- I have wanted a knee length denim skirt since forever. I finally decided to break down and make me one. All you need is a pair of jeans, thread, scissors, and a sewing machine. Oh! And this video. ;)

Hey! I wear skirts all the time and when Ive made skirts to short before you can just get some of your scrap denim and add a ruffle around the bottom, which makes it super cute! Or you can add some lace to it, just some ideas. ☺️
Loved it....this might be my answer to getting some new clothing and getting some jeans at thrift stores. I been wanting to switch over to skirts but could never find any I liked or if I did they don't fit. Thanks for sharing this how-to video! 😆

you done a very well job at this. I used to do that with pants that was ugly as pants but made beautiful skirts too. back then patches was in style on pants too. it was in the 1970's however others couldn't figure out where I was buying my clothes..nope I never told them..lol. You did a wonderful job at modeling it too.

I just did this project, and it took about 4 pinning and trying on to get the “bubble” from the insert seams. They looked ok when laying flat, but when I put on they stood out a little. The fix was in getting the crotch line crossover just so.
I watched your video today on how to make a skirt from a pair of jeans, and you wished it was a little longer when you were finished with it, i was wondering couldn't you add some cute material or lace or denim with lace over top of the denim added to them bottom of the skirt to give it a little more length. And it would also be cute and add more interest to it. Was just thinking and a suggestion. I'm modest also and don't like anything to short on my either. I appreciate your values, I'm a Christian too. And I like watching you and The Fundametal Home (I think that is the name of her channel-you and her are friends ya'll have been on each others channels). Thank you for having a clean channel. I use to have a HUGE passion for fashion, in highschool and up into my early 20's (i'm 39 now) i made tons of my own clothes and use to spend from the time i got home from school/work till morning where i was falling asleep at my sewing machine LOL.

I too agree, it is hitting at the knee. Great job Tangi. :) If you still want it longer, you can add a strip of fabric to the bottom or even lace. We are only limited by our imagination.
Tangi The Cavers Wife I have one and I love it. Whenever I want add length to a "questionable" dress I wear my slip with the lace showing. Love it.

Great video. I have wanted to do this for years. In worry about sewing through that think denim seam but being in quarantine I think now is a good time. I love denim skirts because you don’t need a slip. Can’t see through them. And they are great in the cold winters in NY with stretch pants/leggings. Thanks.
Yes! They are like wearing blankets over your legs when it's cold. I could live in denim skirts.
I disagree you made it hit just at the knee. It's perfect. Paired with tights and boots, you'll rock it and still be modest.

Add a 3 inch band to the bottom edge of your skirt. That would give you the added length you desire. Great job on the skirt just as it is.

I have seen ladies add lace trim to lengthen a hemline. It would look nice on this one, and you could coordinate with boot sock cuff color and t-shirt color.

I was surprised when you cut off the jeans at the beginning. To make the length what you want, wait to cut the legs until you are farther along, and try the skirt on at that point.

Rhonda Bowdy If I want a long denim skirt I use 2 pairs of pants and dont cut the legs. Use your other pair of pants for the insert panels. ☺️

Your skirt turned out great but if you would like it longer, try adding a denim ruffle.
I too want to refashion pants into skirt and yes a modest length for church activities but I don't want the saddle overlap I want straight seam down. I am not a current seamstress lol but I could in early life
yes seen videos here. but it becomes more a pencil skirt and I do not have the Kardashian figure to pull it off hehehe. seems simple enough to cut the > out front and back then resew thinking now goal is to use too big of pants so when taken in its not so tight??? suggestions anybody? ?

another question have you done a circle skirt where you simply cut the waist, add waistband and elastic. it doesn't need seams done
