I never really understood the difference, thank you. Too bad for the height adj missing on the posture-fit, it would be perfect with it, something similar to the leap, which I think has the best lumbar support in the industry.
I had the original Posture Fit support on my chair, and I bought the Standard because the lower push on the hip caused me some pain over the months. My back was losing the lumbar curve, and now, even feeling some discomfort because the new posture the chair forces me to sit, I'm feeling that it's contributing to help me correct my original curvature. When I sit now my back feels more like if I was standing, and I snap some parts in place by stretching my arms and neck. Probably Herman Miller decided to change the design because sitting correctly is not always pleasant, and the new support may please more consumers.
The standard lumbar keep failing on me. I have replaced it 3 times. Basically there seems to be a design flaw where plastic of the pad starts to split at the edges where it attaches to the chair and then it just becomes a zipper. The only way to prevent this is if I push it all the way to the bottom where it's basically not being used. I replaced it with OEM and knock offs same problem. For reference, I am 165lbs male so it should not be that much stress on the chair.
I think we may be able to help you address this issue. if you could send a quick video of what is happening to Contact@crandalloffice.com we would love to take a look at this for your and see if we can help!
Good video - thanks! Lumbar support is the weakest link in the Aeron chair. I've gone through one lumbar pad already that cracked in half. Can't believe they charge so much for such a poorly manufactured piece.
@@CrandallOfficeFurniture Hi Dave, Are there any identifiers like dots on the Posture-Fit support like there are on actual Herman Miller Aeron classic chairs? Thinking of buying one on eBay and just want to make sure it not a fake one or a size A/B.
@@OneDigitalSoul - Pretty sure they also sell on their Crandall Office website. They have good service, in my opinion. I ordered a Steelcase chair part from them a few months ago.
We unfortunately don't know why that happens, we do have other people that have had the same issue and we just swap out for a different one for them and that does seam to fix it.
What're your thoughts on an after market head rest? I wonder why Herman Miller does not have them for the Aeron. I have an old Mirra atm (will be getting the Aeron soon) and my head starts to ache after a little while without a headrest
I was hoping you would touch upon the lumbar support tension range of each version. I recently tested a few refurbished Aerons and found the standard lumbar piece to provide stronger support, even on its less pronounced side, than the PostureFit at its strongest setting. But I'm not sure whether that was perhaps a quirk of the individual units I tested, or indicative of the design in general. Do you find the standard lumbar support stronger than the PostureFit?
I would say that i find the standard more aggressive even on the smallest side but the posture fit to be more supportive overall in various parts of the lower back.
Thanks for the video :) !!! But I was surprised that you have to get out of the chair to adjust the Lumbal Pad... I can adjust that easily while sitting in my Classic size C ... Would the Posture Fit of the Remastered also fit to the Classic ? Or would it look strange because they have a different Grey tone ?
Great question! There is an option to do so but in order to do it you would have to have access to another aeron with adjustable arms. I don't believe that Herman Miller sells the individual component to made them adjustable.
I used to work at a chair component part factory in Rockford Michigan we made parts for that aeron chair I love that chair very comfortable.

I found the Posture fit to be weak and not as stiff as the football - which I was looking for.
It definitely does a good job!
Thanks for the explanation!!😃

HELL YEAH!!! Great video!!!
Thanks!!
Hi, can i use the standard lumbar pad on the remastered aeron or its fitting only the classic one?
My lumbar pad pops off whenever I put any weight on it. I have had so many split too. Im only 72kg.
We unfortunately don't know why that happens, we do have other people that have had the same issue and we just swap out for a different one for them and that does seam to fix it.
Flip it to the thin side

We sell the atlas headrest and we think it is a really good setup
Herman Miller believes with good posture there is no need for a headrest, it actually causes more ergonomic issues - that's why they don't sell them

No the posture fit for the remastered is a quite a bit different design and wouldn't fit the classic unfortunately
@@CrandallOfficeFurniture Thank you :)
In minute 5:23 you say that the support is slightly low for you. How tall are you?
5,8"
Can i use the Chair with none of them??
Sure can just won’t have any lumbar support.
Hi is it possible to retrofit armrests for Aerons that weren’t optioned with it?
Great question! There is an option to do so but in order to do it you would have to have access to another aeron with adjustable arms. I don't believe that Herman Miller sells the individual component to made them adjustable.
I am thinking of getting rid of the arm of mine, so that I can play guitar more comfortably. Hit me up if you wanna buy it
Could i get the regualr lumbar support version and then change it to the posture fit if i didn't like it? are they interchangeable?
Yes that is correct.
@@CrandallOfficeFurniture Thank you!
You repeated yourself and made the video is too long.
Thank you for the insight!
