Hey y’all and welcome back! I talk a little about this at the end of the video, but we have loved collecting ephemera (vintage photographs, ticket stubs, postcards, etc.) from our dumpster dives over the years and decided to start a newsletter to be able to share it better with you all! If you want to sign up, head here - www.breafkast.com - the first email will be sent in February. Thanks so much for watching and we can’t wait to see you again soon for more dumpster adventures! Happy Friday xo
I have the same one. Fill the tank with water in the back then lift and close the lid in the front. It should turn on automatically and just press the big K button. I'll go right after that. No need for a k-cup.😊
@Breafkast ,You can buy reusable pods to use your own coffee for only a few dollars. Run some white vinegar through it full strength several, times and then some water. Mine is quirky and sometimes I need to unplug to clear a glitch then lift up and back down and press button with a cup under and it's fine.
Signed up thankyou that be very interesting as I live in UK and it's against the law here to dumpster dive if you get caught it's big trouble because of the law on England in a effect you are stealing if you are dumpster removers it's classed not stealing because they taking dumpster to be emptied . If you go in it on. Some ones land where dumpster is it's classed as stealing like shops supermarkets places Iike that all food is sold off on cheap counter or goes out places to help people out for free simpler to your pantry idear in America.
I think he was mostly staying out of the camera/scenes to give Kelly the limelight. Not because he's shy about diving. They have said before that they had lots of experience dumpster diving together when they lived in their van and traveled through california a long time ago.
Kelly, you have to fill the water reservoir before you try to test it. It won’t turn on if it’s empty. Once you fill it you can just run it with water to make tea or hot chocolate. You don’t need always need pods.
Hi guys!! 😊 I would LOVE to see more about how you repurpose items that you find. Try putting water in the Keurig. You can run water through without a K-cup. Also, those can be cleaned by running white vinegar through them. Sometimes they get gunked up from mineral deposits in the water and people just throw them out. Running vinegar through them a few times, then clean water can make them work like new again!!
The small table would have been an easy fix if it was only the one wobbly leg (Glue & Screw), a quick sand and a new coat of whatever you like. Tht rocking chair was an antique, I would have had to save it, clean it upand reupholster the seat - leaving the springs in it and sand and recoat the wood. But then, I have a fair bit of spare time 🙂
You can buy the forever filters and just put your own coffee grounds in them You have to put water in it to test if it’ll work by hitting the start button and you can run it with just hot water
@@UsernameUnkwn21 i’m hysterically cracking up over “podcast” But no, I run my Keurig without a item in it just so hot water will flush through and clean it weekly
Just thought I'd say, you may already know, prescription glasses can be donated to the Lions Club, often drop off at any ophthalmologist or optician's office. They can be re-used for people in need. Thanks for all you do to keep items out of the landfill
Water Kelly...water! Put water in and see if it heats. Put a cup in front to catch the water.I am on the rocking chair crying crew. It was sound and could have been a jewel in the right hands.
You can get the refillable plastic Keurig cups and use any coffee you want in them. You also don't need to use a Keurig cup you can use it to dispense hot water for noodle cups
I just have to encourage you to take more of the furniture. You don’t want it but I guarantee you someone will and you keep large items out of the landfill. Love y’all!♥️
Got7 is a k-pop group, and some of those items you found (member cards, stickers, etc.) can resell for good money! Might be worth researching! Great find!
1. The rocking chair only had one rocker, not two. So for everyone who wanted them to take it, it was not salvageable as a rocker. 2.The tail was a bit creepy. Furry? 3. I love dumpster ephemera and would love to see more. 4. As a fellow diver, one of my favorite things to do is rescue and repurpose items. I regularly find slashed clothes at Old Navy. I've repurposed so many of them- either sewing them into new clothes or embroidering where they were slashed to highlight the imperfection with a new design.
I was thinking that the chair would be great for Halloween decor. since it looked so creepy and had the broken rocker. I have even seen people rig a small motor to them, so that they rock on their own.
oh that rocker would make a great outdoor planter remove the springs or leave it and add large pot - I loved my one cup maker they have Kcups you put your coffee in you don't have to buy the throw aways. love what you do looking forward to seeing your finds.
Kuerig comes with its own kcup, and you can put a tea bag in it and make a cup of tea. I make tea in mine all of the time. If you don't have the extra cup holder, you can purchase one. Put some water in the tank and press the power button.
I love finding old things that people have made in the past (sewing, art, baskets, and anything handmade) I feel like I have to save it! Thanks for what you do and thanks for the inspiration to dumpster dive and put them on video! Stay Safe
That’s a presidential collectible! My fiancé’s mom worked in the White House, and he mentioned that your memorabilia may be sought after by collectors. Congrats!
Today I flipped two cast iron, bistro chairs from the condo dumpster across from my house. I did paint them, but they were in very good condition I flipped them for $50.
If you still have it. Clean it up, and put water in the reservoir. Then hit the button to brew. If it works it will heat up water for you without the k cup. You can also buy a reusable kcup filter for your own coffee, tea, cocoa.
I am sure someone has already mentioned putting water in the back, place a cup under the pod holder. Push the start button to see if it works. It won't work without water. Every Keurig I have ever had will work without a pod, but not without water. As always I love watching you guys. Great job!
As far as the Keurig being wasteful..you can actually purchase a little basket that fits in the pod slot and you can use coffee grounds to make coffee instead of using the pods. (In case you find one that works).
Welcome back! I've been missing your always fantastic Dumpster Diving adventures! I admire you both. Your awesome team work. Your positive attitude. Your always finding good treasures for others or you can use. Your thoughtfulness in caring to dive into dumpsters. Saving perfectly all kinds good things. Saving it from the land fill. Hope your able to share more of your adventures soon. Been missing you both and Bones too. Thank you! ❤🎉❤
You guys should start collecting the aluminum cans. It wouldn't take much extra time and you could do a little recycling. Make a couple bucks and still feel good about the more uneventful dumpsters.
Have you ever considered doing Junk Journaling out of some of your vintage finds. They have some awesome ideas here on RUclips. You can use those charms and all kinds of stuff to make them. My niece is into making them and has introduced me to them.
Yes. I would really love to see you refurbish that basketball backboard with your new projector. That would be a really cool project to see you do step by step. Starting with taking off the hoops with tools that you might have found. Please point out during the whole video all the items you found that you are using or fixing during all the steps.
The Kerig I believe that you have put water and a k cup before it will work. Looks new to me, Alex probably put the scratches on it stabbing the box to get it out of the dumpster...Just sayin'...By the way I love watching you two.
The video where you found the Flat Stanley is how I found your channel, and I'm so glad I did! I searched RUclips for curb alert videos. You opened my world to dumpster diving! ♥️

People at Ren. Faires use those animal tails. I’m so happy you’re going to start doing upcycles!!! As you know you can learn anything you need to know how to do on the internet . Happy upcycling♥️
I wouldn't throw it away until you try it with a K cup. They make a plain K cup that allows you to use your own coffee. They sell them at Walmart and Target. The big button you were pushing is the brew button, so it may need a K cup and a mug on it to work. Just thinking. Good luck!! Love your videos!
Kelly, I have a little cup made out of rubber the size of a Keurig cup and you fill your own cup full. If you want it strong halfway if you want it mild mine came from Walmart I’m sure any Walmart target or Publix all have them.
Hello Everyone! I found a beautiful rug for my LR; washed up well. A laundry basket that I turned into a nice recyclable bin. Your finds are always great for your next yard sale! It would cost a lot to refurbish that rocking chair for sure. But if someone has the materials and skills; it's really a lovely chair. I felt your pain Alex when wrestling with that bag; I have bruises near my rib cage when I fight the good fight with dumpster bags! 🤣
Appreciate that you guys make an effort in donsting to the right places such as that small thrift store that helps families. Otherwise, the big chain thrift stores have just become grifters.

I've been following your channel for a couple of years and y'all are still my favorite dumpster divers! And you inspired me to dumpster dive. I've found new clothes with tags, a whole bunch of baby clothes in great condition, stuff I wash and donate. I've gotten things for myself- 2 great quality fleece blankets, a beautiful lamp, 2 plastic Adirondack chairs, etc. It's amazing how much stuff people throw away rather than taking the time to drop off to places like Goodwill.
We had the same thing happen to us with a microwave. It was donated to us when we lost our home to fire in 2019. It looked brand new, in the packaging in the box. We never opened it. We gave it to our niece and when she opened it, it was filthy. Like someone had heated up food that explored all over the inside. That basketball hoops is pretty cool. I would love to see how Alex fixes it. 😊❤
Kelly and Alex. I would love to see videos of your projects you do with your finds. Actually any video you put out I would watch. You are such a great couple. So friendly and easy going. Take care, stay safe and God bless.

That's a cool coffee table! I found one just like it except its a darker color and it serves us well!
@breafkast Please do a follow up on the cute Keurig after reading all the comments. They make reusable cups, can use with tea or just hot water.
