  • In this video I demonstrate how to play 4 classic KISS riffs from the debut KISS album. We cover Black Diamond, Deuce, Fire House and Cold Gin. These are awesome riffs that are fun to play and immediately recognizable, Plus they appease the KISS army when they are at your gigs! Ace Frehley and Paul Stanley played some great parts together and are responsible for some of the coolest and most memorable classic rock riffs from the 70's. I hope you enjoy the video. @@samright4661 No doubt. But they were absolutely talking about him and giving him credit....40 years ago, when his and the bands likeness adorned the cover of every music themed magazines where we used to get all our daily dose of rock and roll info.
Countless articles were written about his contributions. "Underrated is overused these days is my point.. Believe me, as a GenX kid that grew up in the 70s, Paul Stanley got the credit that he definitely deserved 👍 The entire band were trailblazers that received due credit for their contributions.
Hit Parader, Circus, Creem, Karang, Guitar etc.. every month featured Kiss.
They were almost always on the covers with Ozzy, up until Metallica hit the main scenes.
We even had trading cards that sang Paul's praise lol. Which had the worst bubble gum ever in the package lol.

Awesome stuff! KISS gets written off but the created some timeless music. The counter rhythms that Paul & Ace played made everything sound huge! Gene’s playing back in the early days was more like Paul McCartney’s. He’d be independent of Ace, Paul & Peter. It was really unique.

I agree. With all the theatrics and flambouyant moves they make, you know as a guitar player it can be very distracting. But yet they sound incredible live. Their moves are all practiced and scripted. Thats what put them on a different level. They've been on my bucket list since 1974 to see. Unfortunately Paul got the flu just before they were supposed to play in Toronto last October 2023. Hope they continue. They're not finished yet. Even RUSH is going on tour again with a new drummer.

I think when they produced this song they used a capo and doubled it. On a 12 string. Capo 7th fret d minor shape/12 string doubled. I am just going by how it sounds and the tone of the strings. What strings sound like on the fretboard. I imagine Paul plays it different live since it's live and not the dramatic 12 string studio version. (Just assumptions here!). 😁

@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 I like the tune. It gets a lot of hate. But I think it's cool. It was certainly Paul's attempt to write something popular at the time.

Type in Noisey reupload. Ace Frehley guitar moves. And you will learn the correct way Kiss plays the song Deuce.

I would say they are one of the most underrated bands because so many people have always said they are a bunch of untalented guys that write bad songs when in fact they have had a lot of success and lasted 50 years.

    Black Diamond…is a nope.
Paul hardly ever plays above the 5th position. So Keep It Simple Stupid…
    Amin shape (A) open,
