when it comes to only eng-kor translation, AI would replace humans in 10 years but if its also about the deep content for some specific field (film languages in this case), AI wouldnt be able to be enough. never forget, sharon choi is also a film maker, not just a great translator which is not her main job.
Why do I keep getting the feeling the interviewer was trying to paint a picture of Director Bong being raised by stereotypical asian tiger parents? Some of the questions sounded presumptive...like why did he assume his parents were not accepting of his passion for filmmaking? Or that he picked sociology because his parents wanted him to? His dad is a graphic designer for goodness' sake... not exactly a traditional career choice most stereotypical asians would make. Director Bong probably inherited his dad's creative genes.

Just saw Parasite and was shocked by its ending. I also wondered who was the parasite(s)? That's quite normal actually. Speaking and listening skills are different. A lot of 3rd generation immigrants speak English but not their mother tongue but can still understand if their grandparents speak to them in their mother tongue.

she looks presentable enough for me. that's the perk of her job. she gets up, brushes her teeth, does a little bit of her makeup and prepares to translate. she's not the focus of this. she looks fine and seems charming while doing her job. she doesn't need to be glamed up. in case you're still concerned: i'm sure for the oscars she will get some glam done just for the sake of the occasion
