      That's because most Preppers or anyone for that matter do not think about their Health as a tool for suvival, not only for themselves, but for their family tree. Health related problems is the #1 cause of death.l, followed by accidents (safety), then threats (security). ♥✔ ️🚧✔🛡✔

    I appreciate that the food you're prepping isn't unhealthy garbage, like many other preppers are stocking.
    In a emergency bug-in situation you want to be eating especially healthy, not eating mac n cheese & sugary cereals & processed meats like other preppers.

      We still have processed food but we ration it. We live an 80/20 lifestyle. That's basically healthy during the week and whatever on weekends but it's definitely good to have all the raw ingredients to make our own healthy versions.

It's a nightmare in the UK as some of the stores appear to be reducing their gluten free products section. Hi Anita. There's also ANOTHER vegan that is a prepper, and surprisingly, his user name is quite similar! He goes by the name, Plant Based Homestead Prepper. His name is Roderick and his wife's name is Jennifer. They live in Virginia. You may have already heard of them ? Their video's are about eating vegan and also they have been sharing their story on how they have been working towards leaving the urban life and finding a homestead.
      Their video's are different in their format than this one. (not everyone has all the nice editing techniques). They are great people and share good, loving, common sense, life advice. 😎

    Heads up people, if you are planing on building that rolling Rack, I have more changes I need to share!!! I'll have to do another video but I started creating a ruler on the sides so I'll know how many I have of each item just by looking at the last can and I should have made rows for the same size cans and put the bigger cans on bottom working up. The problems I had doing an inventory or seeing dates is that the bigger cans block the smaller so keep the bigger ones to the right by the wall. The most common cans are #300 cans. I looked up standard sizes so try putting all the same on one rack or at least make the bigger ones closer to the wall and smaller on the outside. You'll be able to see the dates and then put marks on the rails for inventory. Then, before going shopping, write down the qty and Last Exp. Date. Then buy the ones with a greater Exp. Date or you'll be trying to insert them in the middle and that makes it hard with different sizes in the same rack. Anyway, I'll do a video once I change mine. Hope this helps!!

    Fantastic to watch, thank you. One thing I am concerned about is relying on nutritional yeast for B12. It is not in an easily digested form, and some people cannot absorb the B12 from it at all. All stomachs are different but it is worth looking at the symptoms and checking you are actually getting enough to prevent them.

    • @plantbasedprepper
      @plantbasedprepper  3 года назад +2

      Didn't know nooch was't a good source of B12 but I do a full panel blood test every 6 months and frequently track my nutrition in Cronometer. I'm pretty dialed in but I'm not always that good about it. I can totally tell when I'm eating too much processed food and not enough nutrition based on my energy levels, physical and mental abilities. Not everyone is the same so it's a really good idea to request a full blood panel and actually get a copy to know for sure. Thanks.

    I can't tell you how much I appreciate this!! We're a vegan family (leaning into WFPB) and it's SO hard to find information on what to stock as a vegan. Everyone thinks that because we naturally have beans and rice on hand we're set and it was only through the months of lockdown that we realized just how wrong that was. Because of this video I found a few new items to try and a few brands of things we love that are cheaper than what we're using now! Thank you thank you thank you!

    Thanks for your informative video. Sometimes my reading glasses fail me when date and ingredient print is teeny tiny....I solve that problem by using the zoom on my cell camera to read labels. Have been able to share this tip with many other shoppers I see squinting at packaged/canned food. I so apreciate finding a plantbased prepper...a true blessing! I am gluten & soy free with no added sugar, salt or oil in ingredience - definitely a challenge. 😁

    • @plantbasedprepper

      I tried using my phone but the zoom and focus on mine kept getting me frustrated. That's when I discovered and bought reading glasses that are 1, 1.25, 1.50, etc magnification but those are a hassle for me, without a hand bag, to carry around too. I think stores should put a magnification strip along each aisle because, at this point, we won't be able to read anything without technology...

    soap towel tablets...been experimenting in making them..takes less space and easy to use.. just add water ontop of the tablet and it expands and use it for washing your face/hand body and then simply clean with water. also make some candles.. or scented candles.. good in emergencies.
    my granny used Himalayian mountain salt along with river salt.. in congunction with seaseme seed oil, coconut oil, these are both good for cooking and can be used as skin and hair moisturizers.

    Great video! Making coco whip is super easy, just put a can of coconut milk in the fridge over night and whip with a hand held mixer the next day. I like to add cinnamon to mine, some people add stevia as well.

    • @plantbasedprepper
      @plantbasedprepper  3 года назад

      I'll try it again. I bought a co2 whipping can and I gave up because it wouldn't spray out of the can right and wasted too many cartridges. Do you scoop off the fat only and just store it in a bowl? We will reuse the container if it's that simple.

    • @wendya1250
      @wendya1250 3 года назад

      @@plantbasedprepper Yes if you put it in the fridge then you can pour off the water (save that for your smoothie or soup maybe). I then add 1 Tablespoon of the better than milk soy powder I saw that you have and 1 T of powdered sugar or your sweetener of choice and beat it with a hand mixer. A teaspoon of vanilla is optional. Store in a closed container in the fridge.

    You probably don't need this information, but when the C Virus hit, I was not one of the lucky people to get toilet paper early, so I became very saving of T Paper. I hung a fabric bag near the cammode, and when I need to blow my nose in the restroom, I use that rag. Turns out about 90 percent of my T paper usage was blowing my nose. It extended my T paper hugely!!! I don't use nearly a roll a week.

    Thank you. I get the basic stuff in bulk (beans, grains). There are LARGE cans of beans that are
    must less $ than smaller cans. I have learned that peanut butter only hs a 6 month shelf life. Watch out for bugs in pasta boxes. I had to throw out over 2 dozen pasta's (gluten free and others) that went buggy. Be careful of bugs getting in all grain items as well. 5 gallon buckets are good for storage.
    Most pacckaged almond milks are mainly water. They have only 1g of protein in them. best wishes.

    We use the soy curls to make “beef” stroganoff, stew, “chicken” pot pie, and several other entrees. It’s very versatile and satisfying. I smile when people ask, “You don’t eat meat? What do you eat and how do you get protein?” It’s obvious that your family eats a very varied diet. Also, do you keep large quantities of dried beans? Your set up is very neat and well organized. Thanks for the video!
