      and if I may ask another question, what if the wobble on the arms come from the area of locking (one that stick to the back rest), is it servicable with parts?

    • @CrandallOfficeFurniture
      @CrandallOfficeFurniture  Год назад

      It is, we have our way of making those tighter. The issues is that over time the space in those adjustments increase so an extra wave washer is added to secure the arms in place better.

    I noticed no smaller A sizes. I had the B & it was bigger then I needed for desk area. Also, if I get as is, is the aluminium finish underneath decent enough to be polished like the new models option? Are any of the seat components interchangeable for the Mineral brighter colour or can it just be upholstery painted? I have a damaged 1997 classic. Only issues was arm adjust didn't hold so long, gently slipped over time of leaning on them.

      They apply spray paint!? I would like to know how to get such spray paint aerosol cans for less then 60€.. the offers here are insanely expensive compared to the aerosol can in usa ...ppg graphite texture...or rustoleum gun metal grey metallic matte..should be both available in the usa..the ones specially for aeron chairs are relabled of the ones mentioned above..just for about double or more of the price..

    • @sineast
      @sineast Год назад

      @Sebastian Alexander If Im not mistaken they use spray for the metal parts as shown in the video. A heat gun could be a solution for the plastic scratches, not sure though.
      Google "aeron spray paint", they are cheaper than 60EUR.

    • @sebastianalexander5564
      @sebastianalexander5564 Год назад

      @@sineast the heatgun approach could be an option. I wonder if you have experince in the refurb process with that approach allready. Since the paint is going all through and its mainly the surface beeing scratched, a heatgun at the right temperature, with the mesh removed, could melt that in on the seat frame and create a more even surface like before..makes sense.. The paint is avalaible for less then 60€..though not in europe as far as i have searched for it. I welcome any hint towards a store or producer of such spray that is also avaliable in europe..so far the ppg graphite texture nor the rustoleum gun metal grey metallic matte have been found in europe online in my case..

    • @vidworxsfx
      @vidworxsfx Год назад +1

      @neccros007 Not sure if you got it removed? if not try the following, when that happens on an old aeron classic it can be very difficult to get the insert off of the bolt, remove the seat pivot bushing assembly from the frame the old ones have a snap ring you need the correct tool for that, after you remove that 2 piece plastic assembly the bolt with the fused steel insert will come out attached to a machined ball take that and soak with 3 in One penetrating oil not the regular 3 in One or try liquid wrench if the insert is really on there for a long time let it soak for a day then clamp the insert part into a vice and use a 6mm socket type Allen wrench to try and free it, if it doesn't come free add more penetrate let it sit and try again it should eventually com free. This way will not damage the parts and you can then reuse the bolt and bushing with a new seat pan.

    • @neccros007
      @neccros007 Год назад

      @@vidworxsfx Yeah never got it removed.... Been sitting on it broken for months and need to do a full refurb on it but have been dealing with some physical issues so haven't gotten to it.

    • @vidworxsfx
      @vidworxsfx Год назад +1

      @@neccros007 Ah ok then maybe my solution will work for you, if it does please post back. Note: the very old aerons use this 5 piece pivot bushing assembly. HM changed this in newer models, my guess is you have one of the old ones as these are known to freeze to the insert and then pull right out of the seat pan, then the nightmare begins, I know as I have my chair over 20 years and have worked on it over the years. It is well worth rebuilding ... I think the old classic version has better build then the newer Remastered ones from what I am seeing.

    Hi! Do u know if I can use bleach to clean the mesh and the plastic outer casing? Currently there is alot of disgusting stains
    I'm not worried about discoloration, (pretty sure there would be) more of whether it would damage the mesh/plastic

    • @CrandallOfficeFurniture
      @CrandallOfficeFurniture  6 месяцев назад +1

      Also make sure you use a soft bristle brush when scrubbing as you can damage the pellicle.

    • @rwoosh_master
      @rwoosh_master 6 месяцев назад

      Thank you! Noted on your pointers. Has there been any instances where your detergent and scrubbing cannot remove any stains? And what did you try to do to remove it for any results?
      My chair is grey so the super is super obvious. Would like to get it as clean as possible

    • @CrandallOfficeFurniture
      @CrandallOfficeFurniture  6 месяцев назад

      Actually upon further investigation we don't see anything supporting the use of bleach of any kind on the mesh, so we suggest to not use it at all. We do not know what it would do to it and we haven't run into stains for the zinc grey mesh but we definitely recommend using a mild detergent and trying to scrub it as shown in the video. Outside of that we don't have any other options at this time.
