The video kind of went back and forth in real time, but overall, I think I preferred the P7 Pro's video output here. Something else I noticed is that Samsung will boost those reds quite a bit. Sometimes it is more pleasing. Sometimes it's eye searingly blown out.
for years with my s8+ I've always had to desaturate the reds in my photos and videos because Samsung just makes reds too red, I like google's more natural approach.

I have one Samsung S20+, bought 2.5yrs back. The amount of display problems I've on this phone, that now I'm buying a new phone, eventhough the phone still works. There is Screen burning issue. Then suddenly after OS 12 upgrade my screen started showing one pink line. Which gradually increased to 5 more lines of different colors. Show I've a rainbow on my display , eventhough my phone didn't drop. You can google it. Samsung gets lots of display issues with OS upgrades. I guess I'll try pixel now. This will be my last feat with Android. If I'm disappointed with Pixel. Then I'm stratight going for iphone next.
I pre-booked the s23ultra, but i hate the fact that the front camera has very very bad dynamic range. Basically, it looks cropped, and we can't even fit 1 person properly, WTF????????
You are wrong, Dynamic range was good on both. Just that s23 putting more vibrant colours while pixel 7 pro more natural looking photos. Also quite often s23 put more sharpen photos which is not always good. Pixel 7 pro was consistent with colours and dynamic range. Only downside if I had to pick was video performance slightly lacking compared to s23.
both phone had pros and cons and sometimes the pixel over saturated even the samsung also the same . its all based on situation during the photo was taken .
in My opinion the better choice is getting the Samsung s23 and set the google camera in it , so that with the google camera you take better photo and with the samsung camera the best video quality
For video recording from front camera I prefer color from Pixel but for back main camera I prefer color from S23, its look more natural to my eyes, btw for pictures most of them I still prefer Pixel camera because its look more natural and the contrasty look on Pixel camera, but its doesn't mean the picture taken from S23 are, they still good, I just prefer color from Pixel only, overall both phone have really good camera, thanks for the video comparison 👍
I suspect the Samsung is a little better, which is to say the Pixel was a little bit too contrasty and slightly oversharpened, which at first I preferred. The Samsung looked smooth and more movie-esque, to me. The colour science of the Samsung looked a bit off but then in a couple of scenes the Pixel seemed to have a blue tint. I'm guessing that a few minutes spent in post, you could make the footage of both look close to identical. I wonder if any updates have improved either, since this video is a year old. Really appreciate the time and effort, and thank you for sharing the beautiful location.
Pixel for the camera win overall, but I prefer Samsung One UI over stock android any day. If this was the 22 ultra or 23 ultra I would choose those cameras for sure.

Since I'm under ACP, I need to go to AT&T because only Metro covers it if I want to stay under the T-Mobile umbrella. But I hear Metro can have your sim locked to your IMEI and I hate that. That's why I will never buy another iPhone after the 13s thanks to this esim only nonsense here in the States because I can travel a lot, my native country is mostly prepaid, and I do change from different phones a lot. I carry 2 through 5 phones daily. My guess is Samsung won't copy Apple with esim only until next year at earliest. This is why the S23 series intrigues me. I'm not dying to get any of them. It's another damn phone. A giant, boring slab one at that. The excitement getting a new "toy" wore off many years ago. Honeymoon phase. Love it. Get bored with it. Buy another. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. The main reason why the S23 Ultra is intriguing: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. From battery tests coming from the Red Magic 8 Pro, it seems Qualcomm might have their best chip since the 835/845 days. The 888 and 8 Gen 1 were very problematic. You also need to understand SoCs won't always be efficient every year like it wasn't in 2015, 2021, and early-2022. Qualcomm doesn't always get it right every year once they speed things up. Who knows if Snap 8 Gen 3 sucks? It happens regardless if they use TSMC foundries. The most efficient Snapdragon flagship SoCs I've seen were 800, 801, and 835. Snap 8+ Gen 1 and Gen 2 are returning to those years in 2013, 2014, and 2017. Android will only get worse with 14 as Google will make it harder to sideload apps. S23U comes with 13 out of the box. Android 13 already made it impossible to downgrade to the previous firmware. Google is becoming more like Apple every day which isn't exactly a good thing. The openness of Android is starting to fade and becoming more restrictive like iOS. S23 Ultra should still be the battery king for Samsung since I expect the Fold 5 and Flip 5 will come with smaller batteries like they did previous years. Fold 5 still has to power a bigger internal display and Flip 5 has close to the same screen size as the Ultras but Flip 4 only came with 3700 mAh and not 5000 that the S22U and S23U have. So if you want the S-Pen slot (we still don't know if Fold 5 gets it), periscope lens, and the most efficient Samsung flagship, it's really the S23 Ultra. The S23+ might be more efficient but S23U just seems more premium and feature-packed. Not many techtubers are mentioning this and instead are saying Samsung is offering terrible trade-in deals this year which is true. But a carrier like AT&T is offering $1000 bill credits if you trade-in any Samsung Galaxy S phone in any condition. It includes other brands like any old Pixel if you want $1000 off. Yes, you're stuck with them for 3 years unless you do $6 Next Up every month to be eligible for a new phone after every 18 months. But you're getting $1000 off by trading in your broken Galaxy S3, Pixel 2, or whatever. Check the eligibility of old phones you can trade in on their site. $200 S23 Ultra (I want 12 GB RAM) $75 minimum contract per month for 3 yrs I'll get a $30 discount under ACP and $15 with autopay. My monthly bill should be around $35-$40 per month. The 512 GB being offered has 12 GB RAM by default. I'm really considering it. Yeah, it's a boring and heavy slab. I still think S21U looked the best from the back and prefer the rounder edges. But I'm sick and tired charging my Flip 3, Razr 5G, iPhone X, and Pixel 3 every single day. Only my SE 3 gives me good battery life and standby. The Flip 5 will be great with a bigger cover display and the same custom Snap 8 Gen 2 but its size and form factor will always limit its battery capacity to less than 5000 mAh the S23U has. From other battery tests, I think iPhone 14 Pro Max still beats S23 Ultra by a considerable margin while having a smaller battery nearly 700 mAh less. A16 is still the more efficient chip and iOS is more efficient than Android especially with RAM. I'm very frugal how I use my phones. I'll probably turn off 120 Hz and 5G to extend it to 20+ hour SOT if I can get 13+ hours easily on my iPhone SE 3 from Wi-Fi browsing. S23 Ultra is the one, folks. Don't bother with Pixel 7 Pro or 8 Pro. Samsung's Exynos chip is just not as efficient as TSMC Snapdragons. And less compatibility with emulators. Resale value on all Pixels is piss poor. I wonder if my guy, Michael Fisher, will ever get bored with foldables and go back using a boring slab? I use both since purchasing a few used iPhones and it's really not difficult going back to a slab. Maybe this is the year to go back to it if you want the longest battery life from a Samsung phone with DEX support and don't want to deal with a crease while using an S-Pen?
Most sharper on the galaxy , that might be overstating it mate , and some pics both had noise at times but more appeared to be noisey on the galaxy imo.
During the presentation I thought it was a failure for s23 but now I'm genuinely Impressed S23 has better video and daytime pictures, waiting for s23 ultra comparison
Too each his own , I actually thought 7 out of 10 across the board except for night video the pixel absolutely took the win , and I don’t even like pixels. Both where quiet good for smartphones, but I won’t be selling my DSLR though.

In 6:34 you say that Samsung has better dynamic range, but actually it has visible clipping around the horizon, i think that it also crushes more the shadows of the bench,
6:16 pixel pro has more of the photo in focus. From this photo you can see more of the flowers in focus. s23 here seems to have a single flower in focus and everything else is blurry. I hardly ever see tech reviewers take flower photos, good job.
Wait a minute, I get all the other ones but in potrait pixel won? Brother, pixel digitaly zooms into the subject and takes the picture for potrait shots. Samsung uses the telephoto to do that. Yes, Samsung does smoothen up the skin, but its manageable. Pixel just overs sharpens it. It is the same story in every reviewer's pov. And turn of the blur amount in the samsung to 2 or 3. Not 6. You'll get far better results.
@@RedskullPro I know, there is smoothing effect. It’s is S22 too, which I use, for about 10 months, as a daily driver! So I do know the Samsung way. And I'm totally agreeing with you, that there is skin smoothening. Its in my phone, and looks like it's the same in S23 too. But what I suggested that at least it looks more natural as opposed to the pixel, because pixel just digitally zooms in and take the photo. And do post processing and sharpening with the subject. That's why it's looks a little unnatural that S23. And the blur on S23 is very much high. It's weird to look at. That's why I suggested to keep the blur at 2 or 3, and not 6. Better photo may come out. Also, one thing I forgot to say, the dynamic range. It's more consistent in pixel I think, in potraits. Even in my S22, in potraits, the Dynamic range is good, but sometimes it isn’t consistent. Here I think the same story is reflected. You are a good reviewer brother, and the points you've said was valid. But I was just surprised that you chose pixel. For me that one was more un natural. Even to Samsung too is not that much better
yep but, samsung have almost 50% stronger and 30% efficient chip for the same prize, also have by far better display.. i think no comparison here!! samsung destroy all this year...

@@SirMorak design is subjective, cpu is faster yes but not the OS is not as fluid, the s23 which he comparing in video only support 25w and plus/ultra support 45w.(which still is ultra slow if you compare to other companies) As someone that who don't own a pixel or samsung this was probably the most biased take ever.
Pixel is a terrible option.
Terrible videography
Underwhelming night shots
Weaker cpu and chip set
Super ugly design in the history of smartphones..
Cheaper build
@@SirMorak ridiculous comment
As always great video and beautiful locations! Where did you record that? Malaga or Granada?
Tbh, unless you are entering a phone photography competition and end up with the exact composition as another competitor, either phone is good enough for day to day shots. No one can tell the difference if you didn't put up a side to side comparison of the exact same photo
Awesome video, very nice comparison video! Thanks for your efforts!
Thank you very much!
Great comparison! I've been waiting for one of these two phones! 👌 By the way - I would absolutely love to visit that sea side castle one day - where is that located? That city looks amazing! 😲
Thanks for this! I saw another video mentioning just using the telephoto lens for portraits on the Pixel 7 pro gives fantastic portraits!
Thanks for sharing
The video kind of went back and forth in real time, but overall, I think I preferred the P7 Pro's video output here. Something else I noticed is that Samsung will boost those reds quite a bit. Sometimes it is more pleasing. Sometimes it's eye searingly blown out.
Thanks for checking out the video!
for years with my s8+ I've always had to desaturate the reds in my photos and videos because Samsung just makes reds too red, I like google's more natural approach.
Good test. It was a pleasure to watch.
S23 stabilization glides like butter...

I know the region perfectly. I am originally from Málaga and I come regularly to Torre del Mar, not far from Salobreña. A perfect place to live, no doubt. I currently live in the north of France, not the same story regarding the weather 😅
Thank you again for your videos, always instructive and in constant progress. I'm waiting for the battery life tests to find out if I'm replacing my Pixel 7 Pro with one of the new Samsungs.
Awesome content. Will you do s23 vs p6 pro?
I love your accent btw
They both seem to switch ..in video and pictures..in terms of high contrast and natural colours..

can s23/+/u call block unknown numbers automatically? i have a setting on oppo that blocks unknown numbers.. very helpful against marketers/scammers who spam call you daily..
I like shots from both phones. I'd take pixel 7 pro as I like more of it's shots and its a 2022 phone competing with it a s23.
Great video. Can you please make a comparison video for android flagship and iphone when taking a sunset or sunrise video?
Good suggestion!
I guarantee that the pixel will have smoother software. I'm waiting for my s23 ultra but I'll be keeping my 7 pro. Superb phone

Thank you, this was very helpful. You did a great Job. Both devices have pros and cons. Perfect location for testing them.

Do s23 ultra vs iphone 14 pro
I didn’t buy the ultra… but here is the comparison between the s23 and iPhone 14 pro: ruclips.net/video/R6yg--Lvldc/видео.html
Great video!!....Can you make a video of Google pixel 6a vs Poco X5 pro pls?
I pre-booked the s23ultra, but i hate the fact that the front camera has very very bad dynamic range. Basically, it looks cropped, and we can't even fit 1 person properly, WTF????????
Battery life on the s23?
You are wrong, Dynamic range was good on both. Just that s23 putting more vibrant colours while pixel 7 pro more natural looking photos. Also quite often s23 put more sharpen photos which is not always good. Pixel 7 pro was consistent with colours and dynamic range. Only downside if I had to pick was video performance slightly lacking compared to s23.
Cool
both phone had pros and cons and sometimes the pixel over saturated even the samsung also the same . its all based on situation during the photo was taken .
wish this was a blind test
in My opinion the better choice is getting the Samsung s23 and set the google camera in it , so that with the google camera you take better photo and with the samsung camera the best video quality

How does the haptic compare to something like the pixel 7 pro ?
U should mention which is showing Natural exact colour eye vs camera 📸
For video recording from front camera I prefer color from Pixel but for back main camera I prefer color from S23, its look more natural to my eyes, btw for pictures most of them I still prefer Pixel camera because its look more natural and the contrasty look on Pixel camera, but its doesn't mean the picture taken from S23 are, they still good, I just prefer color from Pixel only, overall both phone have really good camera, thanks for the video comparison 👍
i concur! colors aside, i noticed the zoomed shots were better on the Pixel 7 Pro while the ultra wide shots were better on the S23
They are both very good, but i prefer the pixel......
Wow s23 video stabilization is amazing

I noticed that the color are bad on pixel, what you guys think should i buy it on 2024?
Pixel for the camera win overall, but I prefer Samsung One UI over stock android any day. If this was the 22 ultra or 23 ultra I would choose those cameras for sure.
what do you prefer about one ui ?

I have everything turned off 🤷♂️
Prefer the pixel cameras….but prefer the S23 size.
Hello,
Sometime you could say to use which picture are more close to the reality where you it was recorded. You were there, not us. Foe example I am looking for a telephone which's photo is the closest to the real world and making a lot of filter.
Anyway amazing job, thank you very much
Noted! Thanks for checking out the video!
Makes me glad I went with the Pixel 7 Pro. The camera on this thing blows away the S23.
$200 S23 Ultra (I want 12 GB RAM)
$75 minimum contract per month for 3 yrs
I'll get a $30 discount under ACP and $15 with autopay.
Where is the place are you shoot this video?
Salobreña, Granada, Spain
@@RedskullPro thanks a lot sir
Why do you have the pixel pro going against s23 instead of the s23ultra?
Because they are the same price, the s23 and pixel 7 pro
i really want to visit this town... that's the main thing i got from this video other than both phones do well with video.
I prefer the colour accuracy on the pixel 7 pro but the most of the photos does look sharper on the galaxy s23
Most sharper on the galaxy , that might be overstating it mate , and some pics both had noise at times but more appeared to be noisey on the galaxy imo.
The colour more accurate on pixel? Nah the colour more bluish tint 1:38
S23 has better color
Please S23 vs the monster Huawei Mate 50 PRO
From my photography perspective Pixel Pro is a Keeper!
During the presentation I thought it was a failure for s23 but now I'm genuinely Impressed
S23 has better video and daytime pictures, waiting for s23 ultra comparison
Too each his own , I actually thought 7 out of 10 across the board except for night video the pixel absolutely took the win , and I don’t even like pixels.
Both where quiet good for smartphones, but I won’t be selling my DSLR though.
@@mikldude9376 you are clearly blind.
S23 did better in all departments. 7pro is an overrated phone
Lol.. this is showing how blinded people are by brand. I've been using galaxy since S1, and its obviously pixel is bettere here.
@@Wyald the only blind person here is you.
S23 was better in every scenario. Plus it's a much better chipset, better cooling, better battery, better gaming, better videos, better design, better zoom, better versatility in cameras, 8k video, pro video, pro camera, expert raw,
You need to really open up your mind boomer. Try different camera sensors on your phone
@@Wyald better for what here? For photos? Yeah some of them. But S23 videos way better than the Pixel 7 Pro here. So, you are the blind one then. You can see how stabilize and smooth the S23 video compare to the Pixe 7 Pro. Don't be mad dude, just accept the fact.
What about portrait video?
I just can’t take that skin smoothing effect :) but you have the pictures side by side to make up your own opinion
Even to Samsung too is not that much better
new to the channel... beautiful location..where is this bbtw?

yep but, samsung have almost 50% stronger and 30% efficient chip for the same prize, also have by far better display.. i think no comparison here!! samsung destroy all this year...
