The girl on the left is actually the best one to go with because of sequel plot points that happen if you pick her. Pogo won't fight you before joining in the last Chapter if she's with you, and she has alot of speed (and you're almost always going to use Pogo). Also as the party leader in the final chapter, she has unique dialogue among the three. Just keep in mind that in order to see the true ending, you have to have everyone in the party at least once in the final chapter (they don't have to be the leaders, they just have to join one time each).
Agreed, and if you ask most hardcore speedrunners and what not, they will argue that the hit and run power houses tend to be the best characters in Strategy RPG games.
Personally, I picked Yun joe for character development, going from a nobody theif, to a master, and eventually a hero.
Li/Lei = Fan favorite choice
Yun/Yuan = Storyline choice
Hong/Samo = Easter egg choice
Thank you! I was curious about if/how they might be different. I'm trying to learn some basic tips (without having too much spoiled) and this was perfect. Informative and straight to the point.
Lady : One of the fastest characters in the game, can attack multiple times before enemies move, low attack
Middle boy: Starts off the weakest but gets more stat bonuses per training battle than the other 2. At the end he will surpase both however has low HP and weak early moves
Big boy: Slowest character in the entire game even after increasing speed stats on day 2. Although so much HP and Deff he can tank most attacks with ease, also has some unique moves.
First time I played, I thought there would be at least one point where they all fought together, so I diversified who I trained with, focusing on Yun to get him up to speed with the other. Safe to say, I was surprised that that was not the case

Personally, I picked the lady character for no other reason than the fact she is the only female character that can show up in the finale. Also, if you pick her, Pogo joins you without a fight, in the final chapter.
His AoE and range ability that crosses whole field are really good. But i chose the woman cuz its who i trained the most with. She is ok... Has some range.
Picked the fat one because he’s the only fat character that can show up in the finale. ;)
