@@Drewp06then I'd be interested to see Portnoy play... Let's say.... Illumination Theory, and adding this so called "soul" into the song. IF Portnoy can respect all the orchestration in the song as is; not butcher it up "Portnoy style".

Doctor Mike is the man who will help all us mortals to play better and for me as an amateur drummer be able to explain the hows and whys. While we are called rhythm keepers I always play melodically for the song. Go Doc!
Beside the fact that their intro price should be the final price tag and not 10 bucks above a whole sdx this drum libary is one of the best drum vsts i have ever played....am blown away. Very well made
It's funny because just a week or two ago I mentioned to ML Sound Labs that they need to do a signature Mangini kit. Not knowing this was a thing. Man, this is cool
Hi, in the GUI you can see a 3mm reference Brass snare. But that one is not shown here. Does someone know if they actually recorded the reference Brass snare? Thanks a lot.
@@johnnelson4386 Yep, that's what I though ... That does not mean it don't like it. He is the hard progressive metal guy. Something like Symphony X or Circus Maximus. DT with Portnoy wasn't sloppy. MP is a fabulous drummer. Mike Mangini and his incredible knowledge opens a wider range for DT technicially, but he was not really involved into the songwriting.
Best drummer of DT 👍❤👍
hæææ. what does DT mean
Seriously?
I still can’t believe Dream Theater cut him loose. He is without a doubt one of the most incredible musicians that has ever lived. Kudos to you Mike!
agree so very very much 👍🏼
He is one of the best drummers i ever seen and heard. I think DT want the " old way" back. The songwriting, the spirit. Older men feel this need.
He's a machine but he doesn't add the soul to DT that Portnoy does. It's time to change.

Mike, you're the man.... let's go !!!
A first class professional right here!
We've reached boss level drum plugs in lol love it. Will have to buy it!
You had me at the "Annihilator Set The World On Fire" 🙂
My MANGINI’s new album is phenomenal. I absolutely love it. I just wish it came with lyrics.

Yup, we sampled a pearl brass reference snare. It just didn’t make it into the filming of this video.
@@MixWaveOfficial awesome! Thanks for the reply
Dream Theater just went backwards.. Mangini's drumming brought them to the next level, and their first Grammy.
Mangini is great but way to robotic. Portnoy just has incredible feel and energy

I thought what the hell was Alan Rickman doing in MixWave.
“Why do you need so many bass drums?”
“Why SHOULDNT i be able to use so many bass drums?”
his KIT is actually sounded better than when he was in DT ..
💯
Still use superiour drummer...
But mixwave create the best drum vsts outthere....easily👌👍
Golden ratio mike ;) 💫
Why you didn't use dereverb for voice on this "podcast"? A mystery.I hope the product itself will be bombastic, Mike deserves it.
With Portnoy, DT is going to be sloppy again - what a shame
