Thank you for an excellent video, Tony! There is actually one rule on doubling. Avoid doubling tendency tones.

Thanks Tony for answering my question about note doubling, also Cious Li was very kind to help me. No doubling of help in this case, the more the better!

Those whole tone modulations with the minor6 to a half-diminished actually sound really beautiful

Very timely. I just finished practicing these in Eb and E just now for the night, with close voicings. I'm practicing them all keys this week. Last night I did Bb, F, C, and G. I have open voicing for major 2-5-1 and was missing instruction on open voicing minor. I'll bookmark this and study it when I get through all the keys. Just one question about terms though: why use the term "minor 2-5-1, versus vii-iii-vi? Thanks!

I went to your patron link, but way to involved for an old fart like me. Just wanted to send you $20 buck today in appreciation for this lesson on minor 2-5-1’s. Do you have an email I can Paypal?
    Thanks Bruce

Is this for people who can't read music? I don't understand why he just doesn't just show the notes on sheet music while playing. ??? To those that think reading music is hard.....it isn't. Just learn a few notes every day. In a few weeks you'll be fine reading music.

Because sight reading is an awful way to learn jazz…? Most people are here trying to improve their theoretical understanding not practice muscle memory. Also you’re basically asking him to do it in 12 keys since if the concept of chord tones is too difficult you probably aren’t going to be able to transpose the information - sheet music or no.
