Actually this Paul Stanley's lockdown lesson made me practice guitar again. I've learned Hotter Than Hell the same way, by watching his vid. It's the ultimate "stone age hard rock" song.
A friend gave me this album in 1993. It sounded like it was recorded ages ago, which was one of the things I thought was so cool about it.
The outro riff is really cool too
Thank you! It was killing me trying to figure out what that second chord was. Now I've learned a new chord and I need to plug it into all the other songs I'm not sure about to see if it fits.
One of Paul's best riffs for sure!!!
Frickin awesome!I practice to KISS ALIVE every week and missed those little nuances myself!
Great video, Kiss fan here since 1976. I also watched when Paul did his video during quarantine playing this song. I was amazed at some of the little nuances he does to make this riff sound killer. Thanks for posting 😁👍
Thanks for checking it out, James! 🤘
Excellent post. Thank you for the lesson. You nailed it!
Top Notch! Well played and explained. It is indeed a killer riff .
Personally, I’ve toiled over this one a few times and settled for partially correct! I’ve found this entertaining as well as useful! Thank you!
Thank you Mr. Bowcott for this wonderful video !
Great Video.
I am so sick to hear people say Paul Stanley is only a show man. Thats Bullshit...
Paul is the sound of Kiss.
I saw many great Frontmen...i think Paul Stanley and Bruce Dickinson were the best i ever saw live.
MORE!! MORE!! MORE!! please. love these vids by Nick!!!
Very cool, thank you sir!
Yes, yes, yes... Finally someone did it well... That's the right way of playin the riff. Great job bro. Very useful and very entertaining
Thank you, Nick! And Merry Christmas!
Brilliant lesson!
Awesome thanks!
LOVE IT !!!
Very well researched and explained
Nick is the best!!
Finally someone plays it the way Paul does
That was sweet. Good I will learn it correctly from the start.
This video was like a spiritual awakening to me 😂 only the correct version brings up these chunky, punchy and riffing qualities to life .
Blood excellent!
Of course you play Paranoid on the 12th fret. If you are going to play something do it right. Excellent video again Nick.
Nice 👍 job thank you
Awesome video! Yup, I've been playing it wrong up until now.
Do more Kiss lessons like this to learn from
Best Kiss record ever.
Love the video!!! Not a criticism but having just watched Paul's video too I noticed he only plays the extended A chord straight after the Gsus2/A. When he plays the riff on the E and A strings he follows it with a 3 string A power chord. I watched very closely and I'm 154% sure
The first time I heard this song was in Kiss Meets The Phantom Of The Park #ripanddestroy
Hey Nick!!!! We met years back when I worked for G Lynch!!!! You're the best man!!!!
This is a great song to begin with, and you are correct as you know….I say Paul lifted the hammer-on D-G chord sequence straight from Keith Richards
Comment nicely.....hmmm. Great job as always Nick. Keep em coming and rock on good sir!
The A like the A in “All Right Now”. Makes sense. That D to G pattern is all over KISS’ songs. Makes sense.
Nice guitar lesson and the intro comedy😂
Great lesson thanks pal. Everytime I think how to play a riff, someone teaches me the propper way. Damn that finger stretching A chord, .... I am pretty sure the band had much longer fingers than I do :D
LL, your funny! nice video...!
Paul wrote alot of great songs and most of kiss`s riffs and hooks.
Good Job. Never bothered with this song, listened to it plenty. I'm quite good and you kept it short (and got it right). I've never posted a like ever until now.... FFFFFin' A.
nice
I could never figure out what that second chord was. Thank you!
I guess the reverse rake on the 2nd chord is just understood, but I always loved that texture and you can really tell it's missing if someone tries to cover this tune w/out that articulation.
Barvo - well done
Sweet! (water)
Thanks Nick! Love that song. Could you do Beating around the bush by AC/DC?

What's the signal chain , Nick?
Hi Jeff - the Slash Epiphone plugged straight into a Boss Katana Artist 100W combo on Crunch "amp type" with a smattering of the amp's onboard Plate Reverb.
@@nickbowcott8822 Thanks Nick! Was the combo mic'ed or was it direct?
DI'd from the amp's line out, amigo...one stop shop!
@@nickbowcott8822 Thank you Brother!
Paul ripped off "All Right Now" for this one. But he did it brilliantly. You can see how Paul plays it in the Winterland from their DVD box set.
And I'm sure Free got the idea from someone else and so on.
There hasn't been any "new" music written for MANY years.
There's only so many notes.
And only so many ways to arrange them.
I'd say Chopin,Beethoven and Chikovsky pretty much nailed that.🤭
Tip: get a digitech drop.
It's actually wrong because you're playing it in standard tuning. Kiss played down a half a step.
Tune down a half and this will not match the studio version. I think they either messed with the speed in production or tuned just to match the vocal.
Try singing it without tuning down, you better be damn good.
Only 5.1k views? Something is seriously wrong with this!
Now let’s get a Night of the Vampire play through….
u forgot the most important part of the riff: COME AWWNNN...!
Hey man your playing it all backwards :)
So, this wasn't a lesson at all. It was single chord....cool.
