- I am soo excited to share this dumpster diving video with you! Alex and I were driving home from an auction house when we spotted some big boxes by an apartment dumpster. I'm so glad we stopped, because they were FULL of really nice women's clothing and kids clothes! After that I went diving by myself for a little while and cannot believe how lucky I was to meet two kind strangers who helped me load my truck bed up. Huge thank you to them for their generosity!

I find plastic shelves all the time when I go trash picking. Pick them up if you see them so you can start stacking and storing vertically and you'll see that you will have tons more space.

The furniture is a great find. Having designated spots in the garage will make everything SO MUCH EASIER when it comes to garage sales and listing items for sale.

Hairy Tornado uses filing cabinets (stackable) for small items that he sells. He has bins with letters & numbers and each item is given a location.. makes it so much easier to find.
We have the same issue in our garage. When you show your area you encourage or give hope to others. They realize they’re not alone. Love the dresser

Great video and I love the end spiderman...lol next time lay everything out and have a dollar yard sale. Pin 3 clothes together and sell for a buck. It be over fast...lol plus if you don't get steel shelves, we put in wood shelves and attached to the walls. We made the shelves from cutting a 4'×8' board in to two pieces. But we lucked out on some gray plastic shelves for the other wall. But good luck and we love watching you and your smile brings such sun shine in our lives. Thank you and bless you.💜

I am so glad you saved so much from the landfill! This is how I handle what I find in the trash. I separate items that are worth listing price wise. I then separate items for buy/sell/trade stores such as Once Upon a Child, Platos Closet and whatever one you have in your area for people older than teens. What they do not take goes into my yard sale. What does not sell at the yard sale is donated to a local charity. This is how I have supported myself for the last 30 years and raised my kids as a single parent and not on welfare by doing this. I even paid off my mortgage last year. I am telling you this because you can do it too! Don't get discouraged (some days are better than others) and keep moving on to the next one!
My father in law lived near major university and basically furnished all of his childrens’ starter homes with furniture and kitchen gadgets from move out days. Parents in the fall furnish their college kids dorms and apartments with new stuff only for it to wind up by the dumpster in June. He was retired and loved doing it and often the kids would help load come home with him and unload. My mother in law always had goodies and treated them. They were lovely people and treated everyone like their grandchildren.
I purchased some large metal/wire shelves and put doily wheels on them so they would be easy to move, especially to clean underneath.

I'm so glad you've decided to donate on the curb. So many people need help now and how thoughtful!! At first I thought that you could sell it but then realized some of it was stuff you couldn't sell. I used to have a yard sell 2x/year and people came especially since I live in NC and it's not as cold typically like Texas. You'd be surprised how people love to get out even when it's cooler in the fall. It's alot of work but don't sell yourself short. You still work hard finding and driving, using gas and time. Just my 2 cents!😊💙

I love your happy smile that lights up your videos. 😀 when you come across a piece of furniture that you can't fit at the moment, then take a cushion or drawer etc. Depending upon the piece. That way it will still be there when you come back for it. No one else will want to pick up a piece of furniture that is missing a part. I learned to do that after I bought a dresser at a garage sale, went for my husband and his truck only to return to pick it up and it had been sold to someone else who offered more money to her. Yes, she refunded my money but it didn't feel good to have it sold out from under me. But taught me to take a piece of it with me if I'm having to return for it..

Grrrrl, don’t even worry about that garage. I’m 55 and have never been able to park my car in the garage 😂 you’ll get it setup the way you want it. Love your finds. Yayyy! Awesome score! Woop woop! So happy for you. So here is an idea until you find your metal shelves...I saw this on pinterest I think. Set up the file cabinets about 3 to 4 feet apart and then place a long wood board over the filing cabinets. And voila you have a shelf. I'll email you a picture.

I had the same experience with a long, black dresser that I needed so badly for my office, and I happened to be en route grocery shopping when I passed a house a few streets up from mine, where a couple was setting things out on the curb . I saw the dresser, but had to get to the store. I made the trip quickly, and the dresser was still on the curb! I asked the couple if the dresser was available for the taking, and the couple affirmed it was cleaning the house out for sale. Unfortunately, I do not have a truck; I do have a three-wheeled dolly which worked perfectly! So, the gentleman helped me load it, and it was fun re-arranging my office to put the dresser in it! It holds my printer and office supplies! I love it when things come at the right time!

Hi Kelly....Its great to give to thrift stores because the money they make goes to help community programs like Domestic violence shelters and shelters for homeless teens. I don't know if you have programs like that in Denton or surrounding areas but we have quite a few in Southwest Florida. Your curb is good too but you need to be very careful about people finding out Who You guys are. I know you do not want to encourage breaking. I loved this video and enjoy seeing you so happy! You are so much fun to watch! Heads up.....if there is a large piece that won't fit, and you are coming back for it, grab the cushions. Pretty much guaranteed it will still be there when you come back. I have done that with dressers. I take the drawers and then come back for the base.

You should consider keeping any cords you see which have copper. Cut off anything and dave them up and take to scrap yard for cash
