israeli citizen here never heard of such mega ultra pro max project
Any body who knows this area would know that it has a plateau over 2500 feet above sea level making this project impossible. The Suez canal is a sea level canal and the Panama canal only needs 3 locks to raise 82 feet to Gatun Lake.
There is a route about 800 ft in elevation, from the Gulf of Aqaba to the lowlands south of the Dead Sea, along the Jordanian border. But this would flood the valley all the way to Gallilee, inundating large areas of Israel and Jordan, including the Dead Sea and Jordan River valleys. It would be a disaster.

And no to the Ben Gurion ‘s name !

Utter twaddle
From an engineering standpoint this canal is possible but not feasible. It would need around one hundred locks to pass the 2000 ft elevation between the Gulf of Eilat /Aqaba and the Mediterranean Sea. Those locks would require over 60 million gallons of water to be pumped from the sea to the top of the lock system each hour.
Edit: Double those figures for the dual canals proposed (200 locks and 120 million gallons per hour) .
Better to go North from Eilat to the Dead Sea, then diagonally across via the Jezreel Valley from south of Beit She'an to just south of Haifa.
@@abatesnz It does not matter what direction you take, the minimum elevation for any path between the Gulf of Eilat /Aqaba and the Mediterranean Sea is still over 2000 feet. Pumping that much water to an artificial inland lake at the highest elevation every hour is not feasible because of the number of pumps, pipes, and power requirements.
Any lock takes time, time is money. This is economically a stupid idea. If it takes double the time to pass through this new canal, it will not be economically viable. And it will give Egypt a perfect reason to collect even more from each passage.
@mudboy9762 nah, they are both at sea level. The canal can remain so if heading north to the Dead Sea, up the River Jordan, then diverting NW towards Haifa, from just south of Beit She'an, crossing via the Jezreel Valley where I said. No lock needed.

A canal could go this route through tunnels so minimal water would be required as the canal remains at sea level. In the uk we have 200 yr old canals that do this. In pre motor days, when barges were usually pulled by horses, who clearly couldn't manage the tunnels, men used to lie down on planks laid across the barge and " walk" along the tunnel walls either side, to propel the barge forward !
Is there one of these tunnels near Angel, Islington running East-West on Regent's canal?

Well Egypt could just block the Gulf of Aqauba and turn it into a lake. This would also be good for Saudi Arabia and Egypt for security reasons. They can make ships pay to pass to pay for the project.

Nothing, Egypt can block the trade at Sharm-a-sheick. So there is no point for Israel to build this tunnel. this video is just fucking stupid and is based on nothing really
On what grounds? You can't just randomly decide to block shipping. The sea and path of ships outside the proposed canal are natural water ways and fall under freedom of navigation.
the water territory the ships need to get through to reach the canal is Egyptian water@@somethinglikethat2176

A quick glance at a topographical map of the Sinai Peninsula shows it is almost impossible on the proposed line. The land is a kilometre high in places, and on average at least 200 to 250 meter high (above sea level). Sand stacks very bad at a high angle, so the canal would be extremely wide. The land around the Sues canal is just 30 meters above sea level, or below that. But as a Dutch person, I would say, go for it. We will help you do the digging, for a price.
What is that you think you have with this as a Dutch person. Do you also support ethnic cleansing, colonial imperialism, racism, and genocide as a Dutch person. Think! Use your conscious this time and stop these repeated cycles towards the Middle East, as a Dutch person.

If this is at all feasible, it's a fantastic idea. When you look at what the British did with their canals during the industrial revolution, it's just incredible, when you consider the means that they had. But if the economic returns are there, it's feasible to do it. The Turks are just building a second canal at the moment to give greater control over it with no previous agreements like the current one has. Very clever.

Note . look into
India-middle east - Europe Economic corridor / IMEC
It seems like a good idea to me.
As part of this new canal will pass through Gaza the part income when Gaza becomes an independent state will help it have income and be less dependent on foreign aid. It would also increase shipping capacity all round , but I cannot see Egypt being keen on the competition and loss of income.
If the the Gazans haven't already fled by then.
It would be easier for Egypt to just widen the Suez canal or build a second one.
So after watching through the whole video I am still wondering... what is the altitude profile of the proposed path? That's the key question.
use Google earth you can get elevations with the tools
Approximately fifty ships per day travel through the canal, about 12 percent of total global trade at the time. For much of its length, however, the canal is not wide enough to allow two ships to pass each other; convoys of ships must take turns transiting these segments of the waterway. The canal would have to be widened and deepened. The time it would take to do means that no ships/trade can pass along the route..... That is another reason to build a new canal. Which serves more than one purpose!!!

I am from India, it is an extremely good news for me.
Can you explain why you think this would benefit India?
Yes it's very important
Good 👍 Jai Israel Jai Bharat 🙏🙏🙏 om namah shivaya 🙏🙏🙏🚩
?????
And this is one of reasons that IRAN is attacking Israel. The extended canal system from one open sea throught to the other will be an incredible asset. The Iran army Hamas is attacking Israel because they want to do a land grab and take control of Israel/Palentine/Gaza to do exactly the same. Finish the canal and have absolute control of access and use.
I think it has more to do with the Saudi Arabia vs Israel treaty that was proposed by the US. Saudi Arabia wanted security assurances from the US and this would have made them the more powerful than Iran.
Muslim conquest of Israel was ~638, 1300+ years ago. steal isreal and for whites steal american ? as long give them a little money and land .lol
A land grab by secular Zionists was how Israel was created under the pretense it was the the Jewish homeland.
This video failed to mention that large gas and oil fields lie off the shores of Gaza. Now that the Nord pipeline has been destroyed in Ukraine this would enable Israel to supply Europes energy needs. This is why the Palestinians had be removed from Gaza. Zionists never wanted to share this wealth with the Palestinians.
Lol It's look like more of H*m*s and Israel's plan.🤣🤣
Are you in elementary school
Great idea!!
Would be very good to not be dependent on a single canal.Alternative route would be good for shipping and trade.
Totally favor it. The Suez is a very busy canal. More capacity is needed. However, the canal should be 20 meters deeper, not 10. The reason Everygreen got stuck was because of suction caused by a deep draft. You need a deeper canal to make sure that doesn't happen here and never will as ships get bigger and bigger, as they surely will. Think about the benefit of a cargo vessel capable of having two more layers of containers below decks. The Ben Gurion canal would be a major boost to international trade and Israel both. I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing the US providing 100% funding for it in exchange for fifty years of unlimited rights for passage of US military vessels that could otherwise be blocked from traversing the Suez. That would make the project much more palatable for Israel and its people, not having to pay for the project but reap all the benefits.
Suez is the proper place for any expansion. A sea level canal through elevated terrain is not going to work.
Egypt has been for sometime a major US partner, they are not being blocked at Suez, of course in exchange the US gives a lot of humanitarian and principally military aid to Egypt in exchange.
@@pedrorequio5515 Well, my point was just two routes instead of one.
In exchange for all the Palestinian lives. Just so the European white man can get more money
It's a palistenian imagined invention, nobody in Israel ever heard of this.
One issue with building near Gaza is it will give them the ability to shut down the canal with rocket attacks. Look at current situation with Houthis. Partnering with the right Countries could have tremendous benefit for Israel's security also.

And in the north we have a short part to dig to connect to the mediterranian sea. But jordany will loose territory and has to agree. Absolutely it is an overdue project, Regardless of the cost to Egypt who would need to increase the size of the Suez Canal 2 routes are always better than 1 for security reasons apart from financial ones
The effect that the Evergreen ship had would have been minimised... EDIT Commented this before I watched the video!!
the Palestinians will decide what happens to their land not the low life European colonialist war criminal settlers like you
@@user-wu6cw2zg3l The Evergreen was blocked for a reason. Apparently Russia had a ship on one side of the canal and the US had one on the other side because the Evergreen ship was carrying human cargo, especially children. Of course they don't talk about that on mainstream media.
No. A Suez Canal MK2 running parallel to the present canal is by far the cheapest upgrade. A canal through mountainous desert terrain is nonsense.@@user-wu6cw2zg3l

It will be a New Way to handñe geopolitical problems on the region
This will help alleviate the effect of rising sea level.
A joint Israel Saudi project makes sense and would allow the Saudis to assure Egypt they will be protected and still receive their share of shipping. The Saudis also have good engineers and financial backing. The new canal will only cost 5% of the cost of the new $1T Saudi super city in current planning. And, an Israel, Saudi, Egypt, Jordan alliance would be a good check to control the Iranian terror state.

@@ricardoxavier827 you think the dead sea is a depression that has just low level water ?
The whole land is 200m under sea level and there are beaches, if you tried this dump idea you'll end up flooding the close area without any gain . If it's to pass dead sea, they should rely on locks to make the ships go 400m down to the waters of dead sea
But how big tunnels will be needed to pass big ship? Will the tunnels work. But if it is made, it will be very useful and alternative to suez.
A tunnel for big ships is being built in Scandinavia. It looks to be huge.
It’s horrible that the war is going on because of this canal. Hearty people
This is another reason why China embarked on the New Silk Road (a.k.a. the Belt & Road initiative). Current shipping routes have 'choke' poiints...
I've seen variations on this before. This is definitely about bypassing the China Belt And Road Initiative. This section of the Initiative is a joint effort between Russia, Iran and China. It intends to bypass Western influence and countries that are friendly to Israel. Saudi Arabia is a crucial part of it because either the Western Belt or the China Belt must pass through SA. Much of the hostility right now in the middle east is not really about religion or about the Palestinian plight. It's about money. The Houthi's and Hamas started all of this at Iran's direction. It intends to cause so much conflict so that Saudi Arabia will side more with Iran. The Houthis can easily blow up Saudi oil infrastructure so this is a precarious moment for the region. The Abraham accords are meant to get Saudi Arabia on the side of the west. Israel was making good diplomatic progress with SA. So now all of this trouble places that in jeopardy. Iran is at the heart of it all. If you want to get a real feel for this, check out the Tom Nash Report here on YT. It's fascinating.
An excellent analysis.
Правильный вывод! Скинуть аятолл, уничтожить ЯО и связи с россией и китаем и все будет ок!
The fact that SA is Sunni and Iran is Shia means that their eternal conflict is baked in.
Iran, yes(!), and Russia (who are hand in glove with China). Russia want Western, particularly American, attention diverted from Ukraine.
Russia knows the West are largely united against it in Ukraine, but may splinter over Israel, where some European nations will baulk at the US's unwavering (well, not really with Biden as PotUS) support for Israel.
I think it will be a good idea.and has many positives.
Alternative routes are always welcome so that no single country should monopolize the International Shipping Routes.
