍🏿 This movie is a masterpiece. A+ reaction.
Thanks my friend! Hope you enjoyed it!
Another great reaction. 👏 I really enjoyed this one. A lot of us knew you would have a blast with this film. So glad you were not disappointed. Keep up the great work. 👍 Lots of love and support for you and your channel. ❤
Recommendation: If you're looking for another good film with an unexpected plot twist to continue spooky season, check out Orphan, an underrated 2009 horror film starring Vera Farmiga (from the Conjuring franchise) and Isabelle Fuhrman.
Thank you! ❤ 😉
What an awsome sequal after all those years, although some parts are hard to watch(we all know which part) but a great sequal just the same.
It truly is an amazing sequel and I love how the director paid respect to the first film. And yes, that specific scene was so hard to watch. It honestly broke my heart when I had to go back and edit the reaction and got to that part again. So damn brutal!
The child actor that played Danny in "The Shining" was also in this movie
I looked up some details and went back to watch the scene that he's in. So cool!!!
Haunting of Hill House was my next turn. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.!!
There are a ton of Stephen King’s Dark Tower series references in this film.
"kids shouldn't walk home alone - no no no - bastards - god damn - etc."
hey sweetie ,
the movie you are watching is a movie ... !!!
Wait til he finishes the exorcist remake...wow march 2026
The man is such a genius, and it's amazing how he built onto the story and delivered captivating characters in this universe of The Shining. I'll be checking out more of Mike Flanagan's work (films and shows) :) This film really hooked me and I have to see more!!
